Excellent lunch here yesterday. The pizza's are really good and my friend said the gluten friendly one she had was first rate. Also had the parmigiana which was great. Our waiter was very good and prices are reasonable for such a central spot.

Food is great for pizzas and spaghettis and dessert (margarita pizza, verduretta pizza, diavola pizza, carbonara pasta super good, hot fresh nutella donut). All certainly Italian style, a bit expensive, especially when they charge for random things like a bit of honey on the side. Nice warm ambience with a casual feel and even some throwback American pop songs on in the background. The tables are a bit disoriented so seats are staggered so they could possible do butter with space mgmt. Staff are very attentive, considerate to use separate cutting tools for vegetarian and near trays, and wait was about 20 minutes around 7 pm on Sunday.

Great service, great food! Manager squeezed was able to seat six of us and Rudy provided exceptional service and was so patient and knowledgeable for our many questions!! Gluten free crust was delicious always, which is hard to find!

First time at this restaurant and would definitely come back if in London again. Fabulous, tasty food, and great service overall. The food was very quick to come out (which was helpful as we were heading to a theatre show afterwards), but you could clearly tell it had been freshly made. Our server Anisa was lovely, and she seemed genuinely interested that everything was to our satisfaction (which it was!). If it’s your first time, it’s worth signing up for the rewards card as you get 10% off your first visit. We had a 3 course meal for 2 with drinks and sides for under £100, which we felt was very reasonable for the quality of food! We even arrived a little early and asked if it was possible to be seated, and it wasn’t a problem. Will definitely be back!

I love this place, the food is amazing, and the staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. I've been several times now and have really enjoyed the friarelli, vegetarian pizzas, and the basil cocktail is delicious. Kirtana (Keta) was our most recent host and she was so lovely, welcoming and fun. If I could change one thing it would be the layout of the tables, the ones in the middle of the room feel very hectic with people brushing past constantly to go to the bathrooms or bring food, drinks and plates to and from the kitchen, it's a bit like being in the middle of the road while trying to relax and enjoy a meal, some kind of wall/Booth would make the experience a whole lot more comfortable, but other than this one aspect it's a solid 10 out of 10 place which I have and will continue to revisit.

Unfortunately, our experience here was incredibly disappointing, primarily due to the manager's rude and unwelcoming behavior. From the moment we walked in, we were spoken to with an unnecessary level of hostility, as if we had done something personally offensive. The pizza itself was mediocre, but I've had average food before and still returned because of decent service. In this case, the treatment was so poor it completely overshadowed the meal. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, especially fellow travelers. There are far better places to spend your time and money.

Service here is really great and friendly. Ambiance is nice and lively and it was busy on a Sunday afternoon. Food itself is average at best. This is kind of like a UK-version of Olive Garden except there are no free breadsticks. Our party of 5 had spaghetti, a salad, ravioli, meatballs, and a pizza. Nothing was remarkable and all seemed a bit under seasoned. We definitely won't return.

If I could give zero stars, I would. The manager greeted us with a nasty attitude the moment we walked in, completely unprovoked. We asked (politely) to sit at one of the many empty booths, and he snapped, "Not possible! You can't just sit there, you need a reservation!" Seconds later, he sat a walk-in without a reservation in one of those exact booths. Make it make sense. Then came the pizza... promised to be crispy. It was limp and undercooked. We asked if it could go back in the oven to crisp up, and the manager threw even more attitude, dramatically insisting it was "impossible" because it had already been cut. First of all, it was barely sliced and could've easily been crisped up. He just didn't want to deal with it. Completely rude, unprofessional, and clearly doesn't care about customer experience. The manager's behavior alone ruined the entire meal. We won't be back.

I went on a Tuesday night @ 7, the restaurant was almost full but the vibes were good. The gluten free pizza dough is really chewy and yummy. I ordered the Napoletana GF and it was a little oily, maybe bc the anchovies, but good. My BF liked the Ventura with regular crust. The regular crust is more fluffy while the GF is expectedly flat. The pies came out super fast, just a minute after the drinks. The sharing cocktail just was huge!

Great spot to grab a quick pizza before or after theatre. The staff was great, and the Neapolitan style pizza was very good. Busy place but tables open up relatively quickly. The Italian pop soundtrack adds to the good atmosphere.

