Rosedale Manor Bed & Breakfast

I do not normally write a review but my stay at Rosedale really worth a 5 star review from me. You cannot find a host better than Chris and Lori. They are friendly, knowledgeable, held and courteous. Feel free to ask them anything about the town or even Newfoundland in general. They are very knowledgeable! This is the first time ever I stayed in a B&B and I am so glad that this is my first B&B experience. The room is clean and tidy with a great view (my room is Lupine) and I feel like I am home and this is the kind of experience you won’t be able to get if you just stay in a hotel. I got everything I need in my room and you can tell the hosts did put a lot of thoughts when it comes to how the room is being set up and what items (fridge, snack and even bedding etc) should be placed in the room. The location of the B&B is just perfect and is just right in the middle of the town so I can drive or walk to my destination easily. Everyday the host Chris and Lori will prepare breakfast for us and the breakfast is just divine and you can tell the host did put effort on that too. Overall 5 star experience and I highly recommend this place.

Our stay at Rosedale Manor was a pure delight. Our Room, The Rose, was bright and spotless. Every corner is a perfect vignette. The artwork by owner Chris and the creative, peaceful decor by Lori were a delight. Breakfast was beautiful and delicious. And different all three mornings of our stay. Every detail so thoughtful. Kind helpful and informative hosts. The view stunning, the local history and sights overwhelming. Very comfortable bed. Perfect. Highly recommended.

Great B&B for exploring the Placentia area and the Cape Shore! Excellent accommodations. Very comfortable and well appointed rooms. The breakfast was huge! The egg bites in particular were delightful. The coffee - delicious! Attention to detail is evident everywhere from their homemade jams, the hand written welcome notes, delicious snacks, beautiful artwork by Chris & the gorgeous quilts and placemats. The front yard with beautiful pond and fountain is so peaceful to just sit and relax. Love, love, love Rosedale! Cheers to Lori & Chris for this outstanding B&B and for hosting our family.

You could not ask for better hosts than Lori and Chris. They made this quaint B & B a joy to stay in. We 4 checked ourselves in, but were pleased to meet our hosts later in the evening. They made us feel welcome and encouraged us to use the common areas during our stay. Our bedroom was comfortable and bathroom had everything we needed. We really enjoyed Chris’s art displayed throughout the inn. He has such talent. We must also mention the breakfasts, as they were exemplary. All food intolerances and preferences were addressed deliciously. Hugs all around when we left as we hated to go.

We cannot praise highly enough this delightful b&b. We agree with everyone else's positive remarks; there are just too many superlatives to list. The accommodation is first rate with every detail thought out and every need catered for; everything is of the highest standard and it is evident that Lori and Chris have put their heart and soul into updating the property. They are the most kind, generous and helpful hosts you would wish to meet. We were so impressed that we stayed there again on our way back to St John's airport. Very special people and a very special little place to stay. Just wish we could return one day.

Sadly, while visiting Placentia, the early June weather was a bit cool and and the skies were grey.|Thankfully, our wonderful hosts Lori and Christopher were absolutely warm, cheery and entertaining!|Lori met us for check in and showed us around their beautiful property. The yard is stunning and the house itself is absolutely charming.|The magic really starts when Christopher arrives. He is a wealth of historical information and a brilliant orator. We were fortunate enough to have him give us a tour of the church and the local museum. The history of the area is fascinating! Who knew Placentia has such a rich and fascinating history? OK, Christopher knows, and he loves to share his enthusiasm for the area, the people and the Province of Newfoundland!|The Daisy Room where we stayed is warm and cozy, with snacks included, the linens are perfect for a great night's sleep and the bed is comfortable.|Breakfast was excellent, although it was way more food than I require at my age, but hey, I'm on vacation! Right?|You need to visit Placentia to learn the fascinating story of this beautiful place. If you're lucky, maybe you can hear about it from Christopher!|Oh, and Lori's mom, " Elizabeth," makes the best blueberry jam I have ever had.|Thank you, Lori and Christopher, for an extraordinary experience in your beautiful province.

I've been to many B&Bs over the years. Some have been great, some have been cold and miserable. Rosedale Manor in Placentia is the best B&B I've ever stayed at. ||The building is old yet lovingly restored and with high-quality materials and curated period furniture. We stayed in the Rose suite: large sitting room, large bedroom, a shower room, a clever kitchenette, and an ensuite bathroom. The windows were all functional (unlike many old building B&Bs) and we got a great cross-breeze. The bed was excellent with excellent linens and nice and heavy cotton blankets and home-made exceptional level quilts.||They provided a wide array of snacks, lots of tea and coffee, and great soaps.||The breakfast was excellent: fresh sliced oranges, orange juice, coffee, tea, baked eggs in crispy bacon (kind of like a poached egg wrapped in bacon), warm bagels (including a gluten-free one for me!), yoghurt, and freshly-baked muffins. The muffins! They ground gluten-free oats to make the flour for the muffins, which also had to be lactose-free. They were incredible! I can't believe they weren't regular muffins. This kind of attention to detail and dietary restrictions is unparalleled in my experience.||Lori and Chris were incredible hosts: super-friendly yet not intrusive the way some B&B hosts can be. Chris even led us and the other guests on a 90 minute walking history tour of Placentia townsite.||TripAdvisor: it is time to get your owl out and give one of those awards to Rosedale Manor. It has set the standard against which all B&Bs should now be measured.||My only regret: that we had only a single night there. Rest assured, I will be back. :)

A beautiful old house beautifully updated to provide lovely bed and breakfast rooms, each with its own bathroom, and a couple with a sitting area and small kitchen amenities. The breakfast was delicious and hosts, Lori and Chris, were so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Comfortable beds.
