Room Mate Leo, a Design Boutique Hotel Granada, Spain

"This design hotel has a rooftop terrace with fantastic views over Granada and the Alhambra Palace. It offers free Wi-Fi and stylish, air-conditioned rooms with plasma-screen satellite TV. Room Mate Leo is a traditional building with elegant modern interiors. Rooms are decorated in black and cream, and include a minibar and safe. Bathrooms come with toiletries and a hairdryer. The hotel is situated on a pedestrian street in Granada's main shopping area, 300 metres from the Cathedral. The beautiful Albaicin district is a 10-minute walk away. Buses to the Alhambra and to Granada Airport stop 400 metres away. Room Mate Leo serves a varied buffet breakfast all morning. There are many bars and cafés around nearby Bib-Rambla Square. Navas Street is just 250 metres away and is full of typical tapas bars." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

We liked this slightly quirky hotel in the city centre of Granada. However, they need to sort their check in process as it takes a long time. I’m not sure if it’s their systems (or lack thereof), or staff shortages, but we sat for more than 20 minutes as three other couples were checked in by one guy. Another guest told me they’d waited 45 minutes behind one couple, who had some dispute. Yes, many people arrive at the 3pm check in time - and the hotel knows roughly how many are expected. So surely they can be prepared?|Anyway, our standard room was larger than most, as was the bathroom. It was also quiet and had everything we needed. Tick!|The rooftop pool area has a great view of the city. We also loved the trust based bar where you serve yourself and then let reception know what you used. |The location is near all the shops and restaurants. Taxis have to drop you around the corner, but it’s a 60 metre walk. |Brekkie was good too. Hot and cold options in a cosy basement room. |Overall, a great hotel that we would recommend and stay in again.

Room was clean, spacious and well-appointed. Friendly staff. And most importantly an excellent location, a quick walk to many of Granada’s main attractions and 5-10 minutes walk to the bus stop for the places that are a little further away. Several great restaurants just around the corner. I skipped the breakfast as there are better options in the neighborhood for a lower price than the hotel offers. Would stay again!

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of the city. You can park in a nearby public parking and get a discount (check with the hotel). The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was a bit disappointing though, it was next to the elevator, had two single beds instead of a double, a bright green emergency light facing the bed which made it hard to sleep, and a leaking sink tap. However, the hotel was very accommodating about it. The rooftop pool offers a stunning view over the city (including the Alhambra and the Cathedral), although it’s more like a jacuzzi due to its small size and shallow depth. The breakfast was excellent.

The staff is very nice, responsive and kind. •The modestly compact hotel lobby is dark and gloomy, with little natural light. •Upon entry there was a musty smell in my all gray room. Instead of modem and fresh it felt austere and depressing. • The room is small with a single window. It's location on the lower floor made it especially dark. It truly felt as if I was at the bottom of a well. I suggest asking for a room on higher floors to help with the lack of natural light. •Apart from the scuffs on the walls and cracks around the window, the room seems clean. •The minimal amount of furniture and amenities is adequate but not generous. •The bathroom although roomy, is woefully short on storage space for toiletries and makeup. Apart from a tiny floor shelf it is overdesigned and underutilized. •Anytime I opened the toilet lid the was a strong smell of sewage. I kept the lid closed at all times. •WiFi works well. •The 360° view of Granada from the upper terrace is lovely. •I appreciated the water dispensers in the reception area. •The hotel is centrally located in a very urban and busy part of town. From my previous stays in upscale hotels this is not one. I will not stay here again. Overall do not expect a luxurious experience and you won't be disappointed.

Stayed for two nights whilst visiting Granada on a road trip through Andalusia. |Like other Room Mate hotels I’ve stayed at they’re always comfy, luxe without being too fancy and friendly staff. Hotel is situated on a narrow pedestrian street (we parked at Garaje Rex, about 7 mins walk away) so our room had a limited view of the street and received little natural light but I expected this so not a massive issue. Location is great, very near the Cathedral and several areas to eat and drink nearby. |The room is comfy and well air conditioned with a large comfortable bathroom. |We didn’t eat breakfast in the hotel and looked at the rooftop pool but didn’t use either but there’s lovely views from there. |Service was friendly, polite and would happily stay again next time we’re in Granada.

Great location with exceptional service. I enjoyed my interactions with every staff at the reception, particularly Rafael. That said we were not able to sleep well as the aircon does not work - it only blows out hot air. We were told this is the design and to open the windows. I left the windows open the entire day, yet the room does not cool down for when I sleep, and I can hear the neighbouring streets till 1-2am.

Great hotel. Beds were excellent, we had a spacious terras and made use of the swimmingpool at the top floor with a panoramic view on the Alhambra and the city.|Breakfast was quite ok, although the egs and bacon were cold when we ate around 10:30. A very special thanks to Rafa who solved a problem for us which we had with a parking garage. This garage has nothing to do with the hotel but Rafa still occupied himself to us with succes for us. We might just come back, but please keep the hot dishes at breakfast warm. The location is perfect.

Gorgeous hotel right in the city centre & so affordable! Rooms are modern & clean, facilities great and the views from the pool / terrace are amazing! Would definitely stay again. We chose to add on the breakfast one of the days for €11 - it was worth it, good selection of hot / cold foods & drinks.
