After years of driving through the little town of Newington, I've noticed an establishment downtown which changes names often.
This time while driving through I felt a brightness, and an energy coming from the new restaurant, Rooster Co.
Yeah... Another chicken joint, right?
So I walked in and was greeted with a cheerful atmosphere and a bustling room full of happy diners and drinkers.
The elegant hostess came up and immediately seated me. Within 1 minute a waiter came gliding by with a glass of ice water. He patiently helped me with the menu, in a friendly and professional manner.
I ordered the rotisserie half chicken with polenta and a Mexican cheese. I was amazed with my first bite of the polenta, and soon dug into the drumstick of the roasted chicken.
It Immediately reminded me of my mother's outside rotisserie from the 60s and 70s where she roasted off whole chickens and various other meats.
The chicken was mildly crispy outside, juicy and tender inside and was absolutely delicious.
My hopes are that they don't change the name or anything about this find eatery.
I will certainly make it a mainstay from here on out to visit Rooster Co.
Tucked in on the main drag right there in town, you can't miss it.
This place has some of the best food in all of Newington and beyond.