I ordered the cacio e Pepe, I was expecting it to be much more cheesy. It was quite odd because it had zucchini's and mint on it... I've never heard of that at all the Italian places I've been to but it was okay. The ambiance in there was quite nice

It's been 6 months since I've visited the UK and I constantly think about this place. I think about how bad the food was. It looked like Chef Boyardee Beeferoni, but somehow tasted worse. Truly unfortunate considering the hefty price. The service was truly appalling. We were sat and didn't get a waiter until about 20 minutes later. The waiter took our order, meanwhile a family came in, got their food and left. By the time they left the waiter returned to ask us our order again as he had forgotten. It was a horrible experience. 0/10 would not recommend.

We enjoyed this place - they offered gluten free pizza which we welcomed after a long day of exploring, and before going to a show. The staff was nice, the atmosphere was a bit loud, and we did actually have a celebrity sighting in the restaurant which was pretty neat.

Came her to experience Italian food. The restaurant is located along a sharp corner in Soho with incredible views. Great ambiance, friendly staff, large windows. Plants, window paint, and fun decor rings the tables. The ragu I had was delectable and the meat was so tender and flavorful. It took forever to get the bill, but we popped in right before the dinner rush and the mostly empty restaurant was filled by the time we left. The area this restaurant is located in is prime, and it was incredible food if you're not snobby about your Italian food. We've eaten at Rossopomodoro's before in Venice and Los Angeles and had great experiences there as well. However this time we came pretty jet lagged and tired from a long flight and as always, the food was great! We were energized after dinner which was greatly appreciated lol. But would definitely recommend it (keep in mind the prices are pretty high but considering how touristy the area is, it's to be expected)

Not good. Not only did I see the food sitting getting cold, I watched a waitress with her hand put the ham on the pizza after was waiting. She then gave the pizza to us not even cut Pizza was not even done Terrible place to go waiting for a show. Bathroom smelled horrible Obvy Unsanitary

Great service! It was my first time so I wasn't sure what to order. But the waiter recommended I try the pizza that comes with 3 flavors. It was delicious!! I also had the hazelnut ice cream for dessert and was in heaven. I highly recommend this place.

Came here as a way to escape the rain but turned out to be a good surprise. We got two pizzas and two pastas to share between 4 people, and we had leftovers. The place has a second floor so at least they can accommodate a lot of people. I ordered the parpadelle which has pancetta which was really good. The pizzas, however, were quite underwhelming. I think I would want to try their other pastas if we were back, but i wouldn't lose sleep if we never went back either.

No sure, why the poor review here. I was taken here for lunch by my (very) Italian manager. Her stamp of approval was partially responsible for my slightly higher expectations coming in. I was a little disappointed by the lack of lasagna on the menu, which I was really craving. However, I ordered the closest thing to lasagna on the menu, which was the beef bolognese. I loved that fact that the pasta was hand-made and the sauce was rich. The icing on the cake for me was literal icing (cream) that came with the affogato. They served the espresso in a separate kettle, which allowed me to control the ice cream to espresso ratio throughout my indulgence. Brilliant! Also, one of my friends at the lunch, made a bold claim that Rossopomodoro have some of the best pizza in London. I'll have to test that theory next time around.

Nice relaxed dinner! Lots of Vegetarian Options! We hit this place after we were disappointed that we could not get into Dishoom, an Indian restaurant nearby that had long lines. Boy, we were happy we dined here instead! We got seated quickly even though it was a fairly busy evening around 7.30 p.m. Service was unhurried and relaxed. The waiters all seem to be from Italy with an Italian accent and very friendly. We ordered a bottle of Red wine for the four of us. The appetizers were good and the pasta that I ordered was very tasty and very original Italian! One of the waiters chatted us up and said that he spent 10 years in Delaware near where we live (Washington DC) after asking us where we did! We had very nice dessert and wound up a very nice, relaxed dinner! Would be back definitely!

The food was ridiculous salty! We literally chugged two big jugs of water with our pizza and pasta. I really wanted to like this place - the staff was really welcoming and attentive, the restaurant is at a great location (it's about 15 minute walk from the British Museum, between Seven Dials and Covenant Garden) but the amount of salt they put on their food was unbelievable. Salt level aside, the pizza was well-made and the crust was soft and fluffy. The spianata salami was delicious. The Carbonara sauce tasted very different from the typical Carbonara you get from the U.S, so I'm not sure if this is supposed to be more authentic? I didn't love it. The calamari was a total miss - they put a good amount of fried dough with seaweed into the dish so you end up getting maybe 8-10 pieces of calamari for £9.95...I wouldn't recommends this place.

