Loved our stay here! Very friendly service at the front desk where we got several personal recommendations for the area - restaurants and places to do. The rooms are huge apartments with washer-drier, full kitchen and multiple closets. You have everything you need to stay here comfortably for days or weeks. Design is nice though the building itself isn't brand new, it feels more like a rental unit or airbnb - bit worn and lacking some of the hotel features like central light switch. But frankly none of that took away from our experience. Area feels like the place to be. Central, nice vibe and great restaurants around the corner. Admittedly we were woken up at 6am by construction work but I think it was street work and not an everyday thing.

Having an apt style hotel with full kitchen in this area for this price was great. I feel like this place must have been beautiful when it opened (maybe 10 years ago?) - Le Labo toiletries, Sferra towels, West Elm furniture; however, some of the fixtures haven't held up well to a high traffic situation like a hotel or bnb. Amenities were lacking. This hotel is NOT handicapped/stroller accessible (flight of stairs from sidewalk to get to elevator to rooms). No gym, only 1 bike available, coffee service lacking (no coffee filters, only provided beans for 1 cup of coffee for 1 person). Multiple flickering or totally out lightbulbs in common spaces. Some staff were extremely helpful. VERY loud HVAC/construction from nearby/neighbors/hallway (although these are things you'd expect from a city so can't complain).

Beautiful building with character, and a comfortable “home away from home”! Only thing that wasn’t perfect was the rooms/furniture felt slightly dated, and the glass coffee table knocked me in the shins a few too many times as it was hard to see. My sister’s room had an issue with the shower head squealing, but once front desk was made aware they were attentive to our concerns and maintenance was eventually able to fix it. Otherwise, apartment style rooms with in-unit washer/dryer made for an awesome stay! You are able to cook if wanted, as a full fridge/freezer and stove/oven are also available in all units. Location is ideal, with convenient shops (including a Target with groceries) in close proximity. Safety was never a concern, as they keep front doors locked during evening/overnight hours for anyone who isn’t a guest. Jabriyah was a delight, and was the front desk person we interacted with the most - she made us feel so welcome and comfortable from start to finish! Would recommend this Roost location to anyone visiting Philly!

Google
The place is nice, location is great, but what makes this hotel great is definitely the staff. Anyone who reads all the reviews before booking - like me - will know that Sean is a famous part of this place. And he deserves all the glory. But the girls are also amazing, the cleaning staff, every single one of them made us feel at home for the time we were there. We are very thankful for each one of them!

We stayed here for my son's college graduation. 10/10. Location is great, unit (junior suite) was huge, beautiful and well appointed. The front desk folks were friendly and helpful.

Google
Great place to stay in Philly. Location is excellent. Rooms are comfortable and spacious. Comes with a living room and fully functional kitchen. Bed is very comfortable. For the same price or less than any other lodging in the area, this place is the best choice.

We stayed here when our flight was canceled & we were stranded in Philly for 2 days. After being in an airport all day & in a shitty hotel the night before, Roost was such a welcome reprieve. It was the PERFECT place for our family of 8. We were able to comfortably fit in 2 apartments, with room for us to spread out and relax. Thank you SO MUCH, Sean- for helping me get everything figured out & providing such a welcoming atmosphere.

Google
The Roost Rittenhouse was a very last minute booking and a gem of an apartment style hotel that accepted not only dogs, but cats as well. The rooms were clean, of good size (we stayed in a two bedroom) and exactly what was advertised for the appropriate price we paid. The staff were helpful, friendly, kind, and generous. Sean, who was at the front desk the majority of our stay, was a standout employee and a welcoming and exceedingly helpful front face of the hotel throughout our trip. Location was great as were the other guests. All in all a great value option that you can bring your furry friends to. Corporate style decor and only limited television channels. Second bedroom had no tv but there was one in the living room right beside it. Full kitchen and dining table. Comfortable living area. Thank you again to all of the staff. Happy Holidays!

Yelp
clean, spacious, beautiful accomodation, in a great location. close to the best restaurants, shops, museums, parks, music, and theaters, yet quiet with gorgeous views. To be so close to all the action while have a peaceful retreat is priceless.

Yelp
I'm not sure how this is rated as a 4 star hotel. I would say 3.5 at best. The only good thing about it is the size of the rooms. Other than the room sizes, it lacks a lot to where when I'm back, I'd rather stay at a hotel. I've booked similar type of stays in other cities before which offered much more. The lobby and hallways were hot and humid. It's Nextdoor to a takeout place so you can actually smell old grease through the air vents. At one point the refrigerator continuously beeped all night. I did put in some requests such as asking for additional towels, pillows, tissues etc but none were given. I asked again and got additional Towels. I was told that there weren't additional Pillows so all they could give me was an extra decorative pillow which came in a space bag but smelled like grease and cigarettes. The staff were friendly and nice which was probably the next best part about staying here but in the future, I'd stay at a hotel when in Philly.

