Rosa Grand Milano - Starhotels Collezione (Milan, Lombardy) 34 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Twenty-first-century Milan is still an industrial center, but one that focuses on creative industry at the expense of manufacturing. So it’s no wonder the hospitality scene has been looking considerably brighter. Today’s business visitors, after all, are more likely to be designers, editors or buyers than managers or technicians. And if the result is that more and more Milanese hotels end up looking like the Starhotels Rosa Grand, then that’s definitely an improvement for hotel fans." - Tablet Hotels

Honestly, I would rate this hotel as an average. The only good point that it’s near the Duomo. The cleanness of the hotel also average. Moreover, when I requested for ice bucket. I got ice with a trash bag, which made me very shocked .The cleaning team did a great job cleaning our room and the bell attendant German was super nice and helpful! If you would book this hotel, don’t book it as it is a four star hotel, and if you want something near the Duomo, it’s not a bad place

Every thing was fantastic the only comments: 1. The TV in the room (in my suite) the size is small and not suitable to the size of the room. It would be more elegant if the size of the TV is propotional to the room size. 2. The room service need to be speed up. For example requesting waters takes time and picking up the luggage take time toom 3. Parking cost is quite high (60€ per night) comparing to other cities in Europe avarage is 30€ Other than the above everything was excellent!

We stayed at the Rosa Grand two nights at the start of our tour of Italy. When I made the reservation, I mentioned this trip was for our 40th wedding anniversary and we received a room upgrade upon checkin. We had a small Duomo view from our window. Also, a delicious chocolate cake was delivered to our room along with a Happy Anniversary card. That was a nice touch. The room are spread out over several buildings and there is a maze of hallways and ramps to get to your room. We got lost the first time trying to find our way and a very nice housekeeper escorted us to our room. Once you figure out the numbering system, it’s no problem. The room had a desk and chair and it would have been nice to have another chair so the second person didn’t have to sit on the bed.. The lobby bar is large and filled with comfortable chairs and sofas. A welcome spot to relax after sightseeing. The bartenders were so personable and provided great service and recommendations for drinks. The buffet breakfast had a wide variety of hot and cold selections and the servers were very attentive. The best thing about this hotel is the location, only one block from the Duomo and the Galleria. Also, several taxis park right in front so they are always available. I would recommend this hotel for your stay in Milan.

Highly advise against staying at this property. While it is well located, we were incredibly disappointed by the service and facilities. Check in was an absolute zoo - the hotel was completely overwhelmed and there appeared to be a Viking cruise ship using the property for guests. The common areas were messy and unclean. The staff was curt and unhelpful - and there was a long wait to speak to front desk. Even at 3p, our rooms weren’t ready as is policy. They were still cleaning. The room was spacious and exactly the size and features we needed so we were relieved when we were finally in. Unfortunately, our bags did not arrive for hours after - my husband had to repeat his request in order to retrieve diapers for our 2 year old. We repeatedly had issues with key cards. The next morning: my children and I woke up with huge welts/bites in groups on our arms/necks. Possibly bed bugs. All this for spending ~ €2000 on an apartment room for one night. This is not worthy of 4 star designation and I hope this review helps others from making the same mistake we did in staying there.

There was a strike on 22/9/25. I called the hotel seeking assistance as no taxis at Milan Central. They gave no assistance. Arrived at the hotel and instant smell of cigarette smoke. Corridors were dirty. Room was worn and in need of repair. Breakfast was included, yet if you want an Omelette, you need to pay Euro 16. This hotel was a huge disappointment. Checkout - a queue of over 30 minutes. I will never stay here again.

Wonderful experience! The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. The hotel is perfectly located, just steps behind the Duomo, with everything you could possibly need within walking distance. Absolutely brilliant stay!

