Review of Room Mate Mario Hotel, Madrid
My friend and I stayed at the Room Mate Mario Hotel last April for four nights. On arrival, the hotel gives a great first impression: it’s stylishly decorated with a boutique feel, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The place is also very clean, which we appreciated throughout our stay.
However, the rooms are quite small. Ours overlooked the inner yard and felt quite claustrophobic due to the limited natural light. The sink was oddly placed in the main room, and there was only one chair, which made it less comfortable for two people. We raised our concerns and, to the hotel’s credit, they moved us to a larger room overlooking the street for our final night, which was a noticeable improvement.
The rooms are on the pricey side, and it’s clear that what you’re really paying for is the location. The hotel is very centrally located… we could walk everywhere, which made exploring Madrid really easy and enjoyable.
Breakfast was a highlight, with a generous spread of fresh pastries, fruit, and other options included for free.
Overall, I would recommend Room Mate Mario if you’re looking for a clean, centrally located hotel and don’t plan to spend much time in your room. It’s perfect for city explorers who value style and convenience over space.
