Don’t trust Apple Maps to bring you to this hotel from the train station!!! Our half-mile hike was up hill the entire way and included a steep climb across a grassy area with a well-worn path clearly made by other iPhone users!!!||Now that I got that warning out of the way, let me tell you that this hotel is a wonderful value, with everything a family, (or a pair of women traveling together in our case) needs for a restful vacation. The views of Roros, meandering down the hillside, are lovely. There is a pool, and a playground, a restaurant and a lobby bar in addition to thecomfortable, quiet rooms. In fact, after our intense pre-check-in workout, I requested a room close to the front, and was given a first-floor room, which I usually object to. But too tired to protest, I found the large room was quiet and cozy, with plenty of space to sit and relax. ||We ate dinner in the lobby bar by accident, but it was still good! The restaurant is down the hallway to the left of the sign that says “restaurant”, which is we didn’t figure out until we went looking for breakfast the next morning. The breakfast is the full Norwegian breakfast we’ve come to expect with lots of tasty options to choose from and more than enough to feast! The staff are all very kind and helpful. We only stayed one night, but they were very happy to store our luggage for us so we could explore the town before our afternoon train. Would gladly return for another visit!
