Room Mate Giulia (Milan, Lombardy) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Right off Piazza Duomo, Room Mate Giulia is bright, bold, and unmistakably Milanese. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, its interiors channel Sixties Milan with pink marble, curved furniture, vintage touches, and a palette of moss green, blush, and terracotta. Rooms feature grid-print ceilings, octagonal mirrors, and illustrations by local artists. Mosaic-tiled bathrooms come in saturated colors, and breakfast is served until noon. Design-driven with Milan right outside the door, this hotel is just the right amount of fun." - Tablet Hotels

This is by far my family’s favorite hotel in Europe. We stayed in a triple room and it was huge. The beds are very comfortable and the room was extremely clean. The bathroom was amazing with both a tub and shower. The little details really set this place apart from the rest. There are enough plugs available for electronics, plenty of hooks for items, and places to store luggage and other items. This is a lively area, but the room was well soundproofed. Breakfast had a very good selection. The location is also great as most things are walkable and the Duomo metro stop is close by. The staff here are all wonderful as well. They were always there to greet you with a smile and to help as needed. We definitely hope to return!

Outstanding experience all around. My wife and I stayed here for a short, 4 day Milan vacation centered around a Springsteen concert. This hotel was a great choice and we will definitely stay here again in future visits. The location is great. Right next to the Duomo, easy access to the trains, and excellent sights and shopping nearby. Our room was nicely furnished and the shower is great. Housekeeping was meticulous - our room attendants did a fabulous job. Excellent breakfast every morning with a wide selection. Mae and Lilibeth are awesome attendants - they are extremely welcoming and keep everything moving. Lastly, the service at the desk was outstanding. We got excellent advice about transportation and general city navigation. One night I needed a welcome gift for a friend and Andre on the day shift worked some magic for me. Went way above and beyond and made it look easy. Highly, highly recommend this great spot.

My stay here was absolutely one of the best I’ve had – not just in Italy, but in all of Europe! A heartfelt thank you to Andre and Matteo for their exceptional service. They kindly upgraded my room and were incredibly understanding of my situation, which made a huge difference during my stay. Their professionalism, warmth, and willingness to help truly stood out. I’d also like to thank their manager for running such a great team, and the hotel itself for providing a beautiful and comfortable experience. Highly recommended – I will definitely be back!

I honestly cannot recommend this hotel enough. As a solo traveller I booked a superior room which was perfect; it was spacious, very comfortable and super clean. ||The location is also excellent! I wanted to stay a few days and do some shopping around the center. All the shopping areas are a walking distance around the hotel. For instance, Rinascente is 2 minutes away and other shopping streets like Montenapoleone is a 5 minute walk.||The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Guest relations helped me get reservations / find exactly what I need!||I believe this hotel deserves a 5 star!

I do love it when a hotel absolutely nails the bed comfort and room a/c works!! First world issues I know, but when you’ve been travelling and it’s almost 40 degrees outside these things really count! Literally just steps from the impressive Duomo but peaceful inside. If you want a quirky out of the way trendy area-this isn’t it-this is bang central tourist Milan. But once you step inside the room mate doors, that is all behind you. Great city stay.

"We stayed at Room Mate Giulia in Milan during two periods: May 5-7 and May 12-13. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, with a private balcony that added to our experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the hotel's central location made it easy to access all the main attractions in the city. This was not our first stay; we were here a few years ago when the hotel first opened. The boutique hotel is perfect for couples and is conveniently close to everything you need. We want to give a special shout-out to Andrea, the concierge, who provided exceptional service, recommended great restaurants, and even suggested a lovely hotel on our way from Milan to Florence near Portofino. Andrea's dedication and warmth truly made us fall in love with the place. Two minor notes: the approach to the hotel was a bit challenging due to roadwork, but the hotel staff did their best to assist. Additionally, the breakfast could be more varied, and it would be nice if certain small items didn't incur extra charges. Given the hotel's premium pricing, a bit more indulgence would be appreciated. Overall, we will definitely return to this hotel and have already recommended it to friends. Thanks again to the entire staff, especially Andrea—promote him to assistant manager; he deserves it! Thank you!"