The best thing about this place was the friendliness of the welcome, both from the person on the door controlling numbers and our server who was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Food was good but there are better pizzas and pastas in London, main courses were priced reasonably for this part of London at around 13 pounds for a pizza or pasta dish. The starters and dessert were overpriced, the bread basket was not really a bread basket with a variety of breads, it was four slices from an ordinary baguette, no butter accompanied it, two of us were dining and we commented it was almost a pound a slice. The mixed olives were 3.75 from memory and were ok but I have had more flavorsome olives from the deli counter in Waitrose for example. Would I dine here again, I would if the person I was dining with either wanted to try it or was crazy about it but there are many other experiences to chose from in the area so I'd probably give one of those a try next time.

Not far from Covent Garden, Rosso Pomodoro advertises "authentic Neapolitan pizza", but it was not nearly as good as any pizza I have had in Naploli, and that has been many, and the prices were absurd. A two story building on a corner just down the road from the Seven Crosses, the place is large and dimly lit, making it a challenge to read the menu. We were seated in the much less frantic and noisy upstairs dining room where the pizzaiuolo (pizza maker) practices his craft. My wife had a Five Cheese pizza (£12.95/$16.50) with a whole grain crust and I ordered the Salsiccia e Friarielli (sausage and broccoli rabe - £13.95/$17.75) pizza, a Neapolitan specialty and my favorite. Having lived in Naples most of her life, my better half knows pizza napolitana as well or better than anyone and she enjoyed her pizza very much. Mine tasted OK, a bit bland, but the bottom of the pizza was far too thin and the topping much too runny, so my pizza became instantly soggy and unable to eat by hand. Even with a fork, it was a challenge to eat as the disintegrating pizza became harder and harder to control. WAY overpriced and VERY underwhelming, what more can you expect from a pizzeria in central London? I have had much better pizzas in Naples for 1/3 of the price. Food is excellent! Price is beyond reasonable! Great for lunch! Except for I felt bad for waitstaff there were only 2 of them and a crowd of ppl to serve! Had pasta lunch special with zucchini and tomatoes $6.99 I meannnnnnn! Great pizza too!

Cute spot for a dinner date, but keep in mind it gets packed and the tables/seats are close together. I ordered the Massesse pie (tomato sauce, mozzarella, spicey salami and basil) and it was 10/10. Simple yet packed with flavor and not too doughy.

Ran in to the spot in the midst of unbearable heat. So glad I did. It has very authentic and friendly atmosphere. A little island of Italy in the heart of London with a good AC and cold beer. Cause it's important when it's 38C (108F) outside :)). Food is very good. Bread especially to die for.

Perfect Neapolitan pizzas. We also did relish Gnocchi and Bruschetta. The drinks were good too, in taste and variety. Tiramisu though was average, or rather we had better expectations. The place can get real noisy both day and evening times. This one is situated at the most opputune location for theatre goers, and would be the recommended spot for pre-theatre dining.

Saw Rossopomodoro and it looked promising. Of course I check the yelp reviews and felt it was a good choice for an early dinner. Before heading back, I asked the concierge at my hotel for the best pizza in the area and without prompting, he also recommended it. OK, no turning back now, I'm in. The place is busy, (usually a good sign) at 3:30 I'm seated within minutes at the last table downstairs. I order the calamari. Calamari, shrimp, zucchini all lightly breaded and flavorful. The shrimp might be a bit overcooked its slightly tough, but I'm still enjoying all of it. The presentation and serving size is impressive. So far the service has been very good. The staff has been attentive, friendly, and yet very busy. The place his buzzing. Watching food come out of the kitchen, you can't help but notice the serving sizes are very generous. Maybe the calamari appetizer before the pizza is going to be too much. I'll soldier through. OK, pizza arrives and it looks great. Looks can be deceiving. It's good, but by no means great. I'm disappointed. The crust is chewy and flavorless. The sauce and cheese are bland and it's just mediocre at best. Not at all what I was expecting. Would I return here for another meal? No Would I recommend it to a friend? No Was it a good value for the money? No!

