Straight up good quality food at a decent price. Roast and the dishes are great flavour, juicy and tender. Menu is decently small but enough to cover meat options, vegetarian and satisfy your usual dish choices. Place is small and customer dine in and out quickly. Portion is very generous and will leave you satisfied plus more. Recommended for a quick wholesome bite with great roasts.

Delicious Chinese food with great flavor in every dish. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. Service is quick, and they offer free black tea for dine-in customers. If you're craving comforting Asian cuisine or any dish paired with rice, this place is definitely worth a visit.

I ordered the BBQ pork with egg gravy on rice and the garlic chicken. The BBQ pork was tender and matched well with the egg gravy and rice. The garlic chicken was soft, and the garlic was served on the side, adding a nice aroma and flavor when mixed in. Portions were generous and the service was quick. A good spot for a simple, filling meal.

Good place for Chinese roast (duck, crispy pork, BBQ pork). I tried the roast duck and crispy pork, sold by the 1/2 kg. Very good and decent price for the city. I've ordered off their lunch menu before, I forget the dish but it was a spicy chicken and vegetables with rice. Tasty, ready in no time, and a fairly balanced option as far as a quick feed was concerned. A word of warning, or at least a heads up, don't expect too much service, the staff will take your order quickly and serve you quickly but you won't be in for a pampering. It is part of the authentic charm of the place.

This place serves authentic Cantonese food with generous portions at reasonable prices. It’s a no-frills, eat-and-go kind of restaurant. Not fancy, basic décor, and not the kind of place where you linger for hours. The focus is clearly on the food, which is consistently good. The restaurant is small and always busy, a sign of its popularity. If you’re after great Cantonese dishes without the fuss, this is the spot to try!

Been coming here since 17 years ago. the food is still good and I can't move on from their spicy chicken ribs and their duck fried rice. The one that I hate is they want cash only, and you need to purchase at least $40 to use card. it is dodgy but then again, I kinda understand the reason behind it.

Lightning quick service. I'm not joking. I just sat down and within 2 minutes the food arrived. Love love love the food here. Affordable but absolutely tasty. Crispy pork with omelette is definitely the way to go. The crisp from the pork skin, paired with the creaminess from the omelette, topped with this thick umami soy sauce mixture. Add the chilli oil from the table. Adds a kick of spiciness to it. Please get the spicy green beans with mixed chicken as well. They're really good.

Have been going to this family owned and run Restaurant for approximately 25 years maybe longer. Was run by mum and dad and has had the two daughters Susie and Helen running it the last ten years. Amazing food - always good - always a line to get a seat, they make their own Dick, BBQ Pork and Crispy Pork in site an a special BBqer from China. Friendly atmosphere and let's be honest - if it's full of Asians it's got to be good !!! It's full all the time because the food is amazing. Try the Spicy Fried Chicken ribs, or Sichuan Chicken on rice, combination Omelette on rice, spicy Green beans, chicken mince on rice!!! Try it all - you can mkt go wrong - best Chinese eatery in my opinion - super fast service, cooked to order - in and out !!! Simple but tummy warming food !!! You'll not be disappointed !!!!!

Yelp
Recommended by several family members of mine and I'm glad we went ! Not only it was perfect for rainy day, but all of my family is very satisfied about all of the dishes. I think we over ordered it lol but we finished it! The place is easy to find , I use Google map a lot whenever I travel. The food came out so fast, we were very surprised. Their staff are fast! The interior is homey too, very authentic old school restaurant in Asia. Their pork and duck are good, and their infamous omelette is awesome. We love a good fried tofu so we also ordered that. Overall, I'd recommend someone who's visiting Melbourne!

Yelp
I went here for lunch. I ordered 1. Egg chiffon with pork belly (4/5) 2. String beans (4/5) The auntie was very fierce. The food was incredibly fast prepared. When i ordered, few minutes later they were ready. Services were super fast. It might get crowded during lunch or dinner time. CONCLUSION = RECOMMENDED!!!

