"Islas del Rosario Catch a boat from the dock just opposite the Cartagena city gate and take a ride out to the Islas del Rosario, a protected archipelago of 27 coral islands surrounded by reefs teeming with exquisite flora and fauna. Island activities include snorkeling, diving, fishing, or just sunbathing on marvelous white-sand beaches—whatever tickles your fancy. Some vacation homes and hotels were built on the islands before they were designated a national park, so there are small communities on some of the larger islands. Isla Rosario has a small aquarium and oceanarium, with dolphin shows and sharks. Make sure to try local seafood like pargo rojo with coconut rice and fried plantains. By Travesías"

Touristy and expensive islands not worth the visit in my opinion unless you're looking to drink cocktails all day and sunbathe.

Great place to explore!! I loved the concept with drinks and music at the beach. It's very touristic so the prices are very high. The sellers can be very annoying, making hard even to just watch to anything. If you make eye contact with them for half a second they will go to you and offer something.

I liked the experience visiting these small islands. We got the chance to stop on one of them and have lunch great experience. There are 27 if im not mistaken most of them are private.

Considered going to the island when visiting Colombia with a friend. THANK GOD I read all the reviews here and looked at the photos and videos from people. I didn't end up going because all I saw were piles of rubbish on the beaches, dying corals, and overcrowded snorkelling spots. This is not the tranquil experience I was after. It's disheartening to see such a beautiful place deteriorating and the government taking no action to protect it. Then you go to Europe, where we all feel bad when we put plastic in the wrong bin by accident. This is one of the places that contributes so massively to pollution and the decline of marine life. SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE LIKE WE DID :)

Nice islands. Some parts way better than others. Visit on the occasion of a island hopping tour. The party island was awful. Worst experience ever.

We went on a tour… we actually didn’t set foot on the islands, just went snorkelling 2 times even though it was 4 islands Rosario tour with Cartagena tours. But anyway I would like to write a review for the islands… Many of them are private. At “public” snorkelling spots there are 100s of people with so many boats… people stepping on corals, dead corals everywhere, feeding fish… Stay away or don’t go with a tour boat. I don’t know if there is any other option to come or maybe stay overnight.

Ok island with nice beach. But if you are not a beach person then 2 -3 hrs is enough.