Google
Honestly disappointed with this stay. The location is perfect, but that’s about it. Only one set of elevators for the whole hotel and getting to the room feels like a maze. The roof is another secret maze! First night was awful — the bed smelled strongly of urine, and after searching I found the mattress pad was stained yellow. Concierge staff were amazing (the only bright side), but the rest was a struggle. We had to request an iron and board daily for 2 weeks. Informed the hotel we were celebrating a birthday and nothing was provided. Changed my reservation, paid extra, but never received the refund due. With all this, I canceled my upcoming family reservation. Definitely not worth what we paid.

Google
Great location, very close to the Duomo and everything is within walking distance. I stayed 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The rooms are a bit small, but overall it was a wonderful experience and I will stay here again.

Yelp
Out of the hotels in Milan city center, this is definitely one of the better hotels in Milan. I've stayed here a couple times now. They have a responsive front desk and a doorman that can help you call a taxi. The location is absolutely the best. It's close to a subway entrance, quick minute walk to the duomo and the Galleria. All the shopping is right here which makes it so convenient. This area is space to walk around, even late in the evening. The hotel rooms are super clean, modern and spacious - which is hard to find in this area. Highly recommend !

Yelp
Great hotel, great location (actually perfect location). I would stay here again. The rooms are well sized and the air conditioning works well. The one downside is the poorly designed shower - water gets everywhere. They also had a lot of security inside - I think because it's so downtown that maybe they get stragglers coming in but I didn't notice anything bad. It felt safe.

Yelp
Our flight was canceled and we didn't make it to Milan. The moment our flight was canceled we called the hotel to tell them we couldn't make it. We would arrive a day later after our booking. They said OK we will have to follow up to see if we can refund you. I called them three times once I was in Italy. The first two times no one answered the reservation line. Simply rang and rang. I sent two emails. No response. I called again and someone said send us proof your flight was canceled so we did. No response. I called again and they said someone will respond to your email. I emailed again. We are finally back from Italy. The hotel finally responded after five weeks. The hotel said we cannot refund you, you waited too long to contact us, you waited 10 days. That is a blatant lie we called the day before to cancel because of our flight cancellation. This has been one of the most frustrating, time consuming experiences. Grand Rosa has been truly, sincerely awful and no one should ever feel safe booking with them. Their customer service is truly atrocious. Stay anywhere else.

Yelp
It's a pretty nice hotel. Right next to the Duomo di Milan which is a breathtaking sight to see. The hotel itself has a fancy lobby and nice meeting rooms and the presidential suite was satisfying enough. There's 3 McDonald's within walking distance as are many other businesses and so many photo ops all around you. A lot of people asking for handouts but apparently it's allowed anywhere you go around here. Hotel staff friendly and helpful and give you a cheery "buongiorno" as you pass them by. Only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is maybe the rooms could be updated a bit. A few stains on carpets and couches here and there. Overall, a nice hotel. Say hi to Morpheus on your way in!

Yelp
Please stay anywhere but here. This place and their customer service has been terrible. My flight was cancelled the day before our reservation. I called them immediately to let them know. I have since been in a dispute with them for MONTHS over this and they keep insisting that I failed to provide documentation to them, despite the multiple receipts I am able to provide showing that is not the case. Save yourself the trouble and stay some place else. There are many wonderful places in Milan, and this is not one of them.

Yelp
We stayed at the hotel in early June, 2022. 1st, they asked for all my flight info so they could track us. Well, the flight was cancelled, but they charged me anyway for the airport transport. Next, they quoted me an amount for the transfer which they charged to pick me up, but charged me much more for the return trip the following day. All in all, not a friendly or trust worthy property to stay. Hany onto your wallet with these guys. I'm in a dispute with them now with my credit card company. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Yelp
Well this hotel was a real treat, it's perfectly located by Duomo. The rooms were quite large and nicely decorated. We had to wait a long time to get our rooms which was pretty annoying. But they handled it with great service, so all good. They had a restaurant that we never had the chance to try, but they also had a bar that served pretty good drinks, we had mojitos one night but also aperol spritz. Something that was a really bad I think is that in one drink we found glass fragments. Overall, they handled that with grace. I have to give a shoutout for the breakfast, it was awesome. Fruit, yoghurt, pastries, eggs, bacon, they served cappuccinos or whatever coffee you wanted. Their breakfast had everything that I look for when I visit hotels. My family have stayed at this hotel several times and I have to say that it's great. Will definitely stay here next time I visit Milan.