Yelp
Janky place but what a freaking gem! Rose Garden filled all my criteria for an authentic Chinese spot: Cheap-ness, filling-ness and CASH only! One of local favorite for delicious and affordable Malaysian/ Hong Kong style home food. Some of the things to look forward here are their chiffon omelette rice with BBQ pork (get the crispy pork skin when you can, those ran out fast!) - Succulent and so so good! The deep fried spicy chicken ribs was also stunning! Crunchy, savory and laced with chili oil. The default saltiness, was a bit salty for my taste, which is a good excuse to eat more rice haha. Service was very fast paced and accurate. A hidden treasure in downtown Melbourne, this small restaurant is relatively unknown to tourists, but certainly a place I would happily recommend!

Yelp
Its been a little while since I was last here. The price seems to have increased. I had a salted fish and chicken vermicelli which I thought was too soggy. The roast duck, which we were given the part with not much meat so I wasn't impressed and the thai red curry, which was ok. I am not sure I will be back in a hurry!

Yelp
This busy diner has the usual Cantonese style roast/BBQ meats and other dishes (fried rice, noodles etc). The portions are generous, the food is good, the service is quick and the prices are extremely reasonable. It's a really busy spot though - and we found it very crowded and noisy even on a Tuesday night.

Yelp
I was looking for a place to have dinner when I noticed how crowded and busy this place was. That seemed like a good sign. But I ended up kind of disappointed. I ordered the fish fillet and bean curd with rice noodles for $10. The dish came extrememly quickly. (I would say under 5 minutes?) But all I could taste was the sauce. I couldn't really taste the fish fillet or the bean curd or the rice noodles because everything tasted the same! I did feel full in the end, but I did not feel satisfied. It's true that this place is cheap and fast, but I am not convinced that I would come back again.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. My favourite chinese restaurant to get take away from. Fast. Cheap. Super tasty stuff. They have a Top 10 list of their most popular rice/noodle dishes and these include a crispy skin pork omelette, spicy fried chicken ribs (which in my opinion is some of the best fried chicken around), spicy green beans with pork, stewed beef brisket.. They also do the usual BBQ dishes like roast pork/duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork. All the rice/noodle dishes are really reasonably priced, most of which are under $10 and the portions are very generous. They can get quite busy at lunch/dinner times and you may have to wait a while to be able to get a table, so take-away would be a better option at those times. Just a note: they are closed on sundays.

Yelp
They used to have better food. However, with the price, speed and food quality at a city location that's less than 5 min walk from Melbourne Central. I am happy to give them a 5 star. This place is certainly not for people that look for a restaurant with great ambience. It still doesn't stop this keep very busy throughout the day.

Yelp
The old man/ chef owner passed the business to a daughter. The roast ducks are not made the old way ( air blown ) .. Of course , it's less authentic. The new chefs are fast food experts though: fast, still tasty and value for money. 3 stars.. Cheap and fast.

Yelp
I feel they might have changed their chef .. Their foods were much nicer ,now it was just ok ok.

Yelp
Great portion of Chinese comfort food. Typical student meal for taste, price and portion. Try their famous egg chiffon rice. It was good and satisfying, their Chinese gravy is bit spicy but tasty. It's very good with their rice dishes.

Yelp
Terrible exprience. Cash only place that you to pay before you get your food. Ordered the duck and rice, there was no duck in sight... beyond that, my buddy's food looked like the worst part of the chicken and tasted terrible. If you are thinking of eating here, don't.

Yelp
Always tasty. Always quick. One of my favorite Chinese spots in the city. In fact I might go there now...

Yelp
Super fast, heaps of tasty dishes. Must try the eggplant and tofu, spicy chicken ribs, special fried rice, mapo tofu. The roast duck, crispy skin pork, roast pork and chicken are also the best I've had in Melbourne -- this includes basically all of Chinatown, Box Hill and Glen Waverley areas that serve these roast meats. Highly recommended. Just don't expect a quiet, peaceful ambiance. This place is always busy and deservedly so.

Yelp
I have been on the hunt for an amazing BBQ joint comparable to this one place I go to all of the time back at home. I found Rose Garden and was excited to try it. I got what I usually get at a standard BBQ joint, which would be crispy pork, BBQ pork & chicken on rice. My meal was $10 and left me feeling full after, but quality and flavours of the meats were lacking.
