We booked our stay in Buxton very last minute and were thoroughly impressed with Roseleigh. Gerard welcomed us very warmly and gave us some great information about the town. The location was in walking distance to all the main attractions. The views were stunning- looking out to the Pavilion gardens! The room was spacious and decorated sympathetically to the age of the building. Breakfast had a great selection of cereals as well as a full cooked breakfast. We're already thinking of staying again on our way back down the country on our roadtrip. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Beautiful B&B - decor and furnishings in keeping with period of property. Breakfast is excellent and all staff attentive and friendly. Cleanest place I’ve ever stayed and within walking distance to town for some sightseeing- lots of bars and restaurants too. |Bed super comfortable and plenty of space for clothing. Tea etc making facilities present. Shower room clean and lovely soft towels provided.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Roseleigh. This conveniently situated period house was spotlessly clean, comfortable and nicely furnished and decorated. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and attentively served. I loved the view over the park and the woods surrounding Buxton from my room. Attention to little details such as a tea towel on the tea tray in my room made such a difference. Maggi and Gerard were professional, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. Their young staff did an excellent job all round. I did not want to leave and would definitely return at the earliest opportunity.

My wife and I stayed here over the August Bank Holiday weekend and cannot speak highly enough of Gerard, Maggi and their team. Superbly comfortable beds. They have obviously bought top-of-the-range beds. Our bedroom was spotlessly clean (as was the rest of the guest house). Breakfast was superb. There was a wide choice and the quality of the food was excellent too. The staff were friendly and helpful. Gerard is especially knowledgeable of the area. It made for a very wonderful stay in Buxton.

An excellent small guest house ideally positioned for all that Buxton has to offer, fronting on the traffic-free Broadwalk with a view over the Pavilion Gardens. Not having come far we arrived very early but were able to book in immediately and leave our car and belongings. Although we didn’t need it, we had an accessible ground floor room with shower adaptations which so many hotel bathrooms lack. Very peaceful, no traffic noise. Small private car park in which on our visit there was plenty of space. Attentive and helpful, but not intrusive hosts. Reasonably priced considering the good location. Pity we were only here for one night.

We only stayed for one night on our travels but from calling to check availability to checking out the next morning it was a very pleasant experience. Gerard was extremely helpful, explaining the local area & sites, though it was a Tuesday night so quite a few restaurants seemed to be closed in Buxton. |Room 12 was very clean, fresh and kept in good order, all staff were very helpful, polite and approachable. Fantastic location to walk along Broad walk and around pavilion gardens into the centre of Buxton. |We did visit Pooles Cavern with tour guided as one of many recommended places, which was very good on the rainy day we were leaving.

Fabulous location within easy walk of town and countryside. Guest house is beautiful and very well looked after. The rooms are equally well maintained with all facilities you'd expect and need. Breakfast is fabulous - great choice, great quality, well cooked and a lovely dining room! Over all 5 stars!

We stayed in Roseleigh for 2 nights. The location was perfect, both rooms we had were comfortable, quiet and super clean. The breakfast was superb- big choice of premium products and cooked fresh to your choice. The service was also very attentive, polite and helpful for local information and tips. Hopefully we will be back.

Yelp
Our hosts, Maggi and Gerard, were very welcoming! The property is beautifully appointed with historical touches and so perfectly situated for amazing views from breakfast or your room. Front rooms have lake view but our side room had a lovely tree view. Can't imagine there is a bad room in the house. Great for a stroll in the morning around the lake before breakfast. Walking distance to everything in Buxton! (We particularly liked Simply Thai for dinner - about a 5-7 minute walk from Roseleigh.) The breakfast and our hosts helpful information really made the stay extra special. Parking is available but it's a tight fit. Probably best to let your passenger out before parking so no one has to scramble through shrubbery. I would absolutely stay here again!