We happened upon this place after a day at the British Museum and a walk to Covent Garden. The aroma of homemade Italian food was too strong to keep walking past. Cozy tables and cute white Christmas lights filled the room with a fun vibe and friendly staff greeted us the moment we entered. It was tough to choose and the waiter gave us plenty of time to ensure we were happy with our selections. The kids both chose Margarita Pizzas. They were trying to get as close to a cheese pizza as possible and this was the only pizza that came close. My husband selected Carbonara Tartufata, which had pancetta, wild mushrooms and truffle patè and he loved it. I ordered two starter plates instead of one main. I started with Bruschetta served on char grilled home made bread and the freshest tomatoes and garlic and basil. The two large pieces of the bread were plenty. Then as my main dish I had Montanara Rustica which was two large balls of pizza dough, lightly fried to a puffy golden brown. Topped with a lightly spicy sauce with pancetta, onions and pecorino cheese. Never had this before, or heard of it, but it was delicious, satisfying and the perfect amount for one. We all left dinner tonight so pleased for having stumbled across this wonderful place.

I was walking in west end, with my yelp (iphone) searching with me for a place to eat in ... preferably clean and chain-less! and I found a few, but while I was walking toward one of the suggested places, I pump into Rossopomodoro, and I just said (ooooooh that's a hell of a name, it has 6 Os can you imagine :D). so I asked my little yelp and it was positive. While the restaurant is not (very) well located in the west end, it is quite accessible if you that it exist. It has a very wide windows that makes you feel welcomed. In the inside, the atmosphere is quite nice, waitress were neither pushy nor lazy, they were just right for me. I quite like them to be honest. I found the menu to confusing, and as a bad-menu-reader, I ordered a pizza and bowl of Salad (how boring), but I was so happy with meal, just so lovely. The pizza is perfect and salad was freshly made. So all in all the meal was great, and I was very content with the choice (thanks to the first reviewers). I took one start away, because the place does not have the wow-factor that some other places have. But I will go back to Rossopomodoro whenever I'm around again.

I've been to Naples and eaten pizza there for three straight days (Da Michele was my favorite). I thought Rossopomodoro came pretty close to recreating the deliciousness that is Naples pizza. While nothing can replicate the Naples authenticity exactly, the style here is very similar - the thickness of the crust, flavor of the sauce, and amount of choose used on each pie. The crust is delicious and they use just the right amount of sauce to compliment the cheese and flavors of the pizzas. Overall, service was great. They checked on us frequently and assured us that it was as authentic of a Naples experience as we were going to find in London. If it was truly a Naples experience, they would just drop the pizza on the table and let it speak for itself, but hey, we were in London. If you come here, stick with the classic margherita to get a true taste of what a Naples-style pizza should be like. It's the best way to test out a new spot.

I LOVE Rossopomodoro! It was recommended to me by an italian who said it was the only italian place she liked in London because it was authentic. Having gone twice now, I wholeheartedly agree with her, this place is a gem! Even if you didn't know anything about it, you could probably tell how good this place is by the atmosphere. This weekend it was busy and buzzing, families and friends of all ages trying to get seats here. We had to wait a little for a table so I recommend coming early if you can. It was the perfect place for a fun Saturday night with friends. The service is great, our italian waitress was very helpful:) I think I have to start backwards with the unanimous favourite of the night, the nutella tiramisu. This is maybe the best tiramisu of my entire life (ties with one I had in Florence). This was just delicious perfection. The food here is great too. The braciola beef stuffed with pecorino cheese, pinenuts and raisins stewed in a tomato sauce with roast potato was amaziiiing. Every mouthful was incredibly flavourful and I loved the tasty mince meat and the potatoes. I couldn't taste the raisins, which was great for me since I don't like them haha. Their tagliatella with mince meat and ragu is authentic and delicious comfort food. The margherita pizza was simple, good and made in true Napoli style. I especially loved the quality mozarella. This is now my favourite italian restaurant in London! So happy I found this place, I am sure I will be back here soon:)

Great food, excellent marketing. Their objective to make you feel like you are in Italy. They talk to you in Italian and the food tastes like in Napoli. Went on a Friday night busy but only 15 minutes to wait. They try to get tables to move quickly. I would not go their for a date but definitely great for a moment with friends and a catch up. It's not too expensive if you consider everything is homemade. I was advised to try the delicious ice cream but when I asked if it was home made they said no but coming from Italy. "Coming from Italy" is not a sign of quality but you could have said "it's an artisanal provider from Italy that ships it every week" it could have worked ;) + quality, atmosphere - noisy, staff trying all the tricks to make you leave as soon as you have finished

This place has the best authentic Italian pizzas I've ever had. I came here with a friend, who is a true Italian, born and raised is Napoli, Italia. We've checked out some other "Italian Pizzaria" around London and he was always a critic when it came to the pizzas. He said this place is true Italian. The servers are Italian, the cooks are Italian, and the best part is they cook the pizzas and calzones in a BRICK OVEN. My friend said, "if it's not cooked in a brick oven pizza, then it's not Italian." It made sense though, I could taste the difference when it wasn't baked in a brick oven. Most of the people that go there to eat are Italians. It's probably the only authentic Italian pizzaria in London (my friend made me believe that). I'd definitely come back to this place for some pizza anytime! The service was quick and nice. I wish they'd put some ice in my water though, but that's how Europe operates.

