***** What You Need to Know *****
* As with previous reviewers, this is for the restaurant, not the hotel.
* There is not a sign from the main road for the turn up a steep hill. You have to just know it’s there.
* While the location is close to central Koror, I don’t consider it walkable, especially on the return trip (up a steep hill).
* So if you’re staying here, you probably want a rental car.
* The meal prices are the most reasonable I’ve encountered anywhere in Palau. I mean, $4.00 for an Asahi beer?!
* The beef with broccoli is the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere. The broccoli tasted like it had been roasted over charcoal. See picture with review.
* The Caesar salad may be the best on the island. There wasn’t a morsel left in any of the three plates of those who ordered it.
* I’m not sure why, but the service was uneven. Plates will come out in the order that they are ready, with no logical reason why some arrive 15 or even 20 minutes after others. Or why the starters, calamari and fried pickles) came out last. BTW, best fried pickles I’ve ever eaten.
* There is no A/C, but given the location on a hill and open concept, there is a delicious cross-breeze.
I have no idea as to the significance of the Harley Davidson cycle and motif, but there it is. If I lived here, the Rose Garden would become my regular haunt.
