My family and I had an amazing stay at this hotel! We originally booked an Airbnb nearby and had to leave on the same night as it was filled with mold and had the smell of sewage. It was Christmas week and Room Mate Luca gladly accepted us last minute and provided with us clean rooms. The staff was nice and accommodating, especially Aman from the breakfast room! (Breakfast was included too). The lobby is also very spacious and great to lounge around. We are very happy with our stay and would come back again, thank you!

Everything is great! Location is convenient. Staffs are really friendly and helpful. The ambience and deco are classic. The breakfast is nicely-prepared. It's the best hotel experience I had during my 2-week-trip and in Italy!!

Don't be fooled - everything here is TINY! Even the exceptional staff (restaurant and front desk) couldn't make up for it. My room was super tiny and a single bed! I am a grown adult and paid a premium price. The hotel lobby is super spacious and renovated but then it’s all tiny, tiny, tiny. Don’t be fooled. The elevator fits 2 people comfortably max, the guest floor lobbys are super narrow and super dark (very scary) It’s so narrow, that you can’t open your arms fully otherwise they will bump into the walls. The room was suffocatingly small as well as she shower cubicle. If you are plus size you won’t fit. I was put in room 108, directly right opposite housekeeping! What type of hotel, has housekeeping in the middle of the floor with hotel rooms all around it? Bearing in mind how tiny the hallways are and rooms. My bed was right at the door (weird) and literally 5-6 feet away from housekeeping. They were noisy and both mornings I woke up by their noise, I couldn’t take an afternoon nap in peace as they were laughing and making noise. The bed mattress was old/cheap as you could feel the springs. I did mention to staff by night 2 about the noise and they said they’ll speak to housekeeping but it didn’t help. She said she’d move me but ‘no single rooms avail’ If I were her, I’d move me to a bigger room then, as I did not get a good nights comfortable rest. Overall this hotel is not 4 star. After you leave the lobby it feels old and musky. Bear in mind, this is not a new building, it’s an old building whose interior was renovated so that ‘mutton dressing up as lamb’ feeling is there. Having housekeeping situated in the middle of a guest floor feels like a motel. I’m not sure if this is an Italy standard regards to single rooms for 1 adult, around the world - it’s a double bed. I’ve never seen single beds in a 4 star hotel before. Overall would not recommend this hotel, even though the staff and breakfast were great. A good night’s rest and spacious room is number one. Please use this feedback and do better and let people you book into room 108 know about housekeeping right opposite. I am sure I’m not the only one to have brought this to your attention. Thx

I would definitely stay here again. The amenities are very nice, I had a wonderful breakfast with a lot of options. It is walkable, its close-ish to the train station, I walked there when I arrived but I would recommend a taxi for suitcases. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, easy to talk to. I wish the bathroom had a counter instead a pedestal but not a big deal. It was a clean, polished, safe location. Thank you Room Mate!

I didn’t even get to stay at this hotel because a nationwide strike in Italy made it impossible to reach Florence. Despite explaining the situation and providing proof, Room Mate Luca refused to show any empathy or flexibility. They kept the money even though the problem was completely beyond our control. As international travelers, we expected understanding — not indifference. Very disappointing experience with a brand that claims to care about its guests.

We had such an amazing stay here! The hotel was so clean and the staff made us feel truly cared for. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to make our visit special. It really felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!

Google
Friendly place. Helpful people. Valet parking service at decent price considering location. Breakfast not too copious but fine enough. Funky room with good bed and solid bathroom with all amenities. Next time I’d ask a room in the back: not that street facing rooms give you hell (we were on the second floor) but I guess the calmer the better. Anyway, recommended place and not my last Room Mate.

I unexpectedly needed a place to stay in Florence with very short notice, I wanted to be close to the train station and not pay a fortune. This hotel came up on Booking.com and I went for it. I was worried that it was going to be some dodgy little backstreet place but it was in fact a very real, clean and normal hotel. Given my situation it was like arriving at an oasis, and I've rarely been as greatful to see a check-in desk. I was only there for a few hours but the service I needed was excellent, and the room was fine, I had a single room, which had a single bed which personally, I'm not a fan of but it did the job. I rarely stay in hotels abroad, I tend to self cater but if I was ever in the need for a hotel in Florence I'd happily stay here again. I have no idea what the area was like, or how close it was to any sights but just shy of 15 minutes walk from the station was fine for me.

