My family thoroughly enjoyed the Rose Hall Great House Tour. As we drove up to the admissions office, we became concerned when we saw that a tour bus had just dropped off a group of tourist as we didn't want to get lost in a large group and lose out on the unique aspects of the tour. However, as soon as we bought our tickets - locals at a cost of J$2,200/person - we realised that each group of people had their own tour guide, which we really appreciated. Despite suffering damage during hurricane Melissa, the house and its contents are still things to see if you appreciate antiques and historical spaces and events. They also provided the option of having an affordable family photo taken as a memento of the day, which we needed because someone is always being left out of the family pictures to take the pictures lol. There is a kind of underground pub, that also operates as a mini-museum, where you can get refreshment while catching up on more history of the house, such as the its renovation in the 1970s. There are ample, clean bathroom facilities from the admissions area to the pub. Despite the damage to the tree line by the hurricane, the property was picturesque. All the staff (security guard, admissions staff, photographer, photo booth staff, the men who wore the blue shirts and the tour guides etc.) were courteous, with a genuine sense of courtesy and politeness - not the fake, strained kind you often experience with customer service representatives nowadays - very professional and quick to help. A special thank you to our tour guide Diatus* Thank you for your service. Rose Hall Great House team! We appreciate you.
