Restaurant is so good. They have amazing music in the background so you can vibe as you eat. It’s not overly lit, it’s the perfect lighting. The service is amazing, they attend you immediately. The food takes about 15 to 20 minutes to prepare and brought out. Waitresses are very friendly and provide personal options when stuck or don’t know what to get. Come eat, food is so fire. They are bilingual, they can speak English and Spanish.

Salsa was spicy and delicious! I got the Molcajete Mixito which was pretty unique here with Cactus and green onion mixed in. The fried cheese was amazing and I’ve never had that in a Molcajete before. The sauce and meat were great though, lots of food and spicy flavors. Service was fantastic with the server being super chill and friendly. Overall just your standard Mexican joint with some unique Floridian options.

Google
We loved this place. It's friendly, small, homemade, cheap and delicious. Had been out snorkeling all day, so we were looking for a sit down that is Uber casual but not fast food and voila! We found it. They had a walk in party of 22 which is more than half of the seats, stills.manged timely service with a smile. I tipped 25% because they don't charge enough.

We’ve been going to, and loving Rosita’s for years, and are so glad, the new owners kept everything as it was. Delicious food, reasonable prices, great friendly service, and an atmosphere that feels like family, authentically local, clean and simple. We live in the Keys and whenever we make the drive to Miami Dade County, our “go to” gift to ourselves, is an obligatory stop at Rosita’s.

Very comforting atmosphere, delicious authentic Mexican food, friendly and attentive service. If you're looking for good Mexican food. This is the place!

Stopped at Rosita on our way back from Everglades National Park, it was a great choice. Our family of 5 ate for under $40. The chips and salsa were a bit spicy for our kids. The portions were generous, the taste was 5 star! The ambiance was great, and the service was super. Highly recommend supporting this small business!

As a suggestion by the front desk worker at the Holiday Inn Express, I took my son to have some authentic Mexican food as neither had eat any while in Florida yet. I'm glad she suggested this place as we both enjoyed her recommendation. My son & I both wanted more salsa due to the flavor, especially in my shrimp cocktail. The chimichanga was on point according to him as he barely was able to eat anything else including the appetizer he ordered. We're glad they provided to-go menu's as we'll be able to decide what we want to eat prior to our next visit.

Yelp
Great food, authentic Mexican food. Their sauce is delicious and has maintained the same flavor and quality for years

Yelp
Delighted to share that Rosita's is open again and the food is just as good as I remembered. According to our server, there is a new owner but the same cooks and that is a very good thing, indeed. We were greeted upon entry and immediately seated. Chips and salsa appeared quickly and drinks followed shortly thereafter (for the time being, no alcohol as the license hasn't been issued yet). My carne asada tacos were delicious. Fresh, warm tortillas filled with perfectly cooked steak served with soft Mexican rice and refried beans. Alongside was a bowl of diced onion and fresh cilantro to garnish. My spouse had the grilled chicken tacos with the same sides and enjoyed her meal immensely. Rosita's has always been a place to get fresh, authentic Mexican American cuisine at a reasonable price. The staff was friendly and attentive and the restrooms spotless. The whole menu looked enticing and I hope to continue exploring it on future visits.

Yelp
Had a wonderful lunch at Rosita's. We hadn't been here in a while and we were concerned because of some of the comments. The food is exactly as it was before (that means terrific) and the service was wonderful. Lots of vegetarian options and we loved the hot sauce. Under new management but the business stayed in the family with the same tasty recipes. Great choice for Mexican food. Good food, fair prices, nice portions, friendly service, plenty of parking, and nice and clean. What more could you ask for?

Yelp
We were trying to find a Mexican restaurant & had a hard time finding parking. Two ladies told us we had to eat here! They'd been eating there for 25 years! It was very good! It was a Sunday night & very busy with take out & in house dining, so service wasn't very good. We waited for a while & a waitress took our order. I asked about chips & salsa & she said they came with the meal. Finally one meal came & the shrimp cocktail. I asked about drinks and she got them. Then the chips & salsa and the other plate arrived. The beef chimichangas were delicious! We had shredded beef with the red sauce. The chips & salsa were good. We were stuffed!

