Niagara Just Became a Serious Culinary Destination

"Working at the intersection of grapes and honey, this producer makes precise, often mineral wines (including a Blaufränkisch best served chilled and a fleshy, flinty Riesling AF) alongside artisanal honeys and a range of honey-driven beverages—natural meads, Meadhattans (Manhattans fermented on honey and Pinot Noir skins), mead-spiked seltzers, and a solera-style mead made from honey harvested over an eight-year span—plus flights of wine or mead and a Bee Experience led by the on-site beekeeper." - Kate Dingwall

Super pretty winery in Beamsville - their tasting room is so pretty. You can arrange for tastings on their patio, and sometimes they have food trucks around for snacks. Get the Nebulous, Sangria or Pinot Noir to take home! Oh, and they allow dogs!

We’ve hosted several events at Rosewood Winery and each one has been an incredible experience. The feedback from our guests has always been outstanding. Owner Will Roman goes above and beyond — his passion, knowledge, and engaging tours of the winery truly set the experience apart. The entire team is welcoming and professional, and the food and wine pairings are always exceptional. Whether you’re planning a special event or just dropping by with friends, Rosewood Winery is a wonderful place to enjoy. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon visit on Saturday. Made a reservation for a tasting which was enjoyed outside with a tasty snack plate. The staff were friendly and service was good. If you enjoy nature, a short walk around the property will be enjoyed even in a hot day. Always enjoy the wineries on the bench as they are less busy and away from the tourist crowds.

Had a wine tasting experience here with my friends and the staff were great! There's a lot of space for seating (indoor and outdoor). They also serve mead which was delicious 🤤🤤🤤 I love the meadhattan and Solera. The honeycomb and other small bites were also super yummy 😋 We also got a little wine bottle toy for our doggie at home. He loves it! Special Thanks to Anne for the amazing service!

Google
Had the most delicious lunch at Rosewood this past weekend. $90 (tax and tip included) for a four-course meal with tastings from a Michelin-trained chef – incredible steal! We spent hours sitting next to the vineyards in absolute bliss. Amazing service across the board, from the chef to the somm to the hospitality team (hi Megan!), who offered me a refund after the bag I was given broke and the wine I bought shattered! Couldn't recommend Rosewood enough :)

Google
We stopped here on our way back to Toronto from Niagara, and what a pleasure it was!! The wine and mead were very balanced and very delicious. We also had a couple of bites from the kitchen, and the food was also super delicious! The property was gorgeous, and the staff were super knowledgeable and friendly! We even got a few bottles to take home. Highly recommend a stop here if you get the chance!!

Google
Had an incredible time at Rosewood with friends. We booked the Food + Wine experience and were blown away by the thoughtful wine pairings and beautifully crafted plates. Each dish showcased fresh, seasonal ingredients that were thoughtfully explained by the chef. The wines were perfectly selected to complement the food and there were even a few surprise elements from the kitchen that made the experience feel extra special. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and delicious outing!

Google
We enjoyed the Estate lunch and wine pairing which was intricately prepared by chef Peter, who accommodated my wife’s dietary restrictions without missing a beat. The food uses all locally sourced ingredients including vegetables straight from their own garden and honey from their own hives. The wine along with tasting notes and background stories were presented beautifully by the sommelier, Anne. She did a perfect job pairing their wines to each course and made experience even better. Everyone at Rosewood was warm and welcoming. It’s a terrific atmosphere with great wine and food. This is truly a hidden gem, and worth the trip outside of NOTL if you’re doing a wine tour or if you’re looking for a gourmet eating and tasting experience that isn’t pretentious.

Google
Rosewood is an exceptional winery with the region’s coolest blends. The property is stunning and offers excellent service for wine tastings and food. There is something for everyone in terms of wine offerings with unique red, white, rose and orange wine. Low intervention wine making methods. The honey is always a staple in my kitchen pantry. The staff is always helpful. 10/10 recommend adding this winery as a stop on your next Niagara tour.

