This is the worst Room Mate we have ever stayed at! We have always loved this hotel chain and stayed with them all over the world. But, as the saying goes, “there’s a black sheep in every family,” and Anna is proof of that. We stayed in our favorite city with a small child, and no one even asked about our special needs. Not once were we offered a high chair at breakfast. The room had no toiletries, no slippers, and no bathrobes. The curtains were torn. But the worst part was the “cleanliness.” Dust balls everywhere - the bedside lamp literally highlights layers of dust, and the bedside tables were completely covered in it! When I went down to the reception and reported this, the staff tried to look sorry, but they didn’t even say a simple “sorry.” They sent a cleaner with just a damp cloth, without any cleaning products, who also only pretended to wipe one bedside table. No words. The ventilation grilles clearly need to be cleaned as well. On top of that, the control panel beeps so loudly that if someone is sleeping - especially a child - the sound of the buttons will definitely wake them up. Each “child” hotel represents the face of the entire brand! In Barcelona, besides Anna, there are three more Room Mate hotels - but of course, we had no desire to move to any of them. Even though we decided to stay an extra week in beautiful Barcelona, we chose a completely different place. And yes, the breakfasts here are exactly the same every day, while there are plenty of lovely places around with much better variety! We have stayed in Room Mate hotels in Istanbul, Rome, Valencia, and Milan, and this is the first time we’ve encountered such a disgrace. All the other hotels in this chain were wonderful. What a disappointment!

We stayed for 5 nights in November. Don't look for an alternative for breakfast, it's very, very good. Excellent location and great service! I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location couldn't be better – it's right in the heart of the city, close to all the main attractions, shops, and restaurants. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything I needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Overall, it was a perfect experience, and I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel for five nights in December this year. The purpose of my trip was tourism, which was also the main reason I chose this hotel. The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the same applies to the rooms. I specifically requested that our towels be changed daily, and this request was fully respected. In addition to changing the towels, housekeeping cleaned and tidied the room every day, which was greatly appreciated. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with amenities such as bottled water and small chocolates, which was a very nice and thoughtful touch. The bathroom is fully equipped, so there is no need to bring shampoo, shower gel, hair conditioner, or body lotion. Everything is provided, which truly makes traveling easier and more comfortable. The hotel also feels very safe. Access to the building requires a key card, which is also needed to use the elevator and to enter the room. The staff were exceptionally kind and professional, and at all times available to assist guests. The reception staff always had helpful information and useful recommendations for us as tourists. The room itself is not very large (a standard-sized room), but for two women staying five days with quite a lot of luggage, it was absolutely sufficient and never felt cramped. The bed is large and very comfortable, as are the pillows. The air conditioning works perfectly and adjusts the room temperature very quickly, whether heating or cooling. The Wi-Fi connection was also very fast and reliable throughout our stay. The hotel’s location is excellent for tourists. The metro station is just a two-minute walk away, and the bus stop is located right in front of the hotel. Since the hotel is in the city center, most attractions are easily reachable on foot. Despite being located in a busy area, the room was very quiet, and we were not disturbed by outside noise at all. Breakfast, which is included in the price, is excellent. It is served from 7:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon and offers a wide variety of options every day, so you will definitely not leave hungry. The value for money is outstanding - easily a 5/5. This hotel is a great choice for couples, friends, and generally younger travelers. Additionally, the hotel features a rooftop area with a bar and a jacuzzi, which is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. From our room, we had a view of Tibidabo Hill with the church on top, while rooms on the other side of the hotel offer a view of Casa Batlló.

