If I could give this place 6 stars I would. My partner and I had lobster and it was ruddy brilliant. Our 13 month old daughter was with us and they had a great selection for kids. The service was really friendly and the place has a wonderful atmosphere and a great selection on the menu. I would really recommend eating here, especially with families as it's very family friendly. The food was beautifully prepared, I always think lobster is very easy to get wrong but this was perfect. A meaty, beautifully seasoned and buttery lobster served with perfect sweet potato fries and a lovely homemade aioli. We actually both stuck to water but the drinks selection looked good. Loved it.

Popped in with my daughter for a late lunch, we've been before so knew what to expect and we weren't disappointed. The crayfish dirty fries and coleslaw was amazing. My daughter had the curried vegan sausage dirty fries and tofu dippers with aoli. All very yummy.

If you visit Margate and do not visit Roost Restaurant & Cafe - you'll have missed an absolute gem of a place in the whole town! Wonderfully accommodating and warmest welcomes you'll feel when entering the cosy setting. A delightful menu with vegan, veggie and meat options. I had a soft shell crab burger which came with a catch of fries! I honestly couldn't finish it all - possibly because I was dipping into my daughter's Macaroni Cheese which came with a succulent and flavoursome pulled pork too😍 Had I been spending more than a day in Margate I would have loved to try literally everything on the menu - maybe they can do a tasting plate where you get an amuse-bouche of their delights! You'll find Buddah Bowls, Jerk Chicken, Asian wings, hog burgers and if you grab a seat/bench facing the window, you can see the sea. Price wise, you are looking at around £18pp if you're having a main and an alcoholic drink but let me tell you it is worth it. Little pooch friendly place too - do check it out.

5 Stars The staff that work here couldn't possibly be any more helpful. The food comes at a good pace. We have come here over 3 times and not once been dissatisfied. It has won many awards such as Kent life twice, the good food guide and a certificate of excellence from TripAdvisor. Highly recommended

TL:DR The food here is great, book ahead to ensure a table. If they offer to set you loose in the room downstairs before your table is ready, you’ll discover a ping pong table, a pool table and a record player teetering on the edge of some antique furniture. It was filled with young kids, which at first was a bit hectic, but 2 minutes later I was having a game of ping pong with them. It was cute. It’s a laid back place to have a responsibly sourced chicken lunch or dinner. The food is cooked to order so you get a juicy, perfectly cooked chicken when it arrives. They don’t rush you while you eat. If you’re veggie or vegan, don’t worry! There’s an entire section of the menu dedicated to you. A Buddha bowl (which I always love) and lots of other cool stuff. All in all, highly recommended, charming little gem of a place.

Lovely place, the food was excellent. Nice atmosphere and lovely staff. I liked the decor too. One of the best places in Margate.

Margate is not what you read about it. It's not the trendy place it's supposed to be. It's an old seaside resort that is trying hard to get back to it's former glory. It will take a few more years before this place is what they say it is. Nevertheless we had a good time. One that is true , the skies are phenomenal. See my picture.

A great find - the host was very welcoming, and the food was delicious. We came for brunch and had a crab burger and pancakes (separately!) - both were fantastic.

Yelp
Seemed promising, but was a bit of a let down. The ribs were served at inconstant temperatures, with the top being too hot and the bottom being cold. Didn't even try the chicken as the ribs didn't leave us with any interest to continue. The server was also rather harsh and unfriendly at times, especially with the way they greeted customers. The door was locked and they seemed so bored of opening the door, but this was how you were greeted - not great. I'd say give it a try, but don't have high expectations.