Yelp
Gorgeous winery to visit in the summertime. They have a beautiful patio where you can do your wine tasting. I believe it was $15 for a flight of 4 wines, which is pretty good in my books! Love the relaxed atmosphere. The staff are super knowledgeable about the wines and they make wine really approachable for newbie enthusiasts like myself. Rosewood feels like a breath of fresh air compared to some of the older, more established wineries in the area. We ended up purchasing a couple of bottles and honey after our tasting and every bottle has been amazing so far. We have had poor experiences with mead previously but the mead here? Amazing. I usually go for white wines but some of the reds here were excellent. They also do alcohol deliveries to Toronto/GTA--- honestly it's life-changing because I don't have to make the drive over there myself to get their product. I have a small collection of my favourites from here already! Rosewood has become one of my favourite wineries in the Niagara-On-The-Lake region. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The place is very small with only standing room at the bar. They have another room down the hall but we could not sit as they were setting up for a party. The outdoor patio is best for warmer weather. We did a couple of tastings and the wines were good. The staff is very friendly.

Yelp
The location of this winery is exceptional and the views spectacular. However, the staff are an entirely different story. My friends and I were celebrating a 65th birthday and planned to use the picnic area for snacks and cake (a canopy area with 4 or 5 tables set away from the wine store and restaurant). As we were settling down to enjoy some snacks and cake, a staff member rudely advised us this is not allowed and especially if we did not have any Rosewood products on display (we planned to buy the honey, as it is a staple in our home) we were stunned by her reaction, by her rudeness and by her unfriendly demeanor. we quickly realized that we were not welcome and without hesitation starting to collect our belongings to leave, while doing that a second staff member rudely advised us of the "rules" under this canopy, basically not welcome. We felt so uncomfortable, uneasy, and hurt with such inappropriate behavior. For years I have proudly introduced dozens of friends and family from overseas to this beautiful establishment. This was the last time I or my friends will ever set foot in such a place. For those 2 miserable staff members, learn to show a little kindness, it works wonders with people.

Yelp
We had such a great time here during our recent trip, I'm so glad we stopped. For one it was a gorgeous day and we sat on the patio and enjoyed some tastings. It was a Sunday on a long weekend but we only had to wait for 10 minutes or so. Our server was incredible - very kind and attentive. We tried mead flights which was very good and unique and also very reasonably priced. We also had some snacks on the side. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and I would certainly come back.

Yelp
Great service and beautiful peaceful scenery. Didn't have much main food selections but they're good for snacking while sipping the wines.

Yelp
This is a beautiful location with great wines and meads available. I tried the meads in a custom flight and all were very delicious. My favorite was the VSOP mead. I also tried the duck rilette, which was really good, a small warning that a couple bones may be in there. I was looking forward to trying other hot menu items as advertised on their Instagram and specifically came during lunchtime because of that but the cook was out at that time. Next time, I would call them before going to check that the hot food is available if I want to try their hot menu items with the wine/mead flights. The customer service was very good. I wasn't able to get phone reception and needed access to wifi to get directions back, so I asked one of the employees, Jake, for help, and he let me use his hotspot, which was so helpful and nice.

Yelp
Lovely vineryard and winery and I loved that they had MEAD!!! I love honey and I love the mouthfeel of mead more so than wine. John and I sampled a flight of ice wines and meads and left with 2 bottles and wonderful memories of evening sipping on the patio overlooking a stunning vineyard. Inside was gorgeous too, I peeked in the dining room- which was lovely, I think I actually ohh-ahh'd at the beauty of the room. The main entry has a retail wall of their products, brightly light, wonderfully displayed. I was distracted by that when I first entered and was looking at bottles before even tasting anything! I loved their logo too, but all their shirts were in black and that's just not my normal color of choice. But I was very tempted to snag a hat! Stop in, enjoy a flight and just the ambiance! And buy some bottles!