Yelp
Very large rooms and a fabulous location. Danielle at the front desk was outstanding as were a number of other folks whose names I unfortunately can't remember. The rooms are a bit spartan, but they are comfortable and the kitchen was great. I stayed about four weeks and it was the perfect combination of apartment and hotel.

Yelp
I had such a great stay at ROOST Rittenhouse. Both Sean and Jaybriah at the front desk were incrediblly helpful with everything while we were there. The room was excellent, the location was ideal, and I would stay again anytime.

Yelp
A little hard to find because the building doesn't have a sign, but it's right next to that parking lot, up the short staircase. After my horrible stay at the Homewood Suites in University City, I was greeted by the front desk and allowed to check in a hour early. The amenities are amazing and I immediately took advantage of the free in-unit washer dryer. It's spacious with a great kitchen and super centrally located. I walked to the Christmas Market with friends and returned back to my nice, warm, clean hotel room. Cons: internet can lag a bit on the phone (but not on my laptop) and the dryer can take forever. These were just minor complaints so didn't really bother me. Admittedly only stayed for a few days, but I slept well at night, felt welcomed by staff and people living here alike, and was able to walk to an array of restaurants. Not sure how this place holds up as a long term stay, but some of the other reviews seem promising. Definitely recommend staying here if you can.

Yelp
My daughter had an extended stay in Philly for an internship. Everything about ROOST was perfect! Her unit was comfortable and perfectly located. This area of Philly has so much to offer. Plenty of restaurants, shopping and green space nearby. But the best part about her stay was the staff. From the initial call to Erica and the friendly faces at the front desk (shout out to Sean), I felt comfortable having her stay at ROOST. Would highly recommend!!!

Yelp
We have now stayed here four or five times and it's always a wonderful stay. Rooms so comfy and the staff always goes out of our way for us. Shout outs to Sean,Lisa, Jamal, Carmen and Austin But everyone always goes above and beyond.

Yelp
Loved it! Friendly staff, great location walkable to so many great bars, restaurants and shopping. Right across from Boyd's department store which is top-notch. The entrance is small, dark and not what you'd expect so arriving at night, our Uber driver had a very tough time finding it. And there are stairs outside and inside the entrance so lugging luggage is a bit of a chore and ADA folks may have issues. Also, there is not a restaurant or room service but anything you want is steps away. That said, we loved everything about it. It's more "extended stay" than hotel so it feels upscale homey. We wanted to move in. The public areas were warm and inviting and our room was more like a hip studio apartment which suited us well. The kitchen was fully outfitted and the bathroom was perfect. We had a corner room with a bunch of windows and loved it. We had a great time on our whirlwind week in Philadelphia and would absolutely stay here again.

Yelp
I would give this place 20 stars! Absolutely the BEST accommodations I've EVER had in Philadelphia. Beautiful furnishings, upscale European appliances that you will have to google to figure out, landmark building in the safest and most lively neighborhood. Excellent attention to every detail and accommodating on everything else.

Yelp
Wonderful weeklong stay near Rittenhouse Square! We stayed here for a week for Spring Break and had a wonderful time. Our trip was originally scheduled to be over New Year's, but when Omicron hit we decided to reschedule and the staff at Roost Rittenhouse kindly helped us move our prepaid, nonrefundable stay to April at no extra cost. So we already had a great pre-impression even before arriving! We loved our apartment, and adored the central location, and the staff overall continued to be a highlight. When our flight arrived a couple of hours before check in, Sean and Lisa helped us to complete all our check in paperwork early and held our bags safely until the room was ready. Every time we came or left, whoever was at the front desk was friendly and helpful (it's a really nice feature to have someone available 24/7, and is one of the bonuses over an independent apartment rental) and they even gave us a late check out. We stayed in a 1-bedroom (no den) on the second floor, and loved our spot. Though we could hear voices from the outside hallway very occasionally, the soundproofing between apartments must be amazing because we could never hear our neighbors even though we saw them and our bedroom abutted their space. Same goes for the street - it's a very busy part of downtown, so there is naturally some street noise (bring earplugs if that's a big concern for you), but we found the windows to be really good at blocking the city racket. The bed was super comfortable, there was loads of room to unpack clothes, etc, and the bathroom was spacious with a nice rain shower. We enjoyed the nice couch and living room setup, and the Apple TV worked great for us as apple users. Wifi was fast and seamless. I didn't cook in the kitchen aside from reheating and making coffee (too much great food nearby!!), but I looked in all the cupboards and drawers and appreciated that there was slightly more than minimal gear to cook. The entire experience seems really well thought out. Having a good quality washer and dryer is AMAZING, but remember to bring your own detergent. I packed some tide pods to make it easy and so I didn't have to shop while there - but there is a CVS across the street and a target kitty-corner. Two other things we enjoyed were how a lot of the lights were adjustable/dimmable and the Davines products in the bathroom. Extra shout out to Sean for being such a great welcoming presence!! :) We had a great time and hope to return!

