Rosedale Manor Bed & Breakfast

This was our first time visiting Placentia and I am so glad we chose to stay at Rosedale Manor! It is a beautiful house that has retained its architectural characteristics, but has a fully updated interior. We stayed in the Lupine Suite and had a great view of the river (it really does change direction twice!). Chris and Lori were very welcoming and we appreciated the detail in making our stay a comfortable one. A special bonus was visiting the Castle Hill National Historic Site and having Chris, who also works at the site, give us the history and a tour along with other visitors. ||It is also an easy drive to Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve and we were thankful that Chris suggested we drive there the day we arrived in Placentia as the next day at Cape St. Mary's would be wet and windy (and apparently, it was). ||We highly recommend staying at Rosedale Manor and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Lori and Chris are very accommodating and caring. The room was equipped with first class bed, mattress, bed sheets. Bed sheets were hand ironed!!! Where do you get that these days!!!! Breakfast was exquisite and they even accomplished lactose intolerance restriction we had in our party. Unbelievable attention to detail all the way. A good part of me didn't want to leave any reviews simply because I wanted to keep it a secret for the next time. Honestly, this place is highly, highly, highly recommend!!!

An amazing stay! We called last minute and were able to secure the last room. They provided us with local places to eat dinner and next day adventures before we hit the ferry in the afternoon. Breakfast was fantastic! They easily accommodated my food allergy and provided so many treats- croissants, muffins, cheese, fruit, juices, yogurt, etc. From the outside gardens to the decor that fits the century home and the amazing art work adorning the walls ( the owner Chris is the artist), it was a beautiful stay. Most definitely recommend!

Chris and Lori are the most wonderful hosts! Their property is pristine, During our visit, no detail was overlooked. We had fresh flowers! We had complementary in room snacks. Every detail from the linens to the exquisitely prepared breakfast was exceptional. The pride and care they put in to Rosedale is evident everywhere.

We felt so fortunate to have found this absolutely adorable, clean, and beautiful bed and breakfast. The owners were some of the friendliest and most welcoming people we’ve ever met — truly a pleasure to talk to and be hosted by. They’ve thoughtfully considered every comfort for your stay, from pristine floors in the rooms with fresh cut flowers to complimentary bottled water and a selection of tasty snacks in our beautiful room. Every detail made us feel right at home. This is without a doubt a 5-star accommodation, and we would highly recommend it to anyone traveling toward Placentia. The breakfast was absolutely delicious — so generous that we even had leftovers to enjoy later during our sightseeing! Placentia itself is a charming little town. We really enjoyed the guided tour of the Castle Hill National Historic Site — very informative and engaging. There are also some lovely walking trails, including a scenic boardwalk by the ocean. We had dinner at Dockside, a delightful waterfront restaurant owned by a young couple in their 20s. It was beautifully run and the food and atmosphere were perfect. As a bonus, we were lucky enough to catch a play at the local theatre — a truly fantastic performance with incredibly talented actors and actresses. If I could give “six stars” I would! Our stay was fabulous. The hosts, Chris and Lori were so incredibly doting on us. For 18 hours, we, and the guests, were all good friends. The breakfast was out of this world. If you can, take time to see the museum a couple doors down, and go up to Castle Hill historical site, where Chris works. Fascinating history of the area. There is more in Placentia than just a jumping off point for the Argentia ferry.

You could not ask for better hosts than Lori and Chris. They made this quaint B & B a joy to stay in. We 4 checked ourselves in, but were pleased to meet our hosts later in the evening. They made us feel welcome and encouraged us to use the common areas during our stay. Our bedroom was comfortable and bathroom had everything we needed. We really enjoyed Chris’s art displayed throughout the inn. He has such talent. We must also mention the breakfasts, as they were exemplary. All food intolerances and preferences were addressed deliciously. Hugs all around when we left as we hated to go.

Our stay at Rosedale Manor was a pure delight. Our Room, The Rose, was bright and spotless. Every corner is a perfect vignette. The artwork by owner Chris and the creative, peaceful decor by Lori were a delight. Breakfast was beautiful and delicious. And different all three mornings of our stay. Every detail so thoughtful. Kind helpful and informative hosts. The view stunning, the local history and sights overwhelming. Very comfortable bed. Perfect. Highly recommended.