Yelp
What a wonderful experience! We loved our wine tasting here, the service was impeccable and SO friendly and informative. The ambiance was so relaxing and the area is gorgeous. I had only about an hour allotted for wine tasting on this trip (traveling with family) and I'm so glad we spent it here! PS love their winery dog Charlie!

Yelp
Looking for a cute stop on your girl's trip? This is the place. Great service, wonderful flights, and honey produced on sight that is to die for!

Yelp
My friends and I purchased a Discovery Pass for the Niagara-on-the-Lake region winery tours. This pass was $45 and included 8 tastings at up to 8 different wineries. The winery that most impressed me was Rosewood. They sampled their red wine, which I thought was a bit lighter than my preference, but still quite nice. Upon check-in, we were given the Yelp offer of 3 additional tastings. I opted to try each of their honey (mead) wines. They specialize in honey wine it seems and I thought it was really interesting to taste the difference in each of the variations of their mead wine. I ended up buying the mead wine that was thinned with apple cider vinegar. I found that there was a smooth after taste with this one that I preferred. My friends also found this to be one of the more impressive wineries. Their service was friendly and wines were unique. The estate itself was beautiful and picturesque with lots of areas for photos ops.

Yelp
I stopped by Rosewood on the way back from Niagara Falls and really glad I did. They have a great selection of honey, reds/whites and meads. It was my first time trying mead. Mead, also called metheglin, alcoholic beverage fermented from honey and water; sometimes yeast is added to accelerate the fermentation. The lady that helped us with our free flight (Yelp check-in offer) was very polite and knowledgeable. We didn't get to tour the grounds because it was really cold and the grapes were out of season. We ended up getting two jars of honey butter. It was soooooo good! I would definitely recommend for you to allow some extra time to stop by this winery!

Yelp
Despite stucco work being done to their tasting room, this place is truly STUNNING! The grounds, the outdoor seating area, and the tasting room really relaxes you and transports you to another non-Canadian wine country. Rosewood sets itself apart by being a meadery, e.g. honey wines. It's the world's oldest alcoholic beverage, who knew? So wines are on the sweeter side. Tastings were $10/4, but apparently there's a Yelp Check-in special...for FREE?? I'll hafta go again to confirm! :) They'll also offer honey tastings of a couple of honeys they produce on-site. Honeys were ok, but go for the mead tasting! I absolutely loved the outdoor seating area that they created. It provides a sense of calm and really makes you stop and enjoy the view. Stunning and unique place!

Yelp
Stop to find a Mead for Becky and I highly recommend the stop if you're up this way. Wines are great, they dont compete, probably they'd embarrass the competition! Kimberly and Bianca are wonderful hosts!

Yelp
Excellent selection of wines and a really neat day out. A couple of friends and I came out here to check out their beekeeping and wine tours. The beekeeping tour was very interesting. A small group of us suited up and were showed how beekeeping works by the owner, who's family has been doing this for generations. It was neat being up close to the hives, we even got to hold a honeycomb that was full of bees, which is pretty trippy. After that, we went to the winery area and had a tour including tastings. It's clear that everyone who works there is incredibly passionate about what they do, and it shows in their products. We each bought a bottle of reasonably priced, and very delicious, wine to take home. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, not nearly as snooty as I thought a wine tour might be.
google avatar

Eowyn K.

Yelp
The winery was gorgeous, the tasting room was small, but there is a patio in the front to relax. The tasting room also has four meads to taste. The staff was knowledgeable about the wine and mead and able to give suggestions. There is no set price for the tastings, instead they ask for a donation that is given to the charity that they selected for that month. Drinking wine and doing good at the same time.

Yelp
If Rosewood is any indication of what we're in for here at Niagara on the lake this is going to be an expensive trip and well worth it. The wines here are easily world class. Amazing high quality wines that are well worth the visit - and putting into your cellar.
google avatar

Jennel N.