Yelp
Great location. Amazing staff, especially in the breakfast area. Truly a pleasure to have stayed at this hotel. Highly recommend and very close to the train station

Yelp
Lovely hotel with a lovely staff. I had a wonderful time staying here. I found my room to be clean, modern, and a good size. The front desk staff was very helpful and you can even text them on WhatsApp with questions. Breakfast was light but all I needed. The hotel is easy to find and about a 15 minute walk from the train station. They also have lemon water at the front desk which I appreciated. Overall for the price I thought this was a great find.

Yelp
Loved it. Perfect location, lovely staff, very clean and spacious rooms, honestly I could not think of a better place to stay in Florence. You can walk right out of this hotel and you are in the middle of the city. The only down side is parking. There are a few parking garages spread around Florence, but do your research. The hotel has a partnership with a garage, they pick up your car in front of the hotel and it costs around 28 EUR a night, which is rather reasonable for city parking, and the valet service is a nice touch. Be aware that Florence has special driving zones, and the in-bound side of the street where the hotel is (Marked with BUS) is a no-drive direction. The other way is fine. Call ahead if you have any questions, the staff is very helpful. Breakfast is also very nice within the hotel. Fresh every morning. They will also hold your bags on the day you check out so you are free to roam the city. I really recommend this spot. You will enjoy this hotel!

Yelp
This hotel and the staff have been absolutely amazing. We are on the 2nd stop of our Italian honeymoon tour. Rome was just ok. The hotel - meh. Here, we have been treated like royalty since we showed up. They even left us a note and a bottle of prosecco (free!) in our room when we checked in. We went ahead and ordered another bottle when it was empty. ;) Breakfast here is provided until NOON. It isn't the best food I've had, but it's included and it's open even if you sleep in. The hotel staff even printed some Opera tickets that I hadn't printed out yet for me, made a restaurant reservation, and called a taxi. Super staff. The room is cool with no AC problems, clean, and the decor is very hip! Spend your money here when in Florence!

Yelp
LOCATION. LOCATION. LOCATION! Room Mate Luca is a popular European chain hotel with each hotel being is own theme. This location is a Spanish theme. It is perfectly located in a nice, quiet neighborhood that is walking distance to everything- bars, restaurants, fast food, train station, bus stops, laundromat, you name it! There is a laundromat just 2 doors down from this hotel which you utilize twice during our stay. So incredibly convenient. My boyfriend and I traveled and stayed at various hotels during our 2 week Europe trip. This hotel is by far the best in terms of service, location, room, breakfast buffet, amenities, etc. Our absolute favorite! We arrived by train via Santa Maria Novella station and hauled our luggages (2 each) to the hotel. It was about a 15 minute walk so without luggages it can be much quicker. Upon arrival we were asked if we would like an upgrade from a standard room to a deluxe room. My boyfriend asked what was the difference and they happily showed us both rooms. I must add that the standard room is very good size for what it is but since this was a birthday trip we decided to splurge and upgrade. The bed is very comfortable, the room is spacious, and the housekeepers did an excellent job of tidying up our room every day. But one of the highlights of our stay was Aman, who greeted and took care of us every morning at the breakfast buffet. His customer service is impeccable! He asked us every morning whether we would like him to prepare for us an espresso or cappuccino, then he would ask if we would like seconds. Another day he asked if we wanted fried eggs which was not out on display. He'd hand us fruits and made sure we were well fed and happy. So much so that my boyfriend actually said to me, "I look forward to seeing Aman every morning at breakfast". That says a lot!! Once we had moved on to a different hotel in Rome, breakfast was not the same without Aman and his service so if you are lucky enough to come across his path, you will be in for a treat! All in all I have to say this hotel is probably one of my favorite hotels that we've stayed at while traveling and we are avid travelers who have stayed at many different places. It's really hard to nail it right all across the board and in my opinion Room Mate Luca made us feel right at home with great value for our money. You cannot go wrong booking a room here!

