Google
Undoubtedly one of the best places to enjoy Indian and Nepali cuisine placed a the heart of Hiroshima which just 2 minutes walk from the exit gate of Hiroshima station. Most of the items that we eat are excellent and kid friendly.

If you're in search of an authentic Indian dining experience, this restaurant is an absolute MUST-visit. The portions are quite generous, and every dish is bursting with delicious flavors. As someone who is passionate about Indian food and even traveled to India for a month, I can confidently say that this restaurant truly captures the essence of Indian cuisine. What truly impressed me was the presence of many Indian people enjoying their meals at the restaurant. This is a testament to the quality and authenticity of the dishes. It was truly reminiscent of the incredible meals I had in India, and I never expected to find such an authentic taste here in Japan. As someone who frequently travels and tries different cuisines, this Indian restaurant stands out as one of the best non-Japanese meals I had during my trip. If you're a fan of Indian cuisine or simply looking to explore new flavors, I highly recommend paying this restaurant a visit. You won't be disappointed!🥲

Food was great, particularly recommend the vegetable curry and the paneer naan bread. The naan bread was soft and delicious, definitely worth coming back for.

Nice delicious Indian meal close to Schinkansen station in Hiroshima. Wait time was there but handled well. Food was good and authentic.

Coming to this restaurant was my attempt at trying a new cuisine and I had a fantastic experience. I visited this restaurant 3 times back in the beginning of April. The food here is authentic and well seasoned. The staff provides excellent customer service and the prices are reasonable. I was able to try new foods here and I liked just about everything. If I am ever in Hiroshima again, I will happily revisit. Thank you for giving me a lovely experience at your restaurant and giving me a positive introduction to Indian food!

Close to our hotel, and needed an Indian fix. And did it hit the spot. Great service (English) Great food. Had salad, tikka pork, seafood masala, chicken coconut cashew and rice. All of it was amazing.

After days of Japanese food, this was the perfect comfort meal! The flavors were rich, authentic, and exactly what we needed. My husband especially loved the taste of home. Highly recommend for anyone craving great Indian food in Japan! Also big portions!

As an Australian with Indian heritage currently in Japan, I was not expecting to get good authentic Indian food during my holiday in the Land of the Rising Sun. But it turns out I was wrong. Just a stone's throw away from our hotel sat the Roopali, and by the gods it was the goods and then some! Myself and an associate popped in and both got Thali meals, myself getting the Roopali thali with also comes with tandoori chicken and sheekh kebab. Absolutely massive meals got served to us by very friendly staff, and they tasted divine! The soup was very tasty, the naan was huge with a great taste and texture, the chicken and kebab were superb, and the curries were as authentic as they come! Even the lassi and plum sour I got was amazing! I have scarcely ever had Indian food this good anywhere, and I've had a lot of Indian food in my lifetime! Would 10/10 come back here if I ever find myself in Hiroshima again!

Yelp
All my favorite Indian places in Hiroshima keep closing after they get me hooked. I went to Roopali attempting to find a new spot. The food is good, but doesn't match the flavor and quality of some other spots that used to be in Hiroshima, and that you can find in other areas of Japan. Lunch sets are usually what I go for at these type of places. The nan is large and nice and fluffy, but could have stayed a little longer in the tandoor for a crispier underbelly. The curry had nice flavor, but needed way more heat. The salad was not my favorite as I wasn't feeling the dressing. The rice was Japanese rice that had been overlooked with a little saffron in it. If you just want one flavor of curry, maybe it would be better to order a curry and a nan instead of a set. The lassi was pretty standard, but the larger size than other restaurant's sets was appreciated. I love to have it with my curry! Keep in mind the people smoke in here, and you will of course smell it even if you are sitting at a nonsmoking table. Thankfully not one started smoking until we were about finished eating. I would return if I was craving Indian food in the area. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here like I did last time.

Yelp
Really good Indian! The Nann bread was the highlight as it is over a foot long! Had the masala and palak chicken Curries. Both were delicious and service was excellent. My only negative comment is that the amount of meat in each curry was minimal. Otherwise this would be a 5 star rating!

Yelp
Omg that was so good! I order a paneer it was so tasty. I was getting tired to eat japanease food, i was feeling for something different a bit. We got in and i felt like i was somewhere else. All kitchen crew and staff are Indien i knew i was at the good place. The naan are to die for. So big and so good. If you like indian food I would go there. Price for varies between 1500¥ and 2000¥ for a set dinner ( lots of food). The customer beside me left and they drop money. As soon as the employe notice they ran outside to give it to them. That was a nice gesture ! Please stop by ! For something different in Hiroshima!

Yelp
We enjoyed having Indian cuisine as a change from all the Japanese food we have been eating. The butter chicken was very good. We loved the generous portion of garlic nan. My husband thought his curry was just so so.

