When this swank resort first opened as Rosewood Tucker’s Point Hotel in 2009, it ushered in a new level of island luxury. Nearly 10 years later the bar was raised yet again when its owners sunk more than $25 million into the guest rooms and public spaces, all of which are over-the-top gorgeous. In fact, that multi-year renovation, largely overseen by Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, is chiefly responsible for much of the property’s handsome new look, including a handful of just-built additions (like the Conservatory Bar & Lounge, a lobby gin bar that boasts a retractable roof to allow sunlight and salt air to pour through) and a bevy of resort-wide upgrades. What are the rooms like? There are 92 rooms and suites, all of which have a fresh new look. No gaudy flower print duvets here; rather, your room will be straight out of the pages of a design magazine, with crisp white linens on elegant four-poster beds, spa-like bathrooms with oversized soaking tubs, and large private balconies offering Atlantic views. At a minimum of 500 square feet, the rooms are also some of the biggest on the island, so you’ll have plenty of space to stretch out after a day under the Bermuda sun. Is there a charge for Wi-Fi? There's free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Drinking and dining—what are we looking at? There are three very good restaurants. At Sul Verde , dig into southern-Italian specialties served in a clubby dining room overlooking the golf course; the open-air Beach Club, steps from the hotel’s private pink sand beach, serves seafood and French-inspired dishes with an ocean view; and the Island Brasserie is a formal restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In that formal space, the walls are clad with murals of 19th-century sea ports that were commissioned in the 1960s by Pan Am Airways founder Juan Trippe, a Bermuda-based businessman who owned the Castle Harbour Resort, the property that once stood on this very site. When Rosewood Tucker’s Point opened in 2009, Trippe's son Ed acquired the paintings, which once hung in the Sky Club of New York City’s Pan Am building, and had them installed in this elegant dining room. How's the service? This is a Rosewood resort—everyone here is well-trained in the fine art of hospitality. Don’t be surprised if your smallest whims or grandest requests are well catered to. If we're hanging out in the lobby, who can we expect to see among our fellow travelers? Honeymooners with their sparkly new baubles, families whose fathers and sons have on matching Vilebrequin swimsuits, and old-timers celebrating a special wedding anniversary. What can we expect from the surrounding area? Is there a neighborhood scene? Rosewood is 10 minutes by car from the airport, and 35 to 40 minutes from the majority of Bermuda’s most beloved pink sand beaches . The Royal Naval Dockyard, home to many of the island’s top museums, is even farther. But with so much luxury right here, there's little to fret over. Is there anything you'd change? Don’t expect to get where you’re going anytime soon—this sprawling resort is spread across 250 acres. Headed to the beach? Wait out front for the free shuttle that runs between the hotel and the private club, about five minutes down the hill. Playing 18 holes? You’ll need to be driven to the course.
