I visited this restaurant today and ordered the salmon on a bed of salad. The salmon itself was decent, but the salad was extremely salty with large grains of salt that crunched in my mouth, and it had a sour topping. I asked them to replace the salad, explaining that it was too salty for me to eat, and requested a new salad with only olive oil, no salt or pepper added (since I prefer to season it myself).
There were also two eggs on the plate, both heavily salted—clearly visible on top. When they brought the “new” salad, it seemed suspicious. Upon tasting, I realized it still had the acidic flavor of balsamic vinegar. Some of the leaves even had faint brown spots of dressing on them. It looked like they had simply washed my old salad under running water and served it again.
When I asked the waiter if they had just rinsed off the old salad, he spoke to the chef and then insisted that they did not. However, I am absolutely certain that’s exactly what happened. I ended up paying 60 dirhams for the dish. I hope they saved a lot of money by reusing my salad, but I certainly didn’t eat it because the whole situation was quite off-putting. Thank you.