Delicious wood-oven pizza in a restaurant with an authentic italian feel. This was our second visit & both times we opted for pizza, while antipasti, salads & pasta are also offered on the menu. I had the Verduretta (vegetarian) pizza & it was full of flavour, ingredients were really fresh & tasty. Prices seem pretty average for London & the service was efficient both times.

I really enjoyed the decor of this place and the open kitchen concept downstairs. There's plenty of seating over two floors, and we were seated right away when we got here (after being told there was a 30 min wait Jamie's Italian and Dishoom nearby). I ordered the tonnetta, a tuna salate, which had seared medium-well done tuna, salad greens, boiled potatoes, crisp bread and grilled courgette. This was really good and exceeded my expectations for the price and location. The fish was very fresh and well done like I prefer. It was a good-sized portion and quite filling. I wasn't a fan of the dressing though, which I ordered on the side (lemon, mayo and garlic sauce). It came out to 12.95 pounds. My friend ordered the gnoccho, which was potato gnocchi drenched in a delicious tomato sauce and covered in shredded parmesan cheese. This was very flavorful and I would definitely order this again (9.95 pounds). Overall, I really enjoyed this experience and thought my meal was definitely worth the 13 pounds I paid. The food also came out quite quickly which we appreciated as we were quite famished!

Rossopomodoro Covent Garden is the only one of the chain I have visited, but so far so good. I work some days across the road from here and one evening we decided to buy in bulk our pizzas from here. Being across the road, we collected the pizzas and actually saw them being pulled out of the fire-stove-thing, put into boxes, and cut. They looked delicious! Whilst we waited we were offered seats and all the staff said hello and a couple made polite chit-chat; they were all really friendly :) The pizzas themselves were oddly lacking in the cheese department, but I think that's because we ordered those ones specifically (no idea why); they were wonderfully tasty and had that great authentic Italian flavour. I'd really like to go back and eat-in to try some other food there. Yummy!

This is hands down one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. We have a large party here - about 45 people. We were told that 7 pizzas can be made every 90 seconds, so a large party would not be an issue. I'm currently sitting at a table of 12 people and we received 3 small pizzas (4 slices per pie) about 20 minutes ago, and haven't seen a morsel of food from the kitchen since. The waiters & restaurant manager have all come over several times promising that food is coming - but has not arrived yet. The other 2 tables in our party keep getting served, but our table seems to be the black sheep of the group. One of our other party's tables felt bad for us & threw us a slice left over from their table - the 2 guys who split the slice said "if ash flavored pizza existed, this would be it." Another choice quote from our table: Waiter (for the 20th time): would you like more drinks? Table (collectively): No! Bring us food! Lastly, the place keeps bringing out 1 or 2 personal pies at a time, and regardless how many times we asked them to cut the pies into more slices instead of 4, they kept saying ok & not doing it. As a result, half of our table was constantly without food. Do not come here if you have more than 2 people - you will be left hungry and sad. Update: in 2 hours we received 7 small personal pizzas between 12 adults. Still waiting on the rest...

If you are near Neal's Yard on a Sunday night and all of the other restaurants are closing, you can stop into Rossopomodoro also. The restaurant looked clean and cute. I just wasn't that impressed with the food. The service was fast and friendly. This was a good restaurant for families. Most everyone ordered pizzas. I felt my margherita could have baked longer. The wine was alright and the brioche con gelato did not need a brioche. The restaurant was busy. Some customers had ordered take away pizzas. I didn't have many other options this evening. I would give this 3.5 if we could give half stars. Food was ok. I was a little bummed that pretty much everything was bread or pasta. All starters were a form of bruschetta. I lucked out because I ordered burrata and because I was allergic to accompanied vegetables waiter brought prosciutto which was a nice combination. I ordered prawns for my second course but the texture was kind of slimy so I didn't eat them. My partner had steak which he said was good, but it was quite rare and he likes medium. Kid said pizza was good. Which was the reason we ate here because she eats so few foods. Food quality fair, preparation fair, service was fair and a bit slow. Fine place to eat but definitely wouldn't go out of my way.

