First impressions were highly favourable; presentation of the public-facing areas displayed both an eye for quality décor and a high level of maintenance. Gerard was professional and helpful. His attention to detail became clear throughout the rest of our stay.||Our room, on the second floor, overlooked the park and its lake. Furnishings were to a high standard and kept immaculately clean. Unlike many other b&bs (and hotels), housekeeping was done daily and tea, coffee and bathroom essentials were kept topped up. Above all, the room was kept warm and the wi-fi worked - again, more than can be said for other hotels in Buxton!||Breakfast was amongst the best I have encountered. ingredients were fresh and a range of menu choices were available.||Five minutes' walk will bring you to one of the main local shopping streets in Buxton, close to the Market Place. You will find there local shops, pubs and also Scriveners' Bookshop. Be warned, though, that this involves a fairly steep hill. The historic centre of Buxton is slightly further away, though it can be accessed via Broad Walk which gives level foot access to the Crescent and other amenities. Also note that Roseleigh is accessed via two or three shallow steps. There is no lift to the upper floors, but a ground-floor room is available. If you can cope with stairs, though, the views from the rooms at the front of the property more than make up for any passing difficulty.||Our stay was a most pleasant break, with almost no traffic noise and a wonderful location. I would recommend Roseleigh without hesitation.
