Not perfect, but very good, and felt like giving it a 5 since there's so many low reviews for silly stuff. room was nice, great view through the windows. It seemed like the bathroom had been recently renovated and was great. The front desk was very accommodating. First, our flight was delayed so we had to shorten our stay by one night and they refunded us for the shortened stay no questions asked. The morning we actually did arrive they let us keep our bags there until check in time. The hotel itself is clearly being renovated, but even as it is now it's nice. There's a courtyard between the different buildings. I don't think they do a continental breakfast anymore, but there's plenty of breakfast options within walking distance. There are a few negative reviews about the area of town around the hotel being "rough". It's like 5 blocks from campus, it's fine.

Currently undergoing renovation/remodeling. The place is somewhat"tired", probably had years of neglect. The room I stayed in was large with two standard queen size beds. The carpet was stained and had paint splatters, likey due to the recently done painting of walls and ceiling. The plumbing was in bad shape, functional but "quirky" (misaligned faucets, over pressured sink faucet that sprays you if not careful turning on). Bathroom fan wouldn't stay on due to faulty switch. The courtyard area has potential but had only had minimal clearing due to recent construction work. All in all the place has good potential and I can tell the owners are working on it, but right now it's still a bit rough so make sure to keep your expectations in check and prepare to have to be flexible. Staff was friendly, helpful and available at the front desk

The Rose Garden Inn is a wonderful and eclectic collect of old Victorian homes set up as a unique B&B. While there are many little repairs that should be done to keep it well preserved, it is overall quite lovely. The rooms and halls are adorned with art, vases, large mirrors and complimenting pieces of furniture. Many of the windows are either stain glass or drapped in beaded valences. Stair cases link many of the buildings and lead to most of the rooms. Statues decorate the garden. There are plenty of dining areas both inside the main house and out. A plentiful breakfast is provided buffet style in the mornings and freshly baked cookies in the afternoon. There are several common areas for relaxing in. The deluxe room is up in the attic of one of the larger homes. Its all wood architecture is warm and inviting. It begs to be photographed and does not disappoint. The only draw back I found hard to overlook was how hard the bed was. Beautiful, but far from restful. That been said, I would definitely stay there again.

Nice quiet place to stay. Beautiful gardens, large rooms. No air conditioning in our room, but we opened the window, had a small fan and a ceiling fan. Even in the unusual heat this week we did sleep comfortably. Breakfast is nice, coffee could be a little warmer. Staff is great. Friendly and efficient.

More than a hotel, it is like a resort. Nice garden, open place with chairs and tables to chill especially in the morning when sun rises, spacious rooms etc. Close to the campus. Within a radius of 1km, many shops are available for food items, restaurants etc. Cordial staff. We enjoyed a lot the place. Initially, thought of staying for 3 days and we ended up staying for 14 days. One small suggestion - there should be something to be offered for eating. For everything, we had to go out and buy. Just 100 meters away, there is a CVS store and 7 am to 12 am shop where everything is available. Around 200 meters, there is a huge fruits/vegetable/bakery/food/drink store called Whole Food....fresh organic fruits and vegetables available. We enjoyed a lot. The place is a like home. There a big sitting area at the reception.

Continent breakfast was good. I enjoyed the look of the Inn. The style and general antique furniture and wooded walls n floors . The room 108 was amazing the size was huge and the stain glass windows with all the wooded floors and walls and ceilings with so much detail and character. The beds where comfy almost felt like it was the penthouse or suite being its on the top floor. Very nice and quiet both outside and in. Loved the way it is set up the various rooms felt very cozy and set off an antiquity atmosphere. I would recommend it.

I expected a quirky boutique type hotel, but this place has been neglected for years. The bathtub drain and sink drain were both clogged. I turned on the shower and black drain gunk pooled in the tub, so I couldn't shower. The room smelled of stale cigarettes. There were cigarette burns on the side of the bathtub. There was no way to deadbolt the room door because there was wood behind the spot where the deadbolt would slot in. The mattresses are very old and worn out. This place could be nice, but it doesn't seem like anyone cares that much.

has the appearance of a hotel that was nice 25 years ago. (-) rooms are tiny, doors don't open or close properly. "non-smoking" rooms smelled like smoke. carpet & curtain were rugged, ripped, and stained. (+) young front-desk staff were helpful & nice.
