Roots in Banff is a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts. We Found some amazing pieces at Roots. The store offered an excellent selection of gear and clothing for hiking, skiing, and more. The staff were friendly and offered great advice. I'lI definitely be back! It’s a beautiful store. It’s also located on Banff Ave so you will have some great views!

Staff were ready to help us find what we needed. Prices were standard for Roots quality pieces. The staff were not knowledgeable about Indigenous Status cards and were not aware of the tax exemption attached to it. Not sure if that is common for more places in Banff or not, only one store we entered knew about them.

The guy at the store was so so so rude !! We left something at the store yesterday and went back to get it today, only after one of the employees confirmed over the phone that it’s there for us. We specially went back there and they treated us so badly ! They made us wait for no reason, at the end to only tell us that they don’t have anything. Someone really need to do something about the customer service at this store ! Specially that guy who was working today.

Great selection, great customer service and very clean and tidy store. They have plenty of Roots Banff merchandise and gear for hiking, skiing and boarding.

I used to like Roots a lot. But today I found one of the sweater which I only worn couple times and washed once pilling seriously, and the pill sticks everywhere with my other cloths. I went to the shop and ask if there's anything I did wrong to it. The staff said the only thing she can tell me is to wash it in laundry bag with cold water and flat dry, which I've told her I did. I asked her what can I do with this one which is already pilling badly? just throw it away and never buy your sweater again? and she said yes If you like. I have to say the customer service and cloth quality was too disappointing for such a famous brand. That's all.

An excellent location, the store is laid out perfectly so kudos to the manager and roots sales team! I grabbed some trademark roots jogging pants and was helped by two amazing staff members. The location is very clean. Overall I’d say with the amount of people that visit here during tourist season it looks like hardly anyone was there at all that is how spotless it is

Had a horrible interaction where the petite employee who was working the “Banff” section of clothing today had decided me and my wife were not good enough to wear roots clothing. She was snappy and irritable when we were just politely asking for pricing (we were only doing that as we didn’t want to mess up the area she was folding). Completely unprofessional and it upset my wife. If you don’t like working in a job where you have to interact with people I recommend you find a different job.

We were shopping at Roots yesterday. We are locals and had absolutely amazing service from Kate. There was a shirt I was looking for in a particular size.. I was happy to order online, but she said let me do it for you. :) she was so welcoming, and so happy to help you have a superstar of an employee there. Thank you, Kate!

Did I just buy my new favorite shirt here?!? When I'm traveling, I like to get souvenirs that if you know, you know. I don't want my shirt to say "I visited Canada" My Roots shirt is a Disc Golf Invitational and so it combines my love of travel and disc golf. There were a bunch of cool clothing. Banff was a magical little town and I'm really glad I was able to get a shirt to remind me

A solid 2.5. Boring attire with high prices. A trendy apparel shop for the locals in my opinion. We didn't purchase anything.

This store is EXPENSIVE. I mean it's beautiful and the stuff is quality but $74 for a pair of plain grey sweats that say Roots. OUCH. Love the décor, the look, attentive staff, but I cannot get over the price tags. I did try on a pair of sale boots that were cut but weren't comfortable so even 40% off of $260 couldn't get me to drop a dime here. The kiddo section had the cutest hats and mitts but again you're looking at $30 plus for a toque. I thought some ear muffs were cute but again for $40, I'd better not because my kiddo will probably borrow them, lose them, and then I'll have to eat her for dinner. Just kidding but not really ;-) So in summary super cute stuff but I need the boxing day/black Friday sales in order to shop here.

Was shopping in Banff and came into the Roots store. Had never been here before and I really liked it. They have really nice leather items and cool clothing. The staff was friendly and helpful. We ended up getting two bags and a wallet. Great quality items. They are not cheap but they are good.

No wonder this place got terrible reviews, their staff is awful! We came in because they were advertising a massive sale, up to 50% off and 30% on top of sale. I love my Roots hoodie and was looking to add to my collection. We saw something that was on sale but not the right size, and then we found something we thought was the same item but in the right size and asked an associate. She picked up these pants and said "NO WAY, they are not on sale, they are completely different, obviously" (btw it was not obvious, both were black sweats with white tie cord but one had a cinched bottom and the other one was looser and less cinched, seriously???) She was so rude and so mean we left the store immediately. I'm not even sure she was interested in selling any clothes just being rude to people. It was a just a small mistake and we asked a question wasn't like we told her the product sucks or something. So strange her reaction and the rudeness. Would not visit, the discounts were not worth it anyway.

