Haley Nahman’s Grub Street Diet

"A newer cafe across the street from an older diner that is deliberately styled to look like a classic diner; the author found it a bit contrived given its short tenure but ended up liking the eggs and toast with hash browns she ordered." - Jane Starr Drinkard

There is only one possible rating for this place and that is 5 stars. The snack bar is in a laundromat and is a pretty cool place. We got the Scaccia breakfast sandwich whish had eggs, bacon, potato and a pesto dip on the side. Hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had. We also got a latte and a biscoff latte - I thought it was really good. The owner clearly cares about putting good food out there and has succeeded at it. We got an espresso freezie to go and noticed it was tiramisu flavoured - we haven't tried it yet but judging from the other stuff there, there's no doubt its gonna be good. Its take out only and no place to sit but the owner was super engaging and talked to us for quite a while as she was getting out food and drinks ready. Service was 100/100.

While in Toronto for a concert and quick visit with family, stopped in at this cool little snack bar inside the laundromat down the road. The owner, Michelle, was super friendly and made us a delicious cortado coffee which we enjoyed with the most decadent salted chocolate chip cookie. What a unique little spot. Loved it and will definitely be back the next time we are in Toronto! #HiddenGem #SudsAndSips

Great coffee and snacks at really affordable (especially now) prices. Hidden gem in the neighbourhood. New favourite spot for a quick snack.

Stopped in for a coffee and was delighted by the charm of Rosalu! Espresso freezies are a must. Check out the cool vintage clothing rack out front too!

And cannot begin to express how obsessed I am with this place. The espresso freezies have been life-changing possibly one of my favorite things on the planet to date

I love the concept of a snack bar inside a laundromat! Their coffee and service are both excellent. Love that they also have a small workspace!

Found the hippest little Italian cafe on Christie! Best coffee I've ever had and an amazing variety of treats and snacks. Their chocolate chip cookies are to die for. Highly recommended!!

Yelp
Rosalu Snack Bar located in Seaton Village at Christie and Yarmouth is Toronto's newest coffee shop. Rosina and Luigi (Rosalu being a combination of both their names) opened up the coffee stall inspired by the tastes/smellls of their grandmother's kitchen. The interesting and unique thing is that they are located inside a laundromat where as soon as you enter, the smell of fresh laundry hits your nose. They serve caffeinated beverage options as well as have many savoury (pizzas, quiches, lasagna) and sweet (cookies, pastries, etc.) food items for purchase. Rosalu also has a small selection of grocery items for sale as well. I found out about Rosalu Snack Bar on Instagram and was excited to try it myself! I stopped by Rosalu on a Thurs afternoon. There was only one customer when I entered. The interesting thing is that their store is also in front of a bus stop so it's convenient to grab a hot coffee on a cold day if you're waiting for the bus. I was warmly greeted by staff (I assume one of the owners). She made an effort to make me feel welcome and also was friendly. The savoury items on display definitely all looked very delicious. I did opt to purchase a cappuccino and a butter tart. Great thing was that I was able to choose how many shots of espresso I wanted. My drink was made at a reasonable time and it was made hot which was great. As soon as I left there was already another customer behind me. My drink was made well and the butter tart has lots of filling which was delicious. There is no seating inside for the coffee shop but you could chill by the washer/dryer machines if you wanted to. There is also a small bench outside if you'd like to enjoy your coffee/treats outside. Overall, cute new coffee shop in the Seaton Village neighbourhood! Definitely want to return to try their savoury items!!

Yelp
It's in a laundromat! Notes : the wheelchair button on the door does not work. Cute set up, good choices. Staff member was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. However with all the competition in the neighbourhood, I have to be honest - the coffee wasn't very good. Neither of us really enjoyed our drink very much, they tasted weak? Something wasn't 100%. Likely wouldn't come back because it wasn't to our taste, but I'd recommend giving them a try if you walk by because the staff member was so kind and I love the vision.

Yelp
Lovely owner, and such a cute little place along Christie St. Try the iced creamsicle (coffee) - not too sweet but so delicious.