Yelp
We visited Florence for our anniversary. Absolutely loved this hotel, it was clean, spacious, festive interior, and very friendly staff. I wish we would have stayed longer at this hotel and in Florence! The windows open up and we had a great view of the Duomo. Breakfast was amazing and they even make you your own cup of cappuccino if you ask in Italian! (Don't worry it is written in Italian on how to ask for it there). The only issue we had- which we had at all hotels- was the AC. Most hotels the AC was stabilized, there is a thermos in the room itself, but I believe it is only for especially hot days. We left the windows open one night and got pretty bit up by mosquitos- but this was our own fault. So just make sure to close the windows at night!

Yelp
If you like sleeping with bugs, I would advise you otherwise .... The reservation was for three people with a double and a single, for two nights. When we booked we checked that they had bathtubs. We sent an email at the time of booking so our two rooms were equipped and we received an email confirming it. But on arrival only one room had the bathtub. It was necessary to insist with the reception so that it finds a room that corresponds to our reservation. And when I say insist it's not just a sentence. It really took a lot of time. Because from the start it was a "yes we have single rooms with baths, but there is none in your"; "Are you sure you have been confirmed by e-mail? Wait, I have to find the message, maybe my colleague is mistaken when he answered you"; "Ah no this is not what the answer says" (because when a client asks to have something and is told "yes we have" it is not a confirmation it is just for the To say "we can but we will not?" ... and I pass green and ripe steps .... So it was a bad first impression, far too tiring. The first night we could almost not sleep because of a flying insect, probably a mosquito, and mostly because of fleas (or other) that bit us repeatedly in the double room. Our legs and arms were not very beautiful to see. Reported in the morning we were moved to room upstairs. We made it clear that what mattered to us was that the two rooms were in the same corridor and that they both had bathtubs. The second room was then moved to the same floor as the new room. When we settled in the evening we found that the second room did not have a bathtub. Tired we did not wish to change again. We reported the situation to the welcome that was justified and contradicted us without apology (the same lady with hair half-length discolored only when we had to insist the night before). She suggested we change rooms again as if for her it was a minor issue when for us it was too much. And suddenly we found ourselves again having a useless, tiring and ubuccessful discussion with this person. Especially tiring and that his way of speaking is aggressive. We then talked with the manager on the phone and then visu. He had to explain the situation to him several times, even though the lady at the reception had already explained it to her. The manager was not nice. His gestures were unprofessional (hands in pockets or rubbed against each other with a closed stitch). Not to mention the "what" and the many interruptions when we talked. He also justified himself by saying that he was on leave and that he had come from the hospital, whereas he was very tired, especially for us and that we could take it into account. He also indirectly accused us several times of bringing the insects ("it clings to suitcases, ..."). Note that his behavior was also a bit misogynous because sometimes he refused to talk to my wife. Even when I told her to stop and let her talk. After having doubted our words (it was hardly necessary to prove it by showing the bites), he told us to refund the night of the room with the chips. It was only later on the phone that he apologized for the situation and that we should have had the bathtubs. The second night we had more bites though fewer. We reported this when checking out. We were then asked to leave our e-mail address so that we could send our bank details and refund us. But the e-mail address has only been used only to make them justify and try to prove us by certificates that there are no bugs. They hardly treat us openly as liars. We replied that it mattered little and that the facts spoke for us. The reaction was ... the silence. So once again we explained the situation, but directly to the seat of the chain. We were told in a moderately polite way, without any effort on the tongue (why would they make an effort to speak anything other than English?), That they had not found any insects and that the Clients after us were not complained. So they had no responsibility but they would make a friendly gesture by reimbursing us 25% ..... I have never seen such arrogance and contempt towards clients. They treat us almost openly as liars (thankfully we were sent photos of the bites taken in their room) and agree to pay "graciously" 25%, while on two nights for a single and a double those In the double room have hardly slept and in addition have been bitten. Add to that that we made other hotels later on our stay in Italy and that is the only one we had these problems with. And they dare to say that it is not their responsibility ?! Even though we were offered the night at this hotel, I would rather pay and not sleep with bugs!

Yelp
If your planning a trip to Florence don't look past this hotel. Such an amazing price and close to everything. Most importantly it was very clean and modern and felt as if you were staying at a top of the line Hotel. Could not recommend more.

Yelp
My husband and I booked our honeymoon to Italy and Florence was our first stop. When we arrived, we were greeted by warm welcoming smiles! I want to specifically recognize Javier who works the front desk. He gave us great recommendations, made a reservation at a wonderful restaurant and made us feel welcome. Thank you for making our stay so memorable Javier!!