I ordered a hoodie on the 3rd of july I already payed in july too. Today is the 13.th of April ONE YEAR LATER and I still received nothing. I contacted customer service countless times...they are unable to help me. I cannot recommend this company at all ! I still have a tracking number and I contacted aramex...they said it's wrong and they don't have something for me, cause roots gave me wrong informations. It's so annoying after 10 Month !!! This company is a big fool.

Set in front of one of the most beautiful backdrops of Canada, this Roots shows its roots well in Banff, Alberta. Roots usually have chalet like A frame high beam interiors, focusing on the all natural loving Canadian. With casual and outdoor, sporting wear, toques hats, jackets, down vests, and zip-up fleeces. I think Roots shows well in this location, and this store is quite spacious and has more than amenable staff working. With the daily onslaught of Olympic diarrhea on the tube. My friend was trying to find some sort of patriotic Olympic body wear and when The Bay fell short he thought he should at least check out Roots. Of course The Bay and Zellers have this monopoly, so he left Roots disappointed. Although I was not in market for shopping for any clothing this weekend, I did quite enjoy browsing at this Roots. Of course I expected the regular motifs, prices and clothing aesthetic but it rung louder with snow topped mountain tops looming outside.

This store had decent stock that was well maintained but seemed to run low on XS items. You can get Roots "Banff" stuff here so it's a lovely way to take a piece of Banff home. Other than that, this Roots store is like most others in Canada.

This is a review about this particular store. We came on Canada Day. The store was really busy, but festive. We bought over $250 worth of goods, including a tin of mini mints worth about $2.50. When we got back to the hotel, we noticed that the mints were missing. Not a huge deal, but a bummer. We went back this morning and bought over $100 worth of goods. We mentioned the missing mints since we were there and presented our receipt. A manager was called and without a hint of an apology, she just flatly told us that no one said something was left behind so the missing item could not be verified. It was a master class in terrible customer service. After a pleasant shopping experience, her whole attitude and demeanor just left such a bad taste in my mouth. We spent $350 worth of goods at your store. Mini mints cost $2.50. Even if my purchase of the mints was not confirmed by your employee, that's a really small cost to keep a paying customer happy. Let's have a little perspective. Also, really? What employee would report missing mints? An article of clothing maybe. He probably just tossed them back into the display case. And Roots has a "nice." campaign going on. Maybe revisit that.

I love Roots. Despite the fact the there was a "one day only" sale that I'm sure lasts 365 days a year I love love love roots. Their clothes are expensive but they fit so well and are well made and warm! Always worth a good stop an we loved the banff sweatshirts. Definitely worth a stop if you are staying in the area or just driving through.

I find it weird that for a store that sells clothing for both sexes, there only seems to be women working there. A while ago I did see a helpful young man who provided great customer service, but he mentioned offhand that he was usually downstairs, not in the shop actual.

I've been to other Roots stores and this one was average. The one thing that I liked here was that they have "Banff Roots" gear. This is only exclusive to this location. As I have been to other stores in the province of Alberta. I visited the store during their buy one get one 50% sale, so I was able to get a sweater for half the price and sweatpants with the words "Banff" on the butt instead of Roots. The sale was for the entire store making products really worth their value for a nice brand in this tourist area.

Ducked in here as it suddenly got pretty cold as we were walking around and the 3 hats we bought were back at the hotel! I got a sweet Banff hat that kind of reminded me of a snuggly sock monkey. Even better it was 40% off so I scored it for $14 bucks and my head was toasty. I even got a cute, reusable bag with a beaver on it. Oh Roots... Similar to a shop in a ski town with lots of outdoor gear with prices to match.

I bought a $300 purse in September and within 24 hours I had to exchange it because of a missing piece of leather; now less than 90 days later the hardware is broken. They will not refund my money for their defective product. BUYER BEWARE!!
