16 Best Hotels in Milan for 2025 Visits | Condé Nast Traveler

"I found Room Mate Giulia to be a quirky, retro-inflected hotel steps from the Duomo with interiors by Patricia Urquiola inspired by 1960s Milanese residences: color-coded rooms in shades of green, light blue, and terra-cotta, works by local artists on the walls, and a playful, bold personality. Breakfast runs until midday with a colorful market-style display, there’s no restaurant but plenty of nearby dining options, and facilities include a small gym, steam room, sauna, and treatment room." - Kiki Deere

Room Mate Giulia (Milan, Lombardy) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Right off Piazza Duomo, Room Mate Giulia is bright, bold, and unmistakably Milanese. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, its interiors channel Sixties Milan with pink marble, curved furniture, vintage touches, and a palette of moss green, blush, and terracotta. Rooms feature grid-print ceilings, octagonal mirrors, and illustrations by local artists. Mosaic-tiled bathrooms come in saturated colors, and breakfast is served until noon. Design-driven with Milan right outside the door, this hotel is just the right amount of fun." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel was very good and the staff was excellent. The front desk staff especially was very helpful. There was no dedicated concierge, but everyone on the front desk essentially did concierge-level work at things like arranging transportation; finding a doctor for a member of our party who became ill; finding a pharmacy nearby to fill prescriptions; making restaurant recommendations; etc. It was wonderful having them to ask about things.||The rooms were comfortable and had everything you would need. This is in a beautiful converted building and the rooms are a bit small and can be a bit idiosyncratic, but I don't consider that to be a downside. There was coffee available in the room and a minibar. There was not iron for pressing clothes, but otherwise everything you could want was there.||The breakfast that is included with the room was very good. Included were pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt, charcuterie, cheese, coffee americano and cappuccino, espresso and so forth. You can order eggs for a small a la carte fee.||The location cannot be beat. This hotel is steps away from Piazza di Duomo and close to the famous marketplace. There is a metro stop at the Piazza and a taxi rank as well. There was a restaurant next door (Pino) which served great food and wine. ||Overall, I cannot imagine a better hotel for that location.

This is a lovely boutique hotel in a perfect location. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Andre the concierge was so nice and arranged for us day trips, restaurants, the Duomo trip and everything we needed. The hotel is designed very modern, the room was very spacious, with excellent shower and absolute darkness and quiet so we slept until late with no interuption. The breakfast has plenty of choices and the location is perfect near the Duomo and many shops. We'll definitely come back.

Location is amazing! Steps from the Duomo square, Galleria and crazy shopping. Comfortable, clean rooms. All that is great- but the staff makes this hotel exceptional! I arrived from an overseas flight and within hours was consumed by a virus or food poisoning. I was so sick and they were so kind! The staff helped me get medication, gave me water to make sure I was hydrated, and made me toast the next day when I was able to eat. Their care and concern for me was above and beyond their jobs. I picked this hotel because of the location but will come back because of the people! Highly recommend!

Google
Location, location, location--within 100m of Duomo Plaza & Galleria! Staff extremely friendly and helpful! Excellent and varied breakfast options. Accommodations were ample, clean and comfortable. Our room was very quiet facing an interior courtyard. Like everything in Milan--pricey! Amenities are limited--no evening restaurant or full bar / entertainment area with view, etc.

Google
Location location! Most comfortable bed we had in Europe. Gym / Fitness room is small has a couple of cardio Machu es and some dumbells. Unfortunately when we were there the pathway around the entrance was under renovation... Uneven and lots of puddles. Not really hotels fault but be aware if travelling with people with mobility issues.

My experience at this hotel was one of a kind, and the key aspect of this experience was the warm, cool, super helpful staff there, like Andre and Erfan. The room was particularly clean, well designed and well equipped. The bed was super comfortable and the flooring was a great design choice. Overall, you get a cool modern design with mid century touches. The view is a classic and picture worthy. But again, the highlight for me was the staff. Andre one of the staff felt more like a cool local friend who wants to take care of you. I got amazing restaurant and neighborhood recommendations. He helped me pay the zoning ticket. Andre and Erfan we're just there to make you feel home and I absolutely appreciated that. Will definitely come back!

