10 Best Coffee Shops in Cape Town

"The barista greets new customers the minute they set foot in the door at this spot in Woodstock. Another barista, busy with a pour-over, took time to explain what he was doing and where the beans came from—Myanmar. Who knew? There are three daily blends, as well as two special blends for slow-brew, pour-over coffees. Try the Kyoto style cold brew served black, on ice cubes. Staff here make up an A-team, and the top-notch coffee only adds to the appeal. Definitely pop in while shopping or make a beeline to Rosetta for coffee as a truly religious experience paired with Jason Bakery pastries and chilled reggae tunes in the background." - Jane Broughton

The place is small but really nice. I tried the Ethiopian V60 coffee — it was very good! The service was great too. They’re currently doing some building work, so it might be a little noisy, but overall it’s a lovely spot in Cape Town.

The coffee at Rosetta was nice, well made and the staff was friendly Points to improve were that it took awhile to do the pour over, they did my partner’s first and then maybe 10 min after did mine. We had the pistachios and cardamom bun that were right out of the oven and the taste was disappointingly overpowering the coffee

Visited this place four days in a row, and I can confidently say it's the best coffee spot in Cape Town. It has been around since 2010, founded by three friends who turned their passion for coffee into one of the country’s most respected specialty roasteries. Their single origin beans, roasted in small batches, deliver clean, rich flavor profiles that really stand out. The food is fresh and well thought out, and the vibe is relaxed but stylish perfect for coffee lovers looking for something genuine. After trying several cafés around the city, most felt too commercial. Rosetta still feels authentic and focused on quality. If you’re in town, it’s a must try.

They made our flat whites pretty quickly, and they were good. They are on the pricier side (around R40 to 45 min a cup of coffee). Definitely along the lines of premium coffee. If you are a heavy coffee fanatic, this is your type of place. They have coffee beans from all over the world and have different methods to get you your coffee fix. Place is kinda small inside, but the atmosphere is quiant.

Google
beautiful location that made me feel like the main character. I’ve given the food a 4 because I literally only had one drink there so I can’t say too much but the baked goods on display looked super fresh and delightful. Love this interesting space and the taisho iced coffee was delicious. Overall very considered and premium establishment.

GREAT coffee and quality food. It’s pricey but some things are worth it, as the Banana Bread (don’t miss out on this!). They have a variety of coffee beans to sell and to make for you, quality specialty origins.

One of my favorite coffee spots in Cape Town. Cosy and the coffee is really good. The staff is very friendly (shout out to Jonathan) ✊🏽

Great coffee and light meals. Very good for brunch and take a coffee. I sat on the street bench as there are no seats inside the shop. But street bench is also great! The price is slightly high but it is worth! Recomeneded!
