Roomies Penang

Big disappointment. The room is nice as in the photos, but this is just marketing. For this price, it is very below average accommodation. The room is located right on a super noisy main street. The balcony door is not insulated, so the noise in the room is like camping right on the main road (listen in the video). If you are not used to sleeping next to a very noisy road, you will not asleep here. When I asked the host (airbnb) upon arrival for a refund (because the noise level was unacceptable to me and I needed to find another accommodation), he refused to refund my money. Reason: I didn't ask before if the noise level in the room is super crazy high. 🙈 So I paid for nothing. 🤷‍♂️ Fortunately, I found a very quiet and more comfortable accommodation in the next town (about 8 minutes by car). For half price. 🙏

The room has working Aircon, but the noise from the street and the 05:30 Friday call to prayer means this is not the place for a light sleeper. To make things worse, there are so many ANTS in the room. I woke up with ants crawling on me in the bed. I checked out after one night and have been ghosted by the host since. I didnt even bother trying to ask for a refund. Save your money and go somewhere else!

A good place to stay in, the beds are really comfy and the rooms are clean and well styled making the most of the space. The only thing is that the walls are a little bit thin. Very friendly and helpfull staff! The breakfast is prepared as you arrive and really fresh! The hotel is convenient located too!

I stayed here in the private room with an en-suite. The room was massive and Spotlessly clean. The location is excellent for access to beach and bars and restaurants. I could actually just make out the sea through the trees. Breakfast was made by Amin on the roof and it was simple yet delightful, with fresh ingredients. I was also lucky enough to watch monkeys while I ate my breakfast one morning!! The stairs are a pain to walk up, but you only have to do it once with a case!

The cleanliness of this property is awesome, I can smell the fragrance as soon as I stepped into the room. The furnishing is splendid and most importantly, it's super comfortable! I would especially want to give a thumbs up for the breakfast services. It's a great recommendations for couples for friends' trips.

Very clean and organized. The staff is helpful and friendly. The beds are good. They have a good rooftop and a organic mini garden that they use to prepare our breakfast. Is there available guittars and some books, maps and a board with places to visit in Penang. You will have to take many steps to get there, but it worth.

Modern and clean place. A bit expensive compared to other hostels but worth the price. The room is small and you need to take long stairs to it, so if you are ok with climbing no worries. Pancakes for breakfast. 😋👌 Hitch hike to the national park and walk to Monkey Beach!

We stayed in a private room for 5 nights in March. We were extremely impressed with the service we received and the hotel amenties especially for the price they offer. When you first arrive it doesn't look like much from outside but you can't judge a book by its cover. Our rom was extremely clean and they offer free breakfast on the rooftop each morning where they also use fresh produce from their own garden. Amazing location it's right across the road from the beach, has a currency exchange and scooter hire place right underneath the bed and breakfast and there is also two small supermarkets and a laundry place underneath too.||||Incredibly easy to get to the hotel from the airport via the public bus, just make sure you check the times on the way back as we missed our bus and didn't leave ourselves enough time to get the next one. ||||If we ever return to Penang I wouldn't stay anywhere else, do yourself a favor and stay at Roomies :-)
