Rosleague Manor Hotel

We were on a driving tour of Ireland with friends and stayed for two nights so we could enjoy drives around Connemara. The Rosleague Manor occupies a beautiful position overlooking a lake. We had a large comfortable room with views across the lake. There was a good size bathroom and our only real criticism of this hotel were the tiny bath towels! We ate both nights in the restaurant where we had excellent food and very friendly attentive service. Breakfast was excellent with freshly cooked and very tasty hot food as well as an extensive buffet. Overall on our 15 day tour of Ireland this was the best hotel we stayed in.

This is a charming country hotel which is located in spectacular countryside with amazing views and ambience |Rooms were comfortable and well appointed |The food was amazing. We stayed two nights and had opted for dinner on the first night, but the meal was so good that we booked dinner the second night also. |Best lamb I have ever eaten. |Breakfasts were of an equal quality. |The staff were welcoming and warm, and the owners clearly put their heart and soul into it.

One of the loveliest hotels we have ever stayed. Beautiful, charming, restrained, old fashioned, excellent service. And the dogs, how lovely to have a dog away from home! Food was (rather too) delicious. If you want flash and brash this isn't the place for you, but we'll be back.

We have just had a stay at this fabulous hotel. The house is stunning, the staff so friendly. But, the food was amazing. All local produce. Eggs from the chickens that you drive past on the drive up to the Manor. The jam homemade. The granola was wonderful. Everything to the little plate of bread before your evening meal. The stunning views to the comfortable huge bed. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

This is a review of Mark, the hotel owner, rather than of a stay at the hotel. I believe it is relevant so please read on. ||My partner and I, while driving around on a very wet day yesterday, ended up stuck in a roadside ditch near Rosleague Manor. In search of help I met Mark who was on a cherry picker pruning some large trees on the hotel avenue. He immediately dropped tools, making very light of the interruption, and came along to examine the situation. ||The extraction of the car from the ditch took over an hour and necessitated an amount of experimentation. Mark was extremely helpful and very kind, inter alia lying flat on his front in the muck to examine the problem lest the car be damaged. He was understanding and patient in dealing with my nervousness, expert at the task and willing to try three times before we had success. ||We learned only by accident that he owned the hotel.||It seems to me that the characteristics displayed by Mark would guarantee that one would be in very good hands in his hotel and we look forward to patronising it on our next trip to Connemara. ||‘Ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine’ is an old Irish saying to indicate that people depend on each other’; in other words, vaunting the importance of community and kindness. Mark exemplified this and transformed a stressful experience into a pleasant story of how nice people are in the west of Ireland.

Feel like you are coming home for the holidays at this lovely Manor House. Our room was spacious, beautiful and comfortable. After driving and touring all day, we enjoyed a walk through their gardens down to the water and enjoyed some wine outside and in the solarium before dinner. ||Dinner was fabulous - 5 Star value and taste. I went with the 5 course both nights and my husband did the 2 course. I ordered the lobster thermidore which was the entire lobster, well displayed and all the claw meat accessible and placed with in the space by the head. Eatables and potato’s were served family style to the table. ||The staff is friendly and accommodating. Every day, we enjoyed wine or cocktails in one of the sitting rooms by the fire or outside when it was nice. This is a must stay and we will return if we are ever back in Ireland. It was so comfortable and relaxing, we added an extra night. |Also - go down to the water side and try a crab sandwich from the Crab shack down the street! |(I decided to read why one reviewer would rate this as terrible. It appeared they were looking for 5 Star accommodations in the room (flawless pillows, light fixtures, vanities). I loved the ways the rooms looked. As I mentioned… it’s like going home for the holidays.

This was our first time staying here and we will definitely come back. It's a charming Irish country manor hotel with wonderfully attentive and friendly staff. You feel as if you are staying at the country home of a friend's rich uncle. The food was fabulous -- interesting dishes with the menu changing each evening, well-executed and nicely served.

In an incredible location, a stay here is like staying with favourite (rich) relatives. ||The rooms are vast, the grounds are tended with care, the food is, simply, excellent. ||Breakfast is a treat that obviates any need for lunch. Eggs from the hotel’s “rescue “ chickens, bacon that tastes of bacon, delightful silver service for breakfast and dinner |Speaking of dinner, langoustines, lobster, duck, whatever we tried was unadulterated and well cooked from top|notch ingredients. ||The staff are a delight too. I can’t wait to return

We spent a weekend here and were treated like royalty. When you arrive, Tyson, the resident four legged furry employee greets you warmly. As we have been away from home for a few weeks I was all too glad to give him a few scratches and pet his silky ears. We had a B and B package that included a 5 course meal one night and breakfast both days. The food was excellent and very filling. For dinner there were meat, fish and vegetarian offerings, and the fried potatoes served family style were divine. I had the duck entree and it was so moist and tender that it nearly fell off of the bone. Breakfast has yogurt, cereal and baked items as a buffet, and a full offering of eggs and other cooked to order items as well. Very satisfying. If you go, be sure to take the short walking paths to the water. Tyson will accompany you and be thrilled if you throw his stick into the water for a game of fetch. Another path will take to see the resident pigs who literally squeal with delight if you feed them leafy greens you find on the path. The suites are beautiful with comfy beds, but we were hardly in them as there is so much to do and see in the area.

One of the most romantic, secluded spots in the West of Ireland. The hotel offers a charm that makes you feel welcome and relaxed from the first minute and let me tell you, the restaurant is one of Ireland's hidden treasures. The food, service, surroundings and general ambience leaves you breathless as if you'd just experienced the finest moments that life has to offer. My wife and I celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary here and we'll have to do some real searching to find anywhere to match this place in the coming years. Top notch. Go raibh mille maith agat!

Absolutely beautiful resort with great privacy and jaw dropping scenery. The rooms are a nice size and pretty good value at their price but it is still very expensive. Lots of things to do although there is mainly old people staying at the resort. One problem is that all the rooms are way too hot and you are practically burning under the covers another was that the dinner was sub par. I had lobster and scallops, the lobster was overcooked and the scallops were not fresh. For a pretty pricey meal it was a terrible value. All in all great place to go on a honeymoon but make sure you eat out.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely gorgeous! The room was comfortable, the owner welcoming and friendly and the scenery was divine. The Chef is French and his cooking skills are above anything I have every experienced. I cannot wait to travel across the pond to visit again!