The hotel is in an excellent location, less than a 3 minutes walk from all the shops and attractions are. It’s super convenient, and there’s even a Starbucks just a step from the hotel entrance. The service was amazing, available 24/7. I’ve never seen such friendly and helpful reception staff. Our room was for two, with separate beds. The room was relatively small but perfectly fine. There wasn’t much noise at night, the beds were comfortable, and the room had a TV and a fridge. Breakfast was fantastic, with everything you could need, coffee machine, cheeses, sweets, breads, eggs, and cold drinks. The hotel also has a rooftop pool. It’s very small, more like a relaxing spot or jacuzzi than a swimming pool, but still nice to sit and unwind. Overall, the location, breakfast, and exceptional service really stood out. The room itself was simple but comfortable, and the hotel made for a very enjoyable stay.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Barcelona A wonderful stay in a perfect location, right across from Casa Batlló — the view from the room was truly impressive. The staff were friendly and always willing to help, and the breakfast was rich and delicious. The hotel’s décor was modern and beautifully designed, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Overall a good stay but it has its cons. We stayed here for four nights. The location is unbeatable for tourists; it truly feels like staying in the middle of Times Square (which may or may not be what you prefer). It's super close to the train station, shopping areas, and major attractions. There's also a Starbucks right under the hotel, which was very convenient for morning coffee. Service was friendly, and check-in was quick and easy. Room We stayed in a Deluxe Room with a balcony. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet despite how noisy it was outside. However, the rooms are pretty small and dark. If you have more than one suitcase, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you book a larger room. They do have a really great hair dryer, which is a huge plus for me. The room also comes with robes, slippers, and a safe. As well as complimentary water, kettle, coffee and tea. Bathroom The bathroom setup wasn't my favorite. The sink is completely separate from the toilet and shower, located right at the entrance of the room. The bathroom door is metal and very heavy, so it makes a lot of noise when closing definitely loud enough to wake up anyone sleeping. The shower also floods the floor in front of the toilet every time you use it, which was pretty annoying. We had to place a large towel to block the water, but it still ended up soaked. Overall I wouldn’t choose to stay here again, but it certainly wasn’t the worst experience either.

Yelp

Yelp
I was here in 2019. The hotel is beautiful! We went for our anniversary. We booked the junior suite. Our room was amazing. The bath tub was my favorite part. The View and the balcony it was like something in a movie. Definitely staying here once Europe opens! We have our tickets to come back but Covid hit. I would say the guests are a bit older. Everyone is very sweet staff and the guests. The cute rooftop round pool is the cherry on top.

Yelp
Extremely excellent service with delicious and beautiful drinks. Views from the rooftop are great with amazing atmosphere. Giacomo and Maria were both exceptional!! Will definitely come again!

Yelp
My family and I planned a trip to Barcelona from 1/17 - 1/20, then 1/22 - 1/23. I found Room Mate Anna, and compared it to a few other hotels I was considering. The rooms were cheap because its off peak season, but what got me to book was their portable wifi! We booked 2 standard rooms for 1/17 - 1/20 and then 2 basic rooms 1/22 - 1/23. I know - Portable Wifi doesn't seem like a big deal, especially if you have an international plan but I didn't have one. As someone who consistently checks her emails and social media and iMessages, those wifi sticks were LIFE-CHANGING! Most places in BCN have private wifi and complicated passwords - and it's even more complicated if you don't understand the language. Check in is normally around 2/3 pm, but I told the hotel we would be coming in around 7/8am on 1/16 and would be hoping to check in early if possible.Ivana knew who we were before we said hello! While she was checking us into one room (the only one available at that moment) we helped ourselves to some infused water (lemon, or mint or regular water). We got to our room, and it was pretty cramped, but we were 4 people who were dying to take naps. The room actually had the sink outside and didn't have windows, so it was really dull compared to the pictures. When my parents got to check in to their room, our jaws dropped. They had massive windows with tons of natural light, and a generally bigger room too. We asked if they had any other similar rooms to my parents and they were so kind - they helped us switch into a nicer, more well-lit room. My parents thought the original room we had may have been basic, but we didn't ask once they switched us! Everyday at Room Mate Anna, you would be greeted by anyone working there - whether it was housekeeping or the concierge. They're all so pleasant and kind, and really helped us find our way through Barcelona (Cabs were on strike, so someone actually mapped out the destinations we wanted to go to, and told us what trains/buses to take, plus a way to save money - a ten trip ~10eu instead of paying 2.20eu one way!) When we came back from Sevilla to spend one last night at Room Mate Anna for ~6 hours, we asked if the larger rooms were available since we were staying for 6 hours. Sergi was SO kind and patient and made it happen. The hotel itself is a 3 second walk from Passeig De Gracia (which is a huge train station) with access to the metro as well as the train that goes to the airport. It's perpendicular to the Fifth Ave of Barcelona. It's next door to a Starbucks and Burberry store. Across the street there's a wonderful tapas restaurant called Madrid-Barcelona and Cocovail Beer Hall which specializes in flights of beers. It's also 2 metro stops from La Rambla (walking distance too) and walking distance from Gran Via. 7 minutes away from the hotel is a Brunch and Cake which is really popular in Barcelona. There's so much to do around the hotel - you'll never be bored. There's also a convenience store across the street which sells minis, wine, beer, water, snacks etc. When booking, I had no idea how central Room Mate Anna would be to everything. We actually got SO lucky with the staff, location and rooms itself. Thank you so much Room Mate Anna - looking forward to coming back and staying with you guys again! PS: It's across the street from Casa Batllo and like a 6 minute walk from Casa Milà

