Lots to recommend: great location overlooking Public Square. Big windows in living area; lots of light. the living room couch is comfy, the TV and internet work. ||Big drawback: no windows in bedrooms feels like a fire trap. Cleveland requires bedrooms to have windows by law, but the concierge explained that was waived for this building because it is "historic"? Yet the developers installed an interior atrium so the upper floors all have windows and light. No fire extinguisher in unit.||The dishwasher had a couple of inches of standing water in it. I called engineering and they said it worked. I washed dishes by hand.|The dryer left clothes quite damp. I called engineering and they said that is the way it works! I draped sheets, towels and clothing on closet rod to air dry.||The kitchen is advertised as fully equipped. Things I expected but they did not have: scissors, sharp knives, a whisk, a spatula, a cheese grater, metal strainer or colander. There was exactly one pot and one pan. One large bowl and one small bowl. |Things I purchased: A drip coffee maker, electric water kettle, all the items above, cereal bowls, coffee mugs, windex, dish soap.||The main issue I think is management. The apartment clearly had not been inspected prior to our arrival. The floor was filthy, I spilled some water and when I wiped it up with a paper towel it was black. The TV cables were unplugged from the wall and the screen. The dryer lint screen was full. The interior dryer lint compartment looked like it had never been cleaned, it had about 3" of gunk caked on. ||A big issue is the laundry. The resident laundry room smells vile, and even if the machines were clean they run on coins! Really, who has quarters? ROOST provides clean linens once a week. I asked for sheets and pillowcases, so I could make the bed up myself. When I unfolded the "clean" sheets they were very damp, and smelled moldy. I put a "fresh" pillowcase on a pillow and when I plumped it up a cloud of white dust billowed up from the fabric. Needless to say I took it right off. So, I had to launder the sheets in the stack unit. Not impossible, but you have to do 1-2 pieces at a time and the cycle takes about 2 hours & air dry in closet, which takes a couple of hours||Overall the concept is great, they started with a good design and some quality items (All Clad pans and Bosch washer/dryer) but upkeep is dismal. The pans were put away dirty, the dishwasher, washer and dryer filters had seemingly never been cleaned. The shelves and drawer bottoms were dirty. The glass table needed wiping and most of all the floor. So dirty, even an hour after housekeeping cleaned it. I suspect it has never been mopped? The white gunk on the table lamp had never been cleaned off. Things like this might just be a training/management issue?