Yelp
What a fabulous afternoon spent here at rosewood! One of the staff members was kind enough to chat about the estate and the honey farms located on property! He did a tasting with us and was in-depth about their wines and the love that goes into them! Highly recommended

Yelp
Another quaint winery on our list of places along the Niagara Escarpment. Rosewood has a lovely view overlooking the valley, however what makes this place unique is their honey wine that almost none of the wineries in the area serves. Coming here on our journey, as usual we took advantage of trying their exclusive collection. Guests have the option of taking their wines (purchased) out to the patio to enjoy the outdoor ambiance. Customer service was excellent and attentive.
google avatar

Ellie J.

Yelp
Rosewood was one of my favorite winery in twenty valley. It has small but nice tasting room with full of various wines and honey product. They have their own beehives, produce own honey and candles. I liked 2011 Gewurtztraminer and other whites. They have pretty solid wines. Staffs were friendly and they were very passionate about their wine. It's small winery run by family, it has definitely character and personality in it. They waved wine tasting fee cause we bought some bottles.
google avatar

Cindy D.

Yelp
Very pretty land with good wines. Unique because they are beekeepers and produce great honey and mead also. Visited here on discovery pass. Purchased some of the honey which I really enjoyed. Will be back.
google avatar

Cynthia L.

Yelp
Rosewood came highly recommended to us and they did not disappoint. Like almost all the winery estates here, this place is just as big and beautiful as any of the others. I am all for: Family-owned wineries, uniques wines, and local goods! We left with a Pinot noir (the one they had was SO Smooth), 2 honey wines and 2 jars of honey (they are a 3-generation bee-keeping family)...Drool! I understand wine is so subjective, but this first stop on our winery weekend happened to be our favorite. We can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Christopher H.

Yelp
I've been to a few wineries in my time.....well ALOT of wineries in my time, and Rosewood was on my list as we toured wineries in the Niagara region. When I visit wineries, the wine needs to be good (I like reds), but it's also the tasting room and the people. Rosewood hit high scores in all 3 areas. The person giving us the tasting was extremely knowledgeable, the wine excpetional and the view of the vineyard countryside spectacular. We learned about mead, and got to taste some. the feel of the tasting room is warm and inviting, unlike some corporate, conglomerate wineries that feel sterile. A great stop in wine country and I encourage you to ask questions, be open to tasting new things, and enjoy a great wine tasting experience.

Yelp
We had a wonderful flight of mead wines followed by their honey made on site- wildflower, creamed & smoked honey -all smooth -smoked is absolutely amazing-definitely adding this to my culinary collection!
google avatar

William L.

Yelp
We visited in October of 2016 and fell in love with the mead. More than that, we love their story and history and their overall passion for their craft. They have amazing products that we made sure to bring back to the US. We're fresh out so, next week, we'll be visiting the region again to bring back some cyser and many other things.
google avatar

Lilah M.

Yelp
This place is gorgeous, unique, but above all, every wine I tried was absolutely delicious. I wound up tasting virtually every single wine they had. I also wound up buying every single wine they had. I really wish they shipped to the US because I have found some favorites that I would order time-and-time again, especially the Rose and both Rieslings (and I rarely enjoy Rieslings.) I also enjoyed their honey wine (meade) I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
Very scenic stop. Worth going to try their mead - blends of cider, wine and honey. The views are gorgeous and the wine is great!
google avatar

Yvonne T.

Yelp
Rosewood Estates Winery & Meadery is beautiful; the gazebo and the pond is wedding-picture perfect. Besides that they have really friendly staff and they're really proactive in getting out there and promoting their brand. You'll always find them at charity events pouring you a glass of their signature mead, but then they also make other great wines such as the Sussreserve Riesling. In addition to wine, they also make honey products - candles, honey (of course), lip balm and all sorts of other things. If you're looking for a wine country getaway, skip Niagara-on-the-Lake and head to Twenty Valley because their wineries are smaller scale and I just find, generally speaking, make better wines. Rosewood definitely stands out in terms of a place I'd return to for a wine tasting and tour. It's one of those places where you'll want to stay awhile.
google avatar

Brandon C.