Yelp
I stay in many hotels around the world for business. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this hotel. After a long day of work in a different time zone, all I wanted to do was go to my room, have room service, and finally get some decent rest. As I type this, I hear the dull "thump thump" of bass. The annoyance of a bad neighbor in a small apartment. An annoyance you thought you got rid of after you made it out of your 20's, started making decent money, and stayed in nice hotels. This hotel thinks it is a wonderful idea to have the pounding of bass music playing in their bar. They transform it into some sort of club at night. The problem is, you can hear this tomfoolery on the second floor, where my room is. I called the main desk to complain about this. The person told me, "Well, no one has ever complained about that before" - and then told me his supervisor was out for the evening. I call BS. Several people (see prior reviews here) have complained about it. The hotel room itself is nice. Very nice bathroom. However, what good is it if you can't sleep - or hear yourself think? Don't come here.

Yelp
Wonderful hotel with a few flaws resulting in 3 stars. Location? GREAT. One block from Duomo. Short walk from primo shipping. One mile from wonderful Le Specialità restaurant! (Please see my review). Room? Modern. Strange lighting. No carpeting or area rugs. NOISY! Not street noise. Noise inside hotel! Noise from hallway. Noise from plumbing. Painting and hallway maintenance fairly early. Rough for people who just arrived. AC works well and quietly. SHOWER IS A MAJOR PROBLEM! If you like hot showers as do I, beware of scalding hazard from sudden water temp changes. NO ANTI SCALD PLUMBING!!! When we arrived bathroom sink was leaking. Was fixed quickly, though. Bathroom modern and nice except for scald hazard in shower. TV - English speaking guests take note - no "entertainment" channels. Only 2 or 3 news/business. Coffee mugs/spoons not replaced. Had to ask for replacement complementary water, toiletries, coffee and tea. BREAKFAST - EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING! They do make an attempt to meet special dietary needs, but .... Also, when you are spending this much for a hotel room, omelets should NOT be extra! Service slow and spastic. Maybe not enough personnel for size of hotel and numbers of guests. May not be used to English speaking guests. Communication difficult. Front personnel: Excellent! The two gentlemen at the Concierge desk were very helpful.

Yelp
Stayed at the Rosa Grand in April for 3 nights. The hotel location is perfect for those that want to be close to the Duomo and the surrounding area. The hotel staff were extremely nice and helpful. I stayed in a deluxe room with a view of the Duomo. Wi-fi was included in my room but the internet connection was spotty. If you want uninterrupted internet access, the lobby and bar are better bets. The breakfast good with the standard fare. I would highly recommend

Yelp
At this hotel you are only paying for the location. The bathroom was falling apart, the sheets were dirty and had stains on them and the rooms weren't equipped with the basic things a hotel room usually has like an iron. They told us we had to pay to have a blazer ironed, when I gave them hell for it they let us use housekeepings ironing board for 45 mins max. There were dents and marks all along the walls, the holiday inn express by the airport had better looking rooms. The worst of it all was the dirty sheets which lead us to worry about the robes and towels. Although the customer service was not bad and the hotel staff did end up offering us an upgrade, we will NEVER stay here again. The Westin Palace is a few streets down and was way better for the price.

Yelp
Stayed there in Sep 2013 for the F1 Race in Monza. Totally overrated. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The room was just regular, with expensive wifi (they charge per device and not per room), and a staff that treats the guest with indifference. From what they charged me, I expected MUCH more. If you are willing to spend what they charge, go somewhere else.

Yelp
Nice hotel and really close to the centre of the city and the Duomo. Don't expect a good view from your window though as most seem to overlook internal cluttered or fire-escapes! Ok breakfast but nothing special.