Yelp
excellente servicio y la comida muy buena. El lugar muy limpio, nos atendieron desde la puerta. Se lo recomiendo a todos.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE ! They take your card information and then charge your card months later. My coworker noticed in her account she was charged twice over $100. So I checked my account and I was charged over $60 and I haven't even been there in over a month. When the owner and her workers were confronted they stated " it's not our problem, get out of our establishment" they all acted suspicious and they are DEFINITELY doing some type of fraud.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem. We live almost two hours away but find reasons to go down to Florida city to visit just to get these tacos. The salsa and chips they give complimentary are always so good and the salsa is HOT! My mouth is watering just thinking about my lunch from there earlier. Get the tacos al carbon on their homemade corn tortillas - just trust me. The rice and beans are to die for also. The nachos are also great. Can't wait to come back!! I want to try their soups next, although everything that comes out of the kitchen looks excellent.

Yelp
This is so sad. This restaurant has always been a fantastic place. Not only the food was fantastic, the service, the ambience, and of course the price for the quality of food. I've been trying to go to it and it's always been closed which lead me to to say that pandemic took another great place. Which is to extremely sad, it was such a fantastic place to have to shit down. When you call to see if they're open, there's a recording that said that they are going through new ownership and new administration and will be closed until further notice. I just hope the new people handle it with the care and love like the old owners have for so many years. I wish them luck. I can't wait for it to open and I'll test it again. A loyal Rositas Customer.

Yelp
First meal of vacation on our drive to the Keys. We all really enjoyed Rositas! If you're confused on what to get, they even have pictures in the front of every menu item. The artwork and wall murals in the restaurant are super cool too, especially the bathroom doors. I've never had a shrimp cocktail like the one I've had here. It's a footed tulip sundae glass filled with shrimp and then saturated with a delicious seasoned tomato puree. Happy food dance happening. Pro tip- try their Michelada! It's made with beer, lime juice, spices, tomato juice with a really tasty Tajin rim. They also have some really awesome hot sauces here too- El Yukateco and Valentina. I've never had either before and they were both hot and delicious! If you're passing through Homestead, make this a stop. Your tastebuds will be very pleased.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my enchiladas with red sauce. I got 1 chicken, and 2 ground beef, and it came with rice-n-beans. There were small potatoes in the ground beef which I really liked. Chips & salsa before the meal were fresh, and the salsa was very spicy.

Carlos G.

Yelp
Very very very old school restaurant. Seating is small but the food is good. Definitely mom and papa local place. Everyone working here is kind. Food is delicious.

Clint C.

Yelp
This place is closed indefinitely according to another local restaurant. We originally went here on Saturday evening and when we arrived, no lights or people.

Brad F.

Yelp
We happened upon Rosita's by chance and could not have been more fortunate. My wife has not been happy with any Mexican restaurant since we moved to Florida, but she loved it. The beef chimichangas were fantastic, the pico de gallo was phenomenal, the guacamole was delicious, my wife thoroughly enjoyed the enchiladas and the salsa. This place is an absolute hidden gem!

Luisa O.

Yelp
We come here for the amazing authentic Mexican breakfast. We usually get the huevos rancheros with rice and beans and corn tortillas. The plates are very plentiful and soooo delicious. They are currently providing disposable menus, cups & utensils if you dine in. They also provide take-out as well. The tables are spacious enough as well.

Randy A.

Yelp
Rosita's is an 'off the beaten path' family owned small restaurant. We never would have found it except that it's listed in Fodor's Florida Travel book. We tracked it down and were delighted with the whole experience. Service was great and the food was authentic Mexican. Well worth the effort to find the restaurant!