Yelp
Rosewood is a nice winery. Among the crowd, Rosewood stands out in three ways: 1. They have wines (among them a Riesling) that have garnered awards in international competitions. 2. They also make honey and products from honey at the vineyard. Among the offerings are candles and a honey based mead. 3. Customer service is great. Both the ladies working the tasting area were consummate professionals.
google avatar

Janet M.

Yelp
My husband and I spent last weekend touring Niagara and Rosewood was both ours favorite winery. A lot of the other vineyards were starting to look the same by the time we got to this one and it was a nice change because it's family run by people who you can tell are very passionate about their wines and are happy to help those who are by no means experts. The grounds are also beautiful and you never felt rushed like we did at some of the other ones which seemed to just crank out tour groups. Rosewood was also set apart from the rest because they have bee hives as well and make Mead. Neither of us had ever had mead before but it's actually delicious! I'd definitely recommend you get a bottle (or 6 like us :) ). Upstairs they have a really neat glassed in honey comb so you can see everything going on. There's a tube running to the outside wall and the bees are very active inside of it. If you have kids (we'll be back with our nephews) they'd love it.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
Really enjoyed stopping here and trying mead wine as well as other options. Was not very busy and the wines were enjoyable. Purchased a chard which was very nice. I recommend stopping here. There was construction to expand but was not an issue in the tasting.
google avatar

Devon R.

Yelp
Great service. Mindy was very friendly and knowledgeable. They are updating the property. Cannot wait to see the outcome! Had the cheese board which was delicious. They had a food truck which looked delicious. Worth a visit for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
Had a lot of fun on the tour and wine tasting! Great host, fun tour, and great wines. Recommended.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stop at Rosewood Estates. Wine was decent and the mead and honey tasting were a bonus and different from the rest. View is nice on a good weather day!

Danielle Y.

Yelp
Came in from Toronto last week with my boyfriend and a friend and visited Rosewood after a trip to Stratus. Sonia at the tasting station was so helpful & knowledgeable!! The wines are phenomenal, try the cab franc, Pinot noir, semillon & sussreserve Riesling!! The honey is to die for (and pretty cheap!) and definitely try their signature product: the mead! Such a cool and unique product. We came in for just a tasting and maybe one or two bottles however we ended up walking out with a case! (The wines are pretty reasonably priced so its easy to do :p)
google avatar

S R.

Yelp
Picked up a bottle of their Pinot noir. One of my favorite Ontario Pinots to date. Fabulous wine, friendly staff and reasonable pricepoint. Will definitely return.

Steven D.

Yelp
What an experience! Favorite Winery in the area. Tasty mead, delicious wine and the snack platter was full of amazingness. Get some smoked honey to go!

Cesar F.

Yelp
This place is the best. Great customer service! We sat on the second floor nook and enjoyed our cheese board that complimented our wines beautifully

Foodie L.

Yelp
really good wine tasting options (i tried all of them) at a good price. Origin Chardonnay and Sussreserve was my pick. I also bought honey comb. next time, i definitely will try the wine tour!

Dayna L.

Yelp
Exceptional Chardonnay, most complex I've ever had. If I was reviewing based solely on the wine, I'd give 5 stars. But the short older woman was extremely condescending - clearly she has a low opinion of Americans and their wines. We ended up buying 4 bottles because the wine was so spectacular, despite the distinctly sub-par service.

Isis P.

Yelp
The most delightful wine, friendly staff and delicious tastings that were informative as well as inspirational. They welcomed inside to the tasting room my sweet dog so she didn't have to stay in the car and she got to meet the vineyard dog! Big plus! Delicious honeys. The high-light of my Canada visit. I'll be back!