Yelp
Right when we walked in, the gentleman at the front office was welcoming and gave us a lot of information and tips. They have security for the hotel as in you need to swipe your hotel room key to enter the hotel and to go up the elevators. Makes you feel a lot safer. The room is very contemporary. The only complain I would have is that they tried to do too much decoration inside the room and it made it look cluttered and smaller than it really is. The shower is amazing! The location of the hotel is perfect as well. La Sagrada Familia as well as other sites are a close walk away or a 2-5 min walk to a Metro station.

Yelp
I stayed in this hotel for one week while attending a conference. Since I arrived, the staff made me feel welcomed. They went out of their way to assist my every need, from giving me clean towels at 3 am to making sure I was up for a meeting after they called to wake me up and I was no where to be seen after. The rooms are clean and well designed. For Spanish standards, the bed and pillows are super comfortable and the sweets that were left on my bed with sweet notes put a smile each night on my face. I would recommend with my eyes closed this hotel and I am sure to go back whenever I return to Barcelona. It is priceless to come in and out a place and every time be greeted with a friendly smile and nice comment, specially when I was in and out so many times to stressful meetings. Thank you Room Mate Anna team for making my stay a great one.

Yelp
This hotel happens to be in very close proximity to the metro/buses/light rail. A fact we discovered under duress because during our trip to Spain, there was a city wide taxi strike in Barcelona. But even better than that fact is how extremely pleasant and helpful everyone is that works there. We flew in and arrived at the hotel at approx 9-10am, way before check in, but they were able to accommodate us. Then we weren't entirely satisfied with the room, and so they changed my room as well as my parents room to a room we loved. We then flew to Seville; and came back for our last night in Barcelona to this same hotel; and once again they were able to hook us up with a nice room. Location is ideal, you can pretty much walk anywhere, and you're surrounded by all the shopping your heart can desire, and the cherry on top is the lovey staff that works here. I would come back 10000 times and recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone if they're looking for a place to stay in Barcelona!

Yelp
I highly recommend this hotel very clean friendly staff next to metro close to historical places sagra da familia 20 minutes by walk 10 euro by taxi walking distance to shopping and close to tapas restaurants . The rooms are not very big and does not have a lobby if you are looking for one . For me not a problem .

Yelp
Roommate Anna is one of my favorite hotels I have stayed at in the recent past. We stayed there for three nights in June 2019 and it was an absolute dream. Piece by piece - location: couldn't be better. Barcelona is a relatively walkable city in general, but this puts you right in the middle - Las Ramblas is walkable, as well as the Gaudi buildings (Casa Batlló is right across the street) and Barceloneta is a short subway ride. Overall ambience: super modern. The whole hotel is so unique. The rooms are big, but big enough - although I am still dreaming about the shower! The rooftop is a nice place to hang - the pool is super cute and overlooks the city as does the bar area. The people working at the hotel are also lovely. Upon check in, the gentleman at the front desk walked us through essentially every inch of the city and called out the high points! Breakfast is also served each morning and it was very above par with unique options, including mini smoothies! Would highly recommend this hotel, and would absolutely be open to staying at another Roommate hotel in the future.

Yelp
The 5 stars is for the staff, who are amazing and extremely helpful. They greeted us warmly when we arrived and gave us a great offer on a room upgrade with a balcony and then offered to make us dinner reservations at a very nice, late night restaurant in walking distance called Pepito. The rooms were beautiful and the bed is cozy. Overall, this hotel made our stay in Barcelona perfect.