Carissa J.

Yelp
The chimichangas are really cool. They're little and served in 3s like enchilada's. The beans and rice are good. They even have my favorite flavor of jarritos - grapefruit!

Jennifer G.

Yelp
I have passed by this place so many times and today we finally decided to try it and WOW it was amazing! We ordered tacos de barbacoa and carne asada and both were amazing. Great flavor the tortillas were soft and delicious and they are served with beans and Mexican rice with a side of onion and fresh cilantro. Everything was a winner and we cannot wait to go back and try their other options! Prices were affordable and it is super clean inside and there's a pretty nice amount of indoor seating. They also give you complimentary chips and amazing salsa with just the right amount of heat

Brenda C.

Yelp
Service and the quality of food have diminished. I was a customer for many years when you had to wait to get inside and now the place is always empty. Food is now poor quality. It just not the same once the new generation took over.

Anu D.

Yelp
We ordered enchiladas and chicken fajita.. for fajita, it was average as it was very blunt and the flavors could not be distinguished. As someone who has been to a lot of Mexican restaurants, I know it can be better, plus they charge extra for the sour cream..

Blossom G.

Yelp
What happened to the smaller crispy chimichangas? I am sad just got take out and not enough Red sauce and even though the chicken chimichangas are huge may be smaller would be what they used to make- Crust is not crunchyno crust Not what I remembered from last week looking forward to seeing the traditional recipe back again

Sherry W.

Yelp
Great authentic food at an excellent price. For $6, I had a taco, enchilada, and beans. They start you with chips and salsa. The tortillas tasted homemade. Portion size was good and not overwhelming. There is no bar or outside seating. It is a large dining room. It is clean and the staff is friendly and efficient. There is street parking on the side of the restaurant. I would return on my next trip down to the Keys. It is right off US1...very quick in and out dining.

Theresa Z.

Yelp
Server brought us extra meal that we didn't order. Told her and she didn't even respond and she charged us for it. My son ordered a beef burrito and got just beans. Server was too busy talking to kitchen staff to come back to the table after bringing our food. We never even got refills on our drinks. Food was terrible. My chimichanga was literally a square that was about 4" by 4". I've never seen anything like it. It's supposed to be a fried burrito.

Dee C.

Yelp
Very unassuming little place. We had a great lunch there with wonderful service. We saw decent reviews and took a chance and stopped for a late lunch. Tacos, enchiladas and burritos were all very good.

Tyal R.

Yelp
Went back for a second time and was even more impressed, had to up my 4 star review from a month ago to a 5 star review!!! Definitely our first choice!!! I've driven by this establishment a few times, I thought the place was closed, but this time we got out and checked the door. Sure am glad we did, because we found us a new town favorite Mexican food restaurant!! Very tasty, and service was excellent.

Stanne S.

Yelp
Very welcoming all I ordered was a horchata but very clean amazing atmosphere I definitely recommend 8.5 out of 10

Angela L.

Yelp
Service was good, but the food wasn't. Rice and beans were dry, it was not very authentic. The pozole was .... so so. The tacos were ok, we had al carbon and barbacoa they were decent but not great. And the Chile relleno was the worst one I have ever had. In conclusion...we got a good service, bad meal!

Wayne W.

Yelp
Place was very clean inside and out nice waitstaff menu very large great illustrations salsa and chips were medium food was ok problem for me everything was made then refrigerated then reheated nothing made for me my suggestion would be cut menu back make thing fresh at point of order and you gain more customers

Niclas L.

Yelp
Really good and authenthic Mexian food, Good value for money and friendly staff.. Go ahead and try it you will not be dissapoointed..

Beverly J.

Yelp
very nice restaurant to enjoy with the family, very nice atmosphere, you really feel in Mexico, and the food is delicious.

Lisy L.