Yelp
This has got to be the best Indian food I have ever had. I had the lunch special which I could seriously share with another person. Reasonably priced, I think $12.00 for lunch and a drink. I can't wait to take the husband back there to try it.

Yelp
Great Indian food! The naan and the curry were delicious. I would have given five stars, but I like the Chicken Tikka back home better

Yelp
Excellent Indian cuisine in the Japan! Who would have thought. The meats were perfectly cooked and the curries were perfectly spiced for us. We choose to get a lot of food by getting the "Special Set" for two people, which was way too much. It could fed at least three, so it got a bit expensive. Despite that we were very happy with the food and would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Looking for a break from Japanese food or staying near the train station in Hiroshima? Our case was more the latter than the former - getting back into town after a long hot day with two fussy kids was not high on our list, so we looked around for an option near our hotel at the station; Roopali popped up as a top contender. Indian in Japan, we said? Why not. It was a great choice. As delicious as any curry shop on Curry Lane or in Little India in New York, the choices were plentiful. Huge delicious fluffy naan, particularly the garlic one (garlic is a flavor we've missed being in Japan for a while) was a great accompaniment to the curries. We were disappointed that there weren't many lamb dishes, but there were many other options of interest. All were fully customizable in terms of spice and accompaniments. The restaurant is large and we were easily accommodated at 5:15 on a Sunday. There were still plenty of tables available when we left at 6. There appears to be a smoking area within the restaurant if anyone is very sensitive (we are, but thankfully no smokers came in). Their English was excellent and they were very kind and welcoming to children. Definitely consider a visit to Roopali if you are craving some spice or just want to patronize a super nice local business in Hiroshima. You will leave happy, and certainly not hungry. They also offer takeout for anyone in need.

Yelp
It was average food and average service, but yes as long as I got Indian food to fill my tummy in Japan I was a content! We ordered the foxed price lunch with one gravy and a huge naan. Gravy was a--ok! And the mango lassi wasn't nice at all.

Yelp
My husband and I live in Osaka and decided to visit this historical city on a few of our days off. We were both craving Indian and saw the excellent reviews on Yelp for Roopali so we decided to give it a whirl. So glad that we did! It was delicious indeed. Great, smiling service as well. I highly recommend the Paneer Nan, Pork Masala and a bottle of King Fisher Strong. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Went here for dinner on a Monday evening after work. Great for English speaking tourist who does not know Japanese because the menu is in English and the staff speaks. The food was delicious! Garlic naan and chicken masala. The curry portion was on the small side but the naan was huge! Great for dipping! Note for business travelers, they do accept credit card.

Yelp
Best curry in Hiroshima!!! My wife and I had the garlic naan, paneer, samosas, and butter chicken which were all excellent. You can watch the chef preparing Naan.

Yelp
Holy naan Batman. This place was amazing. For starters the staff was very friendly and spoke fluent English which is helpful for me. The menu is easy to navigate and they have several dinner sets available. I personally had the dinner set with two curry choices and it was definitely enough curry for the amazing garlic naan I had. Also tried the coconut naan and it was amazing as well. If you are in the area of Hiroshima it is just a quick transit to this location and you will not regret it.

Yelp
Excellent food, good service, easy to find, and English menus. A great break from Japanese

Yelp
Love this place. Dropped in on a whim. Ordered a take away. Ready in 15 mins. Partner and I devoured the entire order - loads of food, great value - and we'd go back anytime. Restaurant was packed with Indian customers, which is always a good sign. Stop reading reviews and just go. If you like Indian food you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Went here while on vacation with my family. Kids were tired of Japanese food so this was a welcome switch. Food and service were both wonderful. Naan portions were huge! My daughter thought it was the best food she'd had so far on our whole Japan visit (my apologies to the Japanese!). I did notice that the rice seemed to be the Japanese "sticky" rice vs the Basmati we usually find at Indian restaurants in the USA, so if you are particular about your rice, this might be of concern. We didn't mind a bit.

Yelp
Delicious!!!! A little out of the way, and curry portions could be a little bigger but they more than compensate with the size of their naans! A great dining experience and very friendly staff. Beautiful Indian cuisine!!

Yelp
Back in 2012 while we were still in Tokyo, we visited Hiroshima and this has been one of the very best restaurant we have ever visited. Still remember so vividly, we went for a dinner after a long day in Hiroshima. My husband and me, both ordered thalis and it was a lot of super delicious food. We have been to a lot of decent restaurants in and around Tokyo and nothing was so authentic as it was at this place. We were enjoying food slowly and were the last customers leave that night and we were super impressed with their last chore of the day. They were cleaning up the restaurant until it sparkled specially kitched. Nothing like the feeling that we know food outside is also cleaned and cooked cleanly as we would at our homes. Would definitely visit Hiroshima to visit this restaurant again sometime in future. Oh! Forgot to mention, their masala chai was one of the best we have ever had.
