Room Mate Collection Gorka, San Sebastián

First…Donostia-San Sebastián is so beautiful! It is a wonderful place to visit. ||Hotel Pros - |Location - close to two beautiful beaches and the old town area. Many, many small, good restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, etc. Lots of beautiful little park areas and benches. Lovely areas to walk around.|Very helpful and pleasant staff|Good bathroom sink & mirror. Good products.|Great hair dryer! A Dyson.|Espresso maker & kettle, small frig. |Attractive room with clean, non carpeted floors|Easy to walk to from bus station.|We took a taxi to the airport when leaving, but you can get a bus across the street that will also take you there.|The breakfast was nice.||Not as good - |Did not get the twin bed arrangement requested in a reservation made several months ago. Instead got a large bed and pulled out chair-bed, that was ok.|Toilet & bidet too close across from each other. For tall person, knees bump the bidet. A bad design.|High sided tub (like many in Europe), with a very slippery bottom to the tub. Difficult to use, small shower wand. Dangerous for seniors.

Brilliant hotel. Brilliant staff. Brilliant location. We stayed three days for a city break. Absolutely loved the hotel. Reception staff: Mauro, Sophie & Ainhoa were brilliant. The breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend the hotel.

Room Mate Gorka is a lovely hotel in San Sebastián which overlooks a small park with a pond full of wildlife.|The staff are friendly, helpful and polite. The rooms and communal areas are kept very clean. The bar/ restaurant area where we had breakfast is very welcoming. The buffet style breakfast is available from 7am. There are various types of hot and cold food available with many breads, pastries, fruits and a wide variety of drinks. |The hotel is situated in a great location, convenient for almost anything you want to do locally. It is within walking distance of the beach, old town, many shops and pintxos bars. |The area has a lot to offer, whether you want to walk around the little streets and stop for a bite or go further and sit and overlook the sea.

Excellent hotel in a perfect area for exploring the beautiful city of San Sebastian. Staff really helpful and friendly. You may find yourself spending more time in your room than usual due to the somewhat erratic nature of the local weather so to this effect, The only slightly critical comment I would make is the poor (practically non existent)choice of TV Channels for English speakers. Not even BBC News which is a first for me. A small thing but the only critical thing I can think of. Recommended. One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. The 20% off at the bar is a nice touch as well.

We stayed here for a long weekend for my husband’s birthday. The hotel was perfect for our stay. The location is spot on with everything close by and walkable. The hotel is spotlessly clean with everything you need. The staff were super friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Kati, Julien and Eugenia for their help with organising everything for us. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Mate Gorka is a wonderful hotel in a great location with excellent service, a delicious breakfast, and stylish, generously proportioned rooms. Immaculately clean and quiet with super comfortable beds. We were made to feel welcome by all the staff members we met, and on checking in they even noticed (from my passport) that it was my birthday and upgraded our room. This was a very kind, thoughtful and unexpected gesture. ||The hotel bar is great for those times when you don’t feel like venturing out (their Basque cheesecakes are dangerously delicious) and the bakery a couple of doors up is a great option for morning coffee, a light lunch or afternoon snack.||We hadn’t come across Room Mate hotels before staying here, but will certainly look out for them on our travels in Spain and beyond in the future.||Highly, highly recommended!

The location of this hotel is great. It’s right in the center of town so you can walk to the shops, old town, and the beach. ||The room was very comfortable and we did enjoy the second level loft. My only complaint is that I wish they refilled the water bottle each day so we could enjoy more water. ||Staff was very friendly and helpful!

We came for 3 nights and found the rooms beautiful, modern and great in room coffee. The front desk were exceptionally helpful with planning our meals and day hiking day trips. Nuria in particular helped us plan out our wonderful days. Her suggestions worked out beautifully. We are planning to come back to San Sebastián in the near future.