Yelp
Came here with a friend that lives in homestead He had never been there now it's his new place for authentic Mexican food. All is made fresh when you order. Service is always great and very friendly. I have been coming here over 20 years and the food is still excellent!!!! Don't miss rositas

Suzanne S.

Yelp
It was the best and truly authentic Mexican food I had. Was I the area for a race and it was the perfect preface meal. Service was top notch. Recommend it

Bebita Q.

Yelp
First time coming and we LOVED IT!!! Good service, amazing food, great atmosphere. We will be back for more!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
First time eating traditional mexican food and I can only say that I loved it. It feels like home. The girls are amazing with the service. Kudos to the chef.

Kathleen L.

Yelp
not been here in 2 years rated it at 5 then and rating it a 5 again. excellent and authentic. Great Service and they are open 8 am until 9 pm

Carol A.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to have an authentic Mexican lunch is Rositas! When local people dine at a restaurant, you know you've hit a goldmine! I always fall back on one of my favorite items which is "huevos rancheros". I haven't had it prepared so deliciously since I spent a summer in Guadalajara, Mexico while I was in college many years ago. The tortillas and "refritos" are homemade and taste delicious with hot sauce and eggs cooked sunny side up to perfection. Make a point of stopping at Rositas in Florida City the next time you are on your way to visit the Everglades.

Nadia D.

Yelp
Absolutely loved it. Simple. Authentic. Tasty food! Waiter was very friendly. Good variety menu for everyone taste. Try their jarritos pineapple soda. ( Mexican soda) yumm

Jared P.

Yelp
You can tell at Rosita's that they really care about the food they are cooking. It is the hipster free zone of non-irony, and great authentic home cooking. I judge restaurants on their side dishes and when they bring our home made corn tortillas, you know it's going to be good. The layers of flavors in the beans were astoundingly wonderful. Conjuring up memories of my youth. I ordered the lengua, which was delicious, I just wish they peeled it more thoroughly. All in all, tremendous.

Anna W.

Yelp
Great food and service! We're visiting from out of town but had heard that while we're here in homestead we had to try and get some authentic Mexican. Rositas did not disappoint! Fantastic enchiladas and chips and guacamole! So fresh and full of flavor! Food was served piping hot and we were in and out in under 30 mins service was so fast! I can't wait to come back!! Please give this place a try!

Carla L.

Yelp
I so very much enjoy true Mexican. In our area we don't have much real Mexican food, places like "Lime Fresh" are only too predominant and completely leave me disheartened. On occasion we can make it out to get some of the real thing. This trip to Homestead we decided to try a new place and found Rosita's through Yelp. The decor on the inside and out reminded me so much of the little Mom and Pop Mexican places in Chicago, and the food did as well. It was hearty honest to goodness delicious home made Mexican. Its small, quaint and well worth the visit. I had Chilaquiles with Chicken, and I have to say it was outstanding. I usually don't eat the re-fried beans and rice because they usually taste generic but here they were the real deal.

Madison F.

Yelp
Amazing AUTHENTIC mexican food! I got the chimichanga with chicken and it was absolutely incredible. If you're in the area, definitely make sure to pick up some food. You will not regret it!!!

Matthew T.

Yelp
Just off the main drag as you come into Homestead you will find Rosita's. Program this place into your GPS, your brain or what ever it takes. If you are a refugee from California this place will be right up your alley. We were coming back from the Keys and stopped here for lunch. I actually found it on Yelp as we were getting close and the reviews mentioning it reminded them of places in California convinced me we had to stop here for lunch. It is a little dark inside and basic almost cafeteria style tables and chairs, but that little dish of picked peppers and carrots was there on the table staying me in the face and I had a good feeling this was going to be yummy. It was a hard choice, but I hadn't had a good tamale in a long time, so I got the pork ones and the wife got the sopas, but I convinced her to get the chorizo and potato ones. Boy was that a smart move. The sopas were amazing! The potatoes were a little crispy and the chorizo was something special. I really hope they make it themselves because it tasted like someones grandmother made it. I'll be dreaming about that chorizo for long time. The tamales were good as well. The Masa was so tender and yummy and the pork filling at a nice flavor, but not very spicy. Did I mention that the lunch was very reasonable and the amount of food you get is a smoking deal? Almost makes me want to go on a road trip to Homestead this weekend.