Google
I had an amazing stay at Room Mate Giulia in Milan. The hotel was spotless, beautifully designed, and in the perfect location right next to the Duomo. Everything felt very comfortable and well organized. Most importantly, the staff made me feel truly welcome. A very special thank you to Benedetta and Sara for their kindness, professionalism, and friendly attitude – they went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Milan. I will definitely come back!

We stayed here for the last destination of our honeymoon before back home. The location is superb. Room is very clean and big. We can walk to Venchi to get gelato every night within 200feet away. The only one thing we disappointed was the road in front of hotel was fixing.

Yelp
There are a lot of GREAT things about this hotel as well as one very annoying thing which is the only reason for the rating of 4 stars instead of 5. I'll start with the great things: the location is probably the best part. It is literally right next to the duomo and its square which means it is also right next to galleria vittoria emanuele. When our driver from the airport dropped us off at like 1:30am he was losing his shit like "how much did this place cost? it's right next to the duomo!!!!" When I say right next to, I mean like...half of block. The concierge are wonderful and very friendly. The space is beautiful. The decor gives me moody but modern vibes. The aesthetic was wonderful and the amenities (towel warmer in the bathroom, unless that's a common thing in Europe) were a nice touch. The bathroom was clean and the shower was incredible. The linens and towels were soft. We were offered a welcome glass of prosecco. We actually used one of the beverages in the mini bar, a ginger ale, and it was a REASONABLE PRICE. I could go on and on. What really pissed me off, however, was that it seemed like staff entered our room multiple times every day. One night it was very hot in our room which made it hard to sleep and it took forever to get the room cooler. The following day, prior to leaving for dinner, I turned down the thermostat to prevent what happened the night before. When we returned from dinner, the thermostat had been changed back to where it was. What the fuck? I can't set my own thermostat? Nothing else was different about the room so it's not like they came in to turn down the room. I don't know how else our thermostat could have been changed unless someone came into our room. One day of our stay, we came to the hotel to drop something off and our room had been made up. I think it's reasonable to assume no one would return to our room after that because what would be the purpose? We left again and when we returned later, there were literally staff IN OUR ROOM. They said "we were just checking the room". For what?! It seems so fucking bizarre and feels like an invasion of privacy. If you don't mind the above the hotel is great but I found it very irritating and invasive.

Yelp
You'll love the location. Very convenient to all the attractions. Rooms are very quiet and the black out blinds work very well. Not sure what some people are complaining about the noise. We stayed for five nights and didn't hear a peep at night. Modern room. You'll be very happy u booked here.

Yelp
By far our nicest stay in Europe with a great central location. We came to shop and being close to the fashion district made it easy to walk everywhere . Gotta check out Navigli and Brera when you're here as well. Modern hotel and functional decor. Super quiet and wonderful staff. Clean and good amenities - won't need a thing!! I'll be back for sure !!! Sara also gave us super customer service and helped guide us around the area.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Room Mate Giulia. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and professional as we made our room reservation and had questions about getting an adjoining room for our children. The hotel offers a fun, fresh, modern decor without being too overbearing or tiring. Our showers were spacious and never ran out of hot water. The wifi worked readily and was reasonably fast. The room temperature was comfortable and easily adjustable; they must have radiant heat because we never felt forced air heat that tends to dry your skin out. The beds are firm and comfortable. The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It's a block away from the Duomo, La Scala, and in the heart of the Galleria. It is across the street from the Park Hyatt at a fraction of the cost. You are literally in the heart of everything and yet, the street that the hotel is on is very quiet. We would gladly stay here again the next time we are in Milan!

Yelp
Excellent hotel in the center Milan Cathedral area of Milan. Room Mate Giulia puts your right where you want to be with the Cathedral, the oldest grand mall , plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants to explore. Hotel staff is amazing with clean rooms that are comfortable as well as showing some design flair.
