Rosa Grand Milano - Starhotels Collezione (Milan, Lombardy) 34 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Twenty-first-century Milan is still an industrial center, but one that focuses on creative industry at the expense of manufacturing. So it’s no wonder the hospitality scene has been looking considerably brighter. Today’s business visitors, after all, are more likely to be designers, editors or buyers than managers or technicians. And if the result is that more and more Milanese hotels end up looking like the Starhotels Rosa Grand, then that’s definitely an improvement for hotel fans." - Tablet Hotels

We absolutely loved this hotel. Rooms are clean and the location is very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel. We purchased the breakfast option and we were glad we did. The breakfast had a grand variety of options. I will definitely stay here again!

We stayed at Rosa Grand Hotel in Milan, which is located just a 2-minute walk from the Duomo, a truly unbeatable location. The hotel exceeded our expectations in many ways. The rooms were exceptionally clean, the furnishings were modern and elegant, and the beds were incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The breakfast buffet was diverse and satisfying, offering a wide range of fresh and delicious options to suit every taste. What really stood out to us was the warm and welcoming attitude of the staff, both at the reception and in the breakfast area. They were always friendly, attentive, and ready to assist with a smile. Considering the high quality of service, cleanliness, comfort, and the hotel’s prime location, the prices were very reasonable and offered excellent value for money. We would definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit to Milan.

This hotel is enormous and we had a very long walk along very dark corridors to get to our room. The public areas are all very dark, the breakfast room windowless and felt like you could have been in any conference hotel anywhere in the world! |The room was very clean, bedding excellent, mattress a bit hard. The air conditioning wasn’t working on the first night but to be fair the reception staff were lovely and the second time the maintenance team attended, they managed to fix it. They freely offered to move us to another room but it wasn’t necessary. Bathroom good, very clean. |The breakfast was fine. Please order the freshly squeezed juice which was hidden way on the a la carte menu and was free. It seemed peculiar to charge for omelettes and porridge which are pretty standard items really. If I was being really picky I’d say the fruit was a bit poor- the melon and the pineapple seemed wet and slightly fermented as though it had been chopped up for a long time. The fresh pink grapefruit was lovely though. |The location is fabulous, the door team were very helpful with taxis and umbrellas.

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Price at All I stayed at Rosa Grand Milano expecting a premium experience given the extremely high nightly rate, but what I encountered was far below acceptable, let alone luxury standards. From the moment we arrived, the service was cold and unwelcoming. The concierge was not helpful at all—never smiled, never offered any assistance, and acted like every question was a burden. The rest of the staff followed the same pattern—zero hospitality, no warmth, and certainly not the kind of service you expect from a supposedly upscale hotel. Breakfast was another major letdown. The quality was shockingly poor, with very limited options. Want an egg or just a few slices of cucumber? That’ll cost you extra. It felt more like a cheap motel than a luxury hotel. Cleanliness was also a huge issue. The rooms were not maintained to a high standard, with dusty surfaces and an overall lack of care. To make things worse, there wasn’t even an iron available for guests—not in the room, not on request. For a hotel charging this much, it’s unacceptable. I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world, and In Milan too and this was by far one of the worst experiences in terms of value for money. I absolutely do not recommend Rosa Grand Milano—overpriced, unfriendly, and underwhelming in every way. And this for some one reserved through his counselor country

Great location. The hotel dissapoints you when you have to go to your room. The intertwined corridors look like a laberinth and it's hard to fin the room they selected for your stay. However, the room was comfortable and maid service is quite good. Breakfast is very complete although served in a windowless room, something rather unique in hotels. Never stay for dinner at the top restaurant facing the Piazza Fontana. With my wife we ordered costolleta milanese each at 38 Euros. Besides tasteless, the portions were so enormous we couldn't finish them. The waiter should have suggested to share this dish. We had two glasses of wine at Euros 20 each. Notwithstanding these exaggerated prices we were "forced" to pay a contribution of Euros 7.20 for the staff as a tip which came already included in the bill so that we couldn't refuse it. The service was extremely bad. The bill was Euros 150 and we only had one dish. We didn't have appetizer nor dessert nor a bottle of wine. This event brought a sad end to what could have been an excellent stay. NEVER HAVE DINNER AT THIS HOTEL.

ve been traveling throughout Europe for the past month, staying in nine cities and at some of the finest hotels. Unfortunately, this property offered the worst service experience of the entire trip—and possibly the worst I’ve ever encountered at what’s supposed to be a luxury hotel. Despite receiving written confirmation, check-in took over 30 minutes and the hotel had booked the wrong rooms. The receptionist treated the correction—putting my three sons in a room with more than one bed—as if she were doing us a personal favor. To make matters worse, the rooms they were given were abnormally small—completely unacceptable for what we were paying. The hotel did offer to move them to a larger room the next day, but by then the kids weren’t even there, and we were checking out shortly after. Moving five kids and a month’s worth of luggage out of two rooms for one night isn’t just inconvenient—it’s borderline absurd. It got worse from there. Our luggage took 45 minutes to reach the room. The penthouse suite itself was stunning, and the location is excellent—but that’s where the positives end. The final straw was the transportation to Lake Como. We paid over $800 for private cars, and they showed up more than 30 minutes late. When I asked the concierge for an update, his response was aggressive and dismissive—so much so that I had to walk away before losing my temper. If I could give zero stars, I would. This was a massive disappointment, and I would strongly caution others considering this property. Location alone does not make up for poor service and a complete lack of hospitality

First stayed at this hotel 20+ years ago. We had a comfortable family connecting room with excellent AC and experienced very friendly service. Our only concern was the loud noise from outside construction, which affected the quality of sleep.

Very comfortable hotel with separate lobbies and sound proof rooms. The rooms are very spacious with lots of the best amenities. The showers and restrooms were really clean. Parking was easy and not bad with the valet service. The staff are all very anxious and helpful to quickly assist with anything. It was easy to check in & check out. The breakfast was very well prepared as well. Thank you for the great services.