Yelp
This place was great! There was a mix up with our room initially but they fixed it asap. They were helpful and kind the entire time and the room was comfortable. Such nice people here! It is a short walk or Uber/cab ride to all kinds if cool places so location is amazing. We travel all over the world and would highly recommend this place.

Yelp
10/06/2020 UPDATE: To date, the hotel has refused to refund me for my stay. In fact, they told my employer that I can get a credit to use for a future stay ONLY IF I remove my review. It's unclear how a credit would help since I would not recommend this insect-ridden place to anyone, let alone my coworkers or clients. Moreover, this "offer" is squarely against Yelp's policy that prevents businesses from pressuring customers to review negative reviews. It makes you wonder how many other people they've pressured into removing a negative review. Frankly, it's shocking that this hotel still refuses to do what's right and take responsibility for its actions. ORIGINAL REVIEW I would NOT recommend this hotel. My room had both live and dead insects, a dirty towel, and I have yet to receive a refund (among other issues). I checked into the Roost Rittenhouse hotel in August for a month-long business trip. Upon arriving to my room, I realized the room was not the one bedroom + office that I reserved and for which I paid a higher rate. I asked to be moved the room I originally reserved and was told that room would not be available for two days. When I asked the front desk attendant if there was anything that could be done to address my inconvenience, I was told to call the manager myself. It's unclear why she could not call the manager and attempt to make things right. Two days later, I moved into a new room. I was immediately greeted by a dirty towel (see picture). When I called housekeeping, she explained that the dirty towel was not the hotel's fault because it uses a third-party to wash towels. But the hotel staff, not the third-party, chooses which towels to hang in the rooms. The final straw came when I encountered at least 5 different insects, including a cockroach (see pictures). The hotel claimed to have sent an exterminator, but he managed to leave the dead roach and other insects in plain sight in the middle of the room. Needless to say, I checked out immediately. One month later, I have yet to receive a refund for my stay. In the spirit of failing to take ownership yet again, the hotel has ignored and delayed returning calls from me and my employer. I have resorted to disputing the charge on my credit card. For others considering where to stay, I highly recommend the AKA Rittenhouse.

Yelp
I love love LOVE The Roost Rittenhouse!!! Its my favorite place to stay in Philadelphia!!! I recently stayed at the Roost for 9 weeks for work. What a great experience. Convenient location, great apartment and excellent staff. They make you fell like you are part of a family. They are the friendliest most accommodating crew you can imagine. Lisa, Sean, Jamal, Carmen, Dee, Austin, Charles, Ameen, James, Jason, and anyone else I may have forgotten by name are the best hotel staff in Philadelphia. Caring and friendly, and willing to help you with your stay with a smile on their face. I can go on and on about the staff, but I will leave it there. I can't wait to see them all on my next trip to Philadelphia.

Yelp
Pros: *Friendly, helpful, personable staff *Clean rooms *High-quality amenities *No interruptions during the day *Lovely lobby with fireplace *Simple walk of 0.6 miles to the nearby gym: The Sporting Club at The Bellevue *Near (walk to) several amazing vegan restaurants: V Street, Wiz Kid, Bar Bonbon, PS&Co. *Short ride to super amazing vegan restaurant: Vedge Cons: *As opposed to wood tables or ottomans, the coffee tables in the living rooms are edge-less glass tops ... not an ideal surface for relaxing, like if you need to put your feet up after a long day of walking ... and also difficult to see at night, creating a potential trip hazard.

Yelp
My husband and I were in Philadelphia for a little over two months and were lucky enough to stay at Roost Rittenhouse. The apartment itself is not only beautifully laid out/decorated, but it also felt incredibly homey. The location is fantastic, too. We were smack dab in the middle of everything and all was within walking distance. I do have to say that the very best thing about our experience was interacting with the amazing staff! Everyone at the front desk was not only personable, but gave great advice for places to eat and sights to see. I have to send a special thanks to Nate, Edward, and Marisol for being so incredibly awesome! If it isn't already obvious from my rating or gushing review: I can't recommend Roost Rittenhouse enough!

Yelp
This hotel had great design and was clean. Stayed in one of the Penthouse units. The team was very accommodating during our visit. Highly recommend ROOST!
