This is a lovely boutique hotel located in front of a canal and within walking distance to everything you wish to see in Amsterdam. It is in an authentic Amsterdam building with steep stairwells and lots of charm. The owners were lovely and welcomed us with the BEST cappuccino's when we arrived. It was very cold out. The staff carried our luggage up the narrow stairs to our room. It was greatly appreciated. The room and bed was comfortable and clean. We appreciated the snacks that were provided. Breakfast was wonderful and very filling. Gabriel and John gave great service. The bar staff were helpful and knowledgeable. Pepijn was patient with our questions and provided a great location to have an authentic Dutch meal and where to buy the best Dutch chocolate. I would recommend staying at Rosalia's Inn Upstairs! We now have lovely memories to add to our adventures.

We spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, the coffee was VERY good (and plentiful!). The owners and staff answered all of our questions and went out of their way to make us more comfy after our long journey. The room was stylish, clean and delightful. The hot water in the shower was super hot and the bath products smelled divine. We rented bikes and were a quick ride from wherever we wanted to go in the city. Such a charming spot — thank you Rachel, we will be back next time w our children !! Xo leela

We have just spent a long weekend at Rosalia’s. This is a lovely, quirky B&B. We were greeted warmly and our luggage was carried up to our room. We were given a quick tour of our room and instructions for A/C and WiFi etc. We stayed on the top floor, courtyard side. Yes, the stairs are incredibly steep! Our room was kitted out with reused/upcycled furniture. The bed was very comfy, bathroom was clean and shower was good. The fridge was stocked daily with soft drinks and snacks and there was a kettle and coffee machine. I was a little concerned about noise as the area is bustling and vibrant. I needn’t have worried as it was peaceful being at the top and back of the building. It was a very warm weekend and the A/C was greatly appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic - fresh fruit, granola and yoghurt to start. Freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee. Eggs and bacon then croissant with jam, butter and chocolate spread. Certainly kept us going for a day of sightseeing.|We stayed for cocktails a couple of times and they were lovely - very boozy. |Rosalia’s was a perfect base and very central for all our sightseeing. 10-15 to the station and within comfortable walking distances of the museums and shops. There are cafes and restaurants everywhere so no shortage of places to go.

When on a Business trip to Amsterdam I stayed just one night at "Rosalia's Menagerie Inn Upstairs" and I loved it... It has just 6 individually styled boutique rooms and mine (a King bed double) was comfortable and provided everything I needed for my stay. The owner Rachel Bonnewell was lovely and treated me with warmth and kindness from check-in to check-out, she was the perfect host. I loved the unique and quirky decor and the personally prepared breakfast was delicious and a great start to my day walking Amsterdam. The hotel location was perfect also in Central Amsterdam, I literally walked everywhere during my 2 days in the City. My room was €150 per night with breakfast. The Inn is, as in the name, 'upstairs' and the stairs are typical of old Dutch houses in as much as climbing them is not for anyone who has ill health or any mobility issues... Note, there is no lift and the stairs are narrow, steep and twisty. I will certainly stay again and hope to do so in the Summer of 2024.

Great experience, quiet rooms, even with the bar below. The stairs are intimidating, but having our luggage carried up for us was wonderful. Love the decor, hidden door, and the staff was exceptional. The best part is breakfast! And it's owner went above and beyond for us.

This small boutique hotel above a fabulous cocktail lounge is cozy, eclectic and in a great central location. Our canal facing room was on the top floor, so thank goodness the steep stairs were not a problem for us. The room was clean, large and came with sodas, coffee/tea, snacks, robes and a great view of the canal. The stay includes a bountiful full breakfast including yogurt, fruit, all different kinds of coffees or tea, fresh juice, eggs, bacon, croissant, bread etc. all made to order. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to get a seat in the cocktail lounge before bed a couple of nights. The staff at night is awesome as well and the cocktails are fabulous. We would definitely stay there again.

Amazing location, and very considerate, attentive staff, particularly in the morning with the very nice breakfast. Some little details were very thoughtful - like a white noise in the room to cancel out street sounds. Some little details were missed - very cold in the room as radiators were turned off when we arrived, neither of the bedside lamps worked, shower gel and shampoo is great but there is no conditioner. Even with those little things missed, we still had a lovely stay, I would happily recommend it, and would definitely stay there again.

As someone else mentioned, this hotel is not awful, but I will never stay here again. They have a good idea with the bed and breakfast thing. The execution needs to be better. - The breakfast is great. Really friendly and warm kitchen staff. - Check in is clunky. The person at the bar seemed surprised to see me. - The room I stayed in was old, but not in the charming way it was intended. Just kind of creepy and weird. Again, they TRY by putting in a coffee machine, having free snacks and robes. All great, but the bed was absolutely awful. It was the weird single beds that they just push together. Which I get is fairly normal in Europe. The mattress was SO hard, I could have slept on the floor and felt no difference. It just feels like it’s trying to be a boutique hotel. The downstairs is obviously much newer than the rooms. If the two matched it would be great. - Stairs are vertical. Might as well just use a ladder. The staff is very helpful with bags, but I can’t imagine if someone is even a little drunk. - room will be VERY loud all night if you are canal facing. They put a sound machine, but I used ear plugs - walking through the bar seems fun, but it’s not. It’s a popular cute bar, but I missed traditional hotel lobbies. - I interacted with the female owner once, she was very nice. I hope she gets this place up to its full potential by upgrading the rooms.