Very nice hotel. Rooms have huge ceilings, and neat furnishings. Staff was very helpful with directions, etc. Buffet with great selection which was perfect for breakfast. Cool place. At the time we stayed a couple weeks ago there was a lot of construction in front which was a little annoying, but obviously nothing the hotel can do about that, just be warned that taxis can't drive right up to the door.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated with exceptional service. We were greeted with smiling faces and a welcomed glass of our choice of beverage. ||||The hotel is bright and funky and our room and bathroom were generous in size. ||||The location is right next door to Piazza Duomo and Vittorio Emmanuelle II building, but didn’t hear a peep during the night.

Yelp
There are a lot of GREAT things about this hotel as well as one very annoying thing which is the only reason for the rating of 4 stars instead of 5. I'll start with the great things: the location is probably the best part. It is literally right next to the duomo and its square which means it is also right next to galleria vittoria emanuele. When our driver from the airport dropped us off at like 1:30am he was losing his shit like "how much did this place cost? it's right next to the duomo!!!!" When I say right next to, I mean like...half of block. The concierge are wonderful and very friendly. The space is beautiful. The decor gives me moody but modern vibes. The aesthetic was wonderful and the amenities (towel warmer in the bathroom, unless that's a common thing in Europe) were a nice touch. The bathroom was clean and the shower was incredible. The linens and towels were soft. We were offered a welcome glass of prosecco. We actually used one of the beverages in the mini bar, a ginger ale, and it was a REASONABLE PRICE. I could go on and on. What really pissed me off, however, was that it seemed like staff entered our room multiple times every day. One night it was very hot in our room which made it hard to sleep and it took forever to get the room cooler. The following day, prior to leaving for dinner, I turned down the thermostat to prevent what happened the night before. When we returned from dinner, the thermostat had been changed back to where it was. What the fuck? I can't set my own thermostat? Nothing else was different about the room so it's not like they came in to turn down the room. I don't know how else our thermostat could have been changed unless someone came into our room. One day of our stay, we came to the hotel to drop something off and our room had been made up. I think it's reasonable to assume no one would return to our room after that because what would be the purpose? We left again and when we returned later, there were literally staff IN OUR ROOM. They said "we were just checking the room". For what?! It seems so fucking bizarre and feels like an invasion of privacy. If you don't mind the above the hotel is great but I found it very irritating and invasive.

Yelp
You'll love the location. Very convenient to all the attractions. Rooms are very quiet and the black out blinds work very well. Not sure what some people are complaining about the noise. We stayed for five nights and didn't hear a peep at night. Modern room. You'll be very happy u booked here.

Yelp
By far our nicest stay in Europe with a great central location. We came to shop and being close to the fashion district made it easy to walk everywhere . Gotta check out Navigli and Brera when you're here as well. Modern hotel and functional decor. Super quiet and wonderful staff. Clean and good amenities - won't need a thing!! I'll be back for sure !!! Sara also gave us super customer service and helped guide us around the area.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Room Mate Giulia. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional as we made our room reservation and had questions about getting an adjoining room for our children. The hotel offers a fun, fresh, modern decor without being too overbearing or tiring. Our showers were spacious and never ran out of hot water. The wifi worked readily and was reasonably fast. The room temperature was comfortable and easily adjustable; they must have radiant heat because we never felt forced air heat that tends to dry your skin out. The beds are firm and comfortable. The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It's a block away from the Duomo, La Scala, and in the heart of the Galleria. It is across the street from the Park Hyatt at a fraction of the cost. You are literally in the heart of everything and yet, the street that the hotel is on is very quiet. We would gladly stay here again the next time we are in Milan!

Yelp
Excellent hotel in the center Milan Cathedral area of Milan. Room Mate Giulia puts your right where you want to be with the Cathedral, the oldest grand mall , plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants to explore. Hotel staff is amazing with clean rooms that are comfortable as well as showing some design flair.
