The New Rules of NYC Greenmarkets During Coronavirus Crisis

"At Rooted Family Farm, one of the two outgrowths of Windfall Farms that occupies a Union Square tent, I encountered pristine, pricey salad greens — especially a triple-washed mesclun mix brightened with edible flowers — and Martha Stewart–paint-palette Ameraucana chicken eggs; preordering there sped up our transaction." - Grub Street

I absolutely loved our experience here this past weekend. I got so tired of Denver Down Farms expensive prices and wanted to find somewhere to take my little girl to have fun and pick pumpkins that wasn’t gonna cost me a lot of money. There was no charge to get in, fun stuff for my little girl to do, and everything was cheap!! I got pumpkins, sunflowers, and paid for 5 people to do a hayride and total I spent $60. John and Shannon are very nice and helpful too. Their honey is the best honey I have ever had too and I get honey from all over!! My family and I will definitely be coming back!

We had a great time. Very welcoming, fun, and will be coming back. Wonderful family. Hay rides, pumpkin patch, and loved the new additions to the play area and sitting area.

Great selection of pumpkins and gourds (both u-pick and precut) as well as snacks and local honey. Hayrides, play area and picnic tables round out the experience.

Such a special place. We go every year to pick out our pumpkins. They have great variety of sizes and colors. My son loves that he can actually cut his own. The new addition of the pumpkin chuck and smash was a big hit! Try some of their boiled peanuts if you go...so good

If you’re looking for a local family farm this is the one! This was my toddlers first pumpkin patch and we LOVED it. Will return at Christmas time for sure!

Brought the kids for pumpkins a few months ago came back for a tree!! They have a great selection good prices and wonderful service!! You are definitely helping local to shop here. Enjoy some hot chocolate as well! They offer apple cider for $2 a cup and it is probably the best apple cider I have had. Wonderful if your looking for a family experience.