Michael W.

Yelp
Finally a place in a Southern State that can put red sauce and good melted cheese over enchiladas! Sounds simple, but try to find it and you wont get it most places. So that made me happy right there. Simple place. I paid $1 more for barbacoa (beef-which isnt ground) but it was a bit mushy, more like pot roast. Overall though it was simple and easy and I was pleased. Parking in front was easy.

William B.

Yelp
I'm sorry, no. After hearing all about the allegedly amazing Mexican food in Homestead, we took Yelp's recommendation and stopped here on a recent trip. The food was adequate. Tacos al carbon were competently prepared but not that flavorful, ditto the enchiladas verde. The other fixings (rice, beans, etc.) were similarly underwhelming. Guacamole was large in quantity but low in avocado flavor-- I don't know whether they used lackluster avocados or stretched it with sour cream. And my horchata tasted like it had come from a powder (and *looked* as if that powder had been talcum). The one bright point was the red salsa, which was zippy, spicy, and fresh. Otherwise, this is worse than the Mexican food I've had in DC, which I regard as a pretty low bar.

Delene O.

Yelp
Love this place, quick and good food. And if you have an issue they will fix it right away

Em S.

Yelp
Huge fan of Rositas for my Mexican fix. I like their open kitchen so you can see their food prep. You will find everyone eating here from local farmers to tourists to lawyers wearing shirts and ties. Portions are generous. Price is extremely reasonable. Taste is authentic. Not a fancy place. I would call it a "hole in the wall," but what a gem! The service is so fast, I don't need to call ahead for take out. Highly recommended for authentic Mexican in Homestead/Florida City.

Lisa M.

Yelp
The place is cute and the servers have a nice demeanor. But that's the only positives I have to contribute. The service was awful. When we entered the restaurant, there was hardly anyone in there and the people who were there looked annoyed, which should have been a red flag but we sat down anyway. We sat there with our menus without anyone coming to get our drink order for at least 20 minutes. We ordered 2 soft drinks, a margarita, 2 appetizers and two entrees. Only one appetizer came (the other one came at the end of the meal). The entrees came with out the sides and still no margarita. When the food came she asked me what flavor margarita I wanted so I asked "what flavors do you have?". She said didn't know so she disappeared for 10 minutes to find out. The sides came after the meal was over. I canceled my margarita lol. Also while we were eating we were dying of thirst because she never brought the drinks back. Long story short, the service was awful and the food was merely mediocre. Never coming back here again:

Blank B.

Yelp
Best Mexican restaurant in all of Florida City. We keep coming back year after year. The shrimp soup is bomb!

Armando H.

Yelp
Friendly service...authentic Mexican food...the Chimigangas were very good as was the Red Mole Chicken...salsa was good but chips were stale...first place I visit in the area that the chips and salsa are NOT complimentary...

Gustavo A. L.

Yelp
Good and authentic Mexican restaurant in Florida city. No frills, but good service and god prices to match. Don't come looking for fancy or ambiance, but you will definitely be pleased with simply good authentic Mexican food. We had Quesadillas which are a bit different in that they look and feel more like cheese empanadas but they are quite good. The Torta milanesa is as good as it gets and the Chilaquiles are flavorful and delicious. Most dishes come with beans and rice and maybe a small salad. Definitely go for the guacamole and be brave, add the jalapeno peppers. All this with a dos equis beer ! Good stuff. Triple bonus !!! it is at the end of the Busway at right at the entrance to the South Dade bike trail, so you can ride you bike there all the way from Miami! It doesn't get any better than this.
