I came here with my boyfriend for a relaxing long weekend away from work and worries. We stayed in a suite on the lowest floor. The bed area is separated from the living room which is nice. The bathroom has a tub and a shower. It's not completely soundproof since we can hear stomping from the room upstairs but it was fine. We ordered some wine which wasn't there when we arrived but it got sorted out fast when we mentioned it at the reception area. There's robes and slippers ready for use. They have a nice indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzis and outdoor pool. The gym equipment is located at the entrance to the pool area and there aren't a lot to choose from. They have buffet breakfast with bread, warm food, fruits, yogurt/cereal, and cold food section. There isn't much variety to choose from. There are plenty of tables to sit at but the main serving area can be quite crowded during busy hours. Beware! It's hilly. The hotell is located at the top of a slope, so consider this for those that will come from the train station.

Røros Hotel is a large hotel built in different periods - and with departments stretching in all directions. The hotel has different logos - and appears quite fragmented. We stayed two nights in a superior room, which was nicely renovated and nicely decorated. It was very hot at night and no more fans were available at reception. We ate at the buffet, which was good - and sat out on the terrace with a drink in the evening. The hotel had a surprisingly good swimming pool with pools both outside and inside, which is highly recommended. There is also a large play area which makes this a child-friendly hotel. All in all, a good hotel - but choose a superior room.

Our night in Hotel Roros was a real treat. Easy to find on the outskirts of town with lots of free parking. The location is good, just a 10-min walk down the hill to the main streets, cafés, museums, etc. It’s a huge hotel with lots of guests and families, a little busy at times, but very quiet back where the rooms are. Our room was excellent – average size, bright, airy, with excellent sunset views over the valley. We really loved this aspect! The Wifi and TV worked very well – just wish we would’ve had a mini fridge to keep our drinks cold. That was really our only complaint, everything else was really good. We made use of the gym downstairs by the pool. There are a few good cardio machines in the foyer by the pool, but the weight room is tiny, really only room for 2 or 3 people in there. There is a bench press (free weights), a set of dumbbells, a lat pull-down, and a dual cable multigym. Everything was good quality and you could get complete upper body workouts with the equipment present. A bigger facility would be so much nicer! The breakfast buffet was amazing – a huge variety of hot and cold dishes. So much to choose from! It was busy, but still plenty of room to sit and enjoy the breakfast. Overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend this place to other travelers.

We were lucky enough to get the last room at this hotel for the evening during the music festival. Upon checking in, we immediately went to the restaurant for dinner. We were warmly greeted by Hovmester Mr Podlewski. He could see that we were very travelers and he sat us immediately. The service was impeccable. The dinner was one of the best we had in the 14 days of travel durning Norway. I would highly recommend The Roros Hotel and especially the restaurants.

A very warm welcome at the reception. Room was ok, nice view. Dinner with a set menu was good, as was breakfast. We enjoyed the swimmingpool.

Very nice stay at Røros Hotel. Hiking in the nearby mountains, strolling around idyllic Røros Town and enjoying the spectacular historic play "Elden". A must see! Nice, light and fresh hotel room, great breakfast buffet. We would have appreciated a bit more help and information from the lobby bar staff. Guests will expect at least some knowledge about available wines. Apart from that, hotel staff were professional and caring.

I will just copy most details and share same comment that has been maden 2 years ago and nothing different now sadly. Review is; A nice hotel, with friendly staffs and good room What diminished the experience for me was mostly that the dinner and breakfast buffets had no varm vegetarian dishes, apart from potatoes and some unseasoned vegetables. Even the morning eggs were all covered in bacon. Thus, a few of us ended up eating only cold dishes (in the picture that was my breakfast for five days) Considering how many people in Norway are vegetarian now, and how easy it is to make vegetarian dishes that anyone will want to eat, this was rather disappointing. In addition, there were no sleepers in room and kettle was so disgusting inside that we needed to change with reception and the air in the bedroom was extremely dry, which is not good for sleep quality.

Don’t trust Apple Maps to bring you to this hotel from the train station!!! Our half-mile hike was up hill the entire way and included a steep climb across a grassy area with a well-worn path clearly made by other iPhone users!!!||Now that I got that warning out of the way, let me tell you that this hotel is a wonderful value, with everything a family, (or a pair of women traveling together in our case) needs for a restful vacation. The views of Roros, meandering down the hillside, are lovely. There is a pool, and a playground, a restaurant and a lobby bar in addition to thecomfortable, quiet rooms. In fact, after our intense pre-check-in workout, I requested a room close to the front, and was given a first-floor room, which I usually object to. But too tired to protest, I found the large room was quiet and cozy, with plenty of space to sit and relax. ||We ate dinner in the lobby bar by accident, but it was still good! The restaurant is down the hallway to the left of the sign that says “restaurant”, which is we didn’t figure out until we went looking for breakfast the next morning. The breakfast is the full Norwegian breakfast we’ve come to expect with lots of tasty options to choose from and more than enough to feast! The staff are all very kind and helpful. We only stayed one night, but they were very happy to store our luggage for us so we could explore the town before our afternoon train. Would gladly return for another visit!

A local hotel, well driven, updated with excellent local meny. A need for the place to update their wine sortiment.
