Yelp
I learned two things about the Rossland Beer Co. on our last trip to Red. One: this is THE place to hang out and talk with locals. Two: Canadians aren't really into Yelp.
When we were there, they seemed to be suffering from overwhelming demand. Another restaurant in town mentioned that they couldn't keep Rossland Beer Co.'s brews in stock, and the brewery itself only had a Hefe and Lager on the board. But as far as problems a brewery can have, that seems like a pretty good one.
They've got a small food menu, a fairly small indoor area and a patio that was packed at 5:00 on a Saturday afternoon.
While we were there, we got to low-down on real estate from one local, the low-down on the ski-industry from another, and met up with a few mountain bikers we'd seen on the trail earlier in the day.
We also got made fun of for using Yelp.
When we came in, I said something about how hard they were to find on the internet. The owner said, "What are you talking about, everyone finds us on the internet!"
I said something about how they didn't exist on Yelp, and the patron next to me said, "What is that, like Tripadvisor for Americans?"
Yes. Apparently it is.
