We went to Buxton for a Victorian Ball in the Assembly Rooms and after a five hour drive we received a very warm welcome from Gerard and Maggi. The house is a lovely Victorian house with fixtures and fittings to match. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It is walking distance from the centre which is great when you are wearing Victorian historical costume. It has it's own car park and the breakfast was delicious. We were well looked after by the staff and would be very happy to stay again. A big thank you to Gerard and Maggi for looking after us.

This is the PERFECT place to stay in Buxton. In a beautiful location with the Opera House, Pavilion, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Beautiful rooms with views overlooking the gardens and the lakes and excellent hosts who really cannot do enough for you.||We stayed here in October/November and were blown away with the service. Gerald is so very helpful. Before we arrived he sent us detail of the best restaurants in the locale and his choices were perfect. We booked them before we arrived on his recommendation and he was correct, we would not have got a table at any of them if we hadn't!||We were disappointed that the rooms at the front were already booked so we took a room at the side but were very happy with it. The guest's lounge was comfortable, well furnished and had a good supply of books about the surrounding area.||The breakfasts were superb and couldn't have been improved upon. Well presented, tasty and cooked to perfection.||We said we would come back in the Summer as the three nights we spent there really didn't give us time to see everything in Buxton and the surrounding area. We will be back and will definitely stay at The Roseleigh.||PERFECT!

We spent two nights at Roseleigh, surrounding a gig at the Pavilion Arts Centre. The room was comfortable and a good size. We went for the most expensive option, with big windows overlooking the park; there were two armchairs in the bay to make people watching easy. The location was excellent, just a few minutes walk through the park to the town centre. Breakfast was a buffet/hot order combination, all of which was good and set us up nicely for the day. Highly recommended.

First impressions were highly favourable; presentation of the public-facing areas displayed both an eye for quality décor and a high level of maintenance. Gerard was professional and helpful. His attention to detail became clear throughout the rest of our stay.||Our room, on the second floor, overlooked the park and its lake. Furnishings were to a high standard and kept immaculately clean. Unlike many other b&bs (and hotels), housekeeping was done daily and tea, coffee and bathroom essentials were kept topped up. Above all, the room was kept warm and the wi-fi worked - again, more than can be said for other hotels in Buxton!||Breakfast was amongst the best I have encountered. ingredients were fresh and a range of menu choices were available.||Five minutes' walk will bring you to one of the main local shopping streets in Buxton, close to the Market Place. You will find there local shops, pubs and also Scriveners' Bookshop. Be warned, though, that this involves a fairly steep hill. The historic centre of Buxton is slightly further away, though it can be accessed via Broad Walk which gives level foot access to the Crescent and other amenities. Also note that Roseleigh is accessed via two or three shallow steps. There is no lift to the upper floors, but a ground-floor room is available. If you can cope with stairs, though, the views from the rooms at the front of the property more than make up for any passing difficulty.||Our stay was a most pleasant break, with almost no traffic noise and a wonderful location. I would recommend Roseleigh without hesitation.

The Rose Leigh is the best Guesthouse I have ever stayed in. Every effort is made to accommodate your wishes, the breakfast is first rate, the house beautiful with a wonderful view over the park and the town is well endowed with restaurants and cafes.i would particularly recommend Santiago and San Pedro. We have stayed there numerous times and every time we have enjoyed it immensely.

Great location, overlooking the lake, and an easy stroll to restaurants, bars etc. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped rooms in a lovely period building. The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. The staff were lovely and provide service with a smile, and an excellent breakfast, a varied choice and good quality produce. I would stay here again

Very clean and had a warm welcome. Great location for accessing the town, pubs and restaurants. Fabulous view from the bay windowed bedrooms. Buxton is a a good central location for enjoying the Peak District whether walking or sightseeing.

Yelp
Our hosts, Maggi and Gerard, were very welcoming! The property is beautifully appointed with historical touches and so perfectly situated for amazing views from breakfast or your room. Front rooms have lake view but our side room had a lovely tree view. Can't imagine there is a bad room in the house. Great for a stroll in the morning around the lake before breakfast. Walking distance to everything in Buxton! (We particularly liked Simply Thai for dinner - about a 5-7 minute walk from Roseleigh.) The breakfast and our hosts helpful information really made the stay extra special. Parking is available but it's a tight fit. Probably best to let your passenger out before parking so no one has to scramble through shrubbery. I would absolutely stay here again!
