Roots Hotel Apartments

We had the hotel apartment with a kitchenette and it exceeded all my expectations. If I could give 10 stars, I would. The room was spacious, clean, and perfect for my toddler to walk around comfortably. Good water pressure in the shower. We had everything we needed and more in the kitchen. The room faced the street but hardly heard anything. The staff were incredibly friendly, and they had a cot ready for us at a moment’s notice. Just a note for parents: my 16-month-old managed to climb out of the cot, but he’s an excellent little climber, definitely not the hotel’s fault! Overall, a fantastic stay and I would happily return.

I booked this hotel last summer for myself and my 6-year-old daughter. At first, everything seemed great. the room looked clean, comfortable, and the location was perfect. We were happy on the first day, but things took a turn when a terrible smell suddenly started filling the room. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling nauseous, and my daughter woke up vomiting. We couldn’t understand where the smell was coming from until we contacted reception. The cleaning staff later explained that it was coming from the kitchen drains and that this happens when water hasn’t run through them for a while—yet we had used our sink the day before. In the morning, I was dealing with a sick child and a room that was unbearable to stay in. When we returned to the hotel from the hospital, they told us there were no other rooms available. Our only options were to stay in the smelly room or leave the hotel entirely. We ended up getting reimbursed, but I had to book another (much more expensive) hotel last minute and lost money on bank fees that didn’t come close to covering the extra costs. Overall, it was a nightmare experience and definitely not what I expected from a hotel of this level.

Just a beautiful place in a perfect location. The rooms are all apartments and they're completely.. Pots plans utensils stove top fridge micro wave kettle etc. they don't miss a thing. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. I feel like I live they're it's so comforter. Laundry is right up the block and the market is around the corner. Three minute walk to the bus and train stations and the marina...and steps away from great restaurants and action. Highly recommend

We are a painting group of four staying 7 nights in Roots Apartments. Excellent location in a quiet neighbourhood, few minutes walk to train/bus stations, old town, marina and plenty of great restaurants nearby. Our apartments is spacious, looks much bigger than the photos on website. Spotless clean, comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped with full size oven, dishwasher and washing machine. Friendly and helpful staffs. Nelson greeted us with two bottles of wine when we arrived. He surprised us with dessert too! We communicated with Nelson with Whasapp and he always responded quickly, he went beyond to make sure we stayed enjoyable. Overall, everything is over my expectations! I would highly recommend to my friends and families and definitely stay here again if visiting Faro.

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the second floor. We liked everything. Room looks recently renovated, very clean, good location of the hotel: close to the old town and the train and bus station, as well as marina. We didn’t have breakfast, but it is available at the hotel at extra fee. We would stay there again when we are in Faro.

We were extremely pleased with our spacious room, and especially the spectacular balcony with tons of space, a table and chairs, two comfortable chaise longues and a cute hanging chair. It was super comfy and super quiet on the top floor, with a great firm bed. We didn’t order the breakfast box, but we can see the appeal of having it delivered to your door and eating on the balcony. Instead, we took advantage of the many excellent and reasonable restaurants within super close walking distance. The staff at the 24/7 front desk were friendly and helpful. The free all-day coffee and tea was a nice touch as well. When we ran into a small plumbing issue, as well as a problem with the safe, both issues were fixed within an hour. The only negative point we can think of is that the safe was very small, and did not fit a larger tablet or a laptop. Regardless, this was a gem of a hotel in the beautiful city of Faro, and we would return in a heartbeat.

A fantastic find in Faro for a 4 nights stay before flying home after spending 2 weeks in the Algarve. We booked the apartment with a terrace which was located on the top floor. It was exactly as the pictures showed. Very spacious with a comfortable bed, a smart TV, a kitchen which we made good use of, a large bathroom with a good shower, and the most amazing terrace ever. It was massive with table and chairs, sun beds and the views were breathtaking. You could see planes landing and taking off and also the national park in the distance. The sunsets were amazing too. The whole room was spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and the little plunge pool at the back of the hotel was ideal for a quick dip after being out all day. Location was ideal just a short walk from the train station and all the sites including supermarkets. When we return to Faro we most certainly be staying here again and paying just that little bit extra for the terrace room was worth every single penny. Highly recommend this hotel and Faro too.

A great place to stay in Faro! Staff were soooo lovely and helpful. It was great to have a studio w a kitchen so we could make breakfast and snacks ourselves. Some noise but not too bad, still able to sleep well.
