As a designer just back from the excitement of Dubai Fashion Week, I arrived in Georgia hoping for a relaxing escape. Instead, my experience at ROOMS TBILISI was disappointing, primarily due to poor service.
When we arrived, we learned our room wasn’t ready. We decided to wait in the hotel restaurant, where an unfriendly male waiter/host insisted we provide our room number just to be seated. Frustrated and feeling unwelcome, we chose to eat at the neighboring restaurant, Stamva, where the hospitality was refreshing.
The check-in process was just as unwelcoming. The staff seemed cold and uninterested, which set a negative tone. While the room itself was stylish and comfortable, the WiFi was a major issue. After several failed attempts to fix it, we gave up and tried to work in the lobby, but it turned into a noisy lounge at night, making it impossible to take calls.
At checkout, we shared our concerns about the WiFi, but the morning staff responded with indifference. A quick “sorry” was followed by a focus on mini-bar charges, leaving us feeling dismissed.
We decided to enjoy our last meal at the bar, but the same rude waiter returned to tell us we couldn’t eat there, even though we were almost finished. It was embarrassing, and the bar staff seemed uncomfortable with his approach. Since they were okay to serve us at the bar itself.
This experience led me to cancel staff accommodations for an upcoming event we’re planning in Georgia. While ROOMS TBILISI has beautiful rooms and great food, the service is a significant drawback. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you’re exploring the city or planning events.
It’s a shame because this hotel has so much potential. However, with service like this, it’s hard to believe it deserves a 4-star rating. Thankfully, we only booked one night instead of extending our stay, which spared us further disappointment.