Very cute place and awesome services, we got the chicken salad and pasta with pea and ham, both are delicious and paired with couple glasses of white wine, I see a lot of other diners were ordering pizzas, I think that's what I will be getting next time when I come back and visit London!!!

After taking a stroll through the Christmas market outside of the Waterloo station, we were ready for some dinner. We decided to walk away from the river and see what we came across. After stopping in a couple of places, we realized that theatre crowd was in full force and we were going to have some issues with being seated. We were about to pass Rossopomodoro, but decided to check and see if they could accommodate us. Lucky us! They were able to... and we got a great spot by a window, which gave us a bit more room. This place clearly wanted to make use of all available space, so it was on the crowded side. Our waiter, Ladu, was sweet and though it took a bit to get the water we ordered, the service was good throughout our meal. 12.5 percent service is added, which would annoy me if I had a bad experience of service, but we definitely didn't. To start, we got a small bread selection. This came with 3 pieces of different breads: a piece of focaccia (it said it was garlic on the menu, and though I liked it, I didn't get the garlic from it), plain bread, and sun-dried tomato. They gave us a little basket with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a pepper grinder. The bread selection was good, but I would have loved if all three pieces were the sun-dried tomato. Talk about delicious! I want to buy a loaf! My husband and I are quite keen on ordering two mains and sharing, so we usually go down the menu and decide on the two things that look best to us. I was feeling the Gnocco... Gnocchi with a tomato/smoked mozzarella sauce. Chris was loving the idea of the Sfilatino. The menu described this as a folded pizza with tomato sauce, fresh burrata, aubergines, courgettes, peppers and parmesan cheese. It didn't sound super appealing, but he wanted it, so we got it. Boy was my assumption incorrect. I loved this! It comes out on a wooden tray... it's like a normal round pizza, but with two sides folded in on each other, so it looks a bit like a fish. The dough made this dish. It was light and delicious. The burrata was delicious and everything inside was amazing. This is one of my new favourite Italian dishes. The Gnocco was good, but plain and boring comparative to the Sfilatino. I know this is a chain, and I tend to enjoy smaller places better, but I will go back. Sfilatino for the whole table. Good quality Italian restaurant in Covent Garden / Seven Dials. Prices are alright, the same for drinks. It is quite big so it feels a little lost when you go outside of lunch / dinner hours. What really p****ed me off was the fact that I was just grabbing a quick (late) lunch and they added service to the bill automatically. I was there by myself. I don't think that is appropriate and it should be changed. This is the only reason, I can only give three stars.

2 for 1 cocktails are advertised on the website and upon ordering our waiter informed us that it is only 2-4-1 if only 1 person is drinking both cocktails. I decided not to bother but my girlfriend did order the 2-4-1. The waiter assumed I would try to 'sneak' the second cocktail. The whole of our visit he kept staring at me to see if I drank any and also made a snide remark to my girlfriend about how she should have staggered the cocktails. I of course asked for the service charge to be removed and he somehow looked shocked. Either the restaurant is guilty of at least a terrible policy - I'm sure a purchase cannot include instructions on what you are and aren't allowed to do with the item, or the waiter was full of bull. Either way it was a crappy and uncomfortable experience from start to finish. Worst bit is that the pizza was mediocre and already a bit cold.

Eating at restaurants focusing on a particular region of a familiar cuisine can be a strange experience. We're not in Italy, so why anyone would want to ignore the best dishes from an entire country and only sample the food from a specific area? That said, if you're going to specialise in regional food there's no excuse for getting it wrong, and the food at Rossopomodoro was pretty good. The (Polish) waitress even proudly informed us that the entire menu was Neapolitan and they receive their ingredients fresh from Naples twice a week. Some of the dishes had unusual descriptions, which meant when they arrived they didn't match what I was expecting, but that's more due to my lack of understanding of Neapolitan food. I just assumed that "paccheri with beef and tomatoes" would be a penne with a bologanise type sauce, and not just tubes of pasta drizzled in olive oil with beef slices and tomatoes thrown in! The service was good, and so was the red wine and bread selection, but it was a Sunday evening so the restaurant wasn't busy. My only criticism was that the pasta portions were on the smaller side, so if you prefer a larger serve, you'll definitely need three courses.

The gnocchi is so good and the desserts are AMAZIIINNGGG. This place is so underrated. Drinks are relatively cheap and food is amazing

I had the gluten free pizza .... I finally found a place that makes a pizza base that actually tastes like a REAL pizza and that tastes good (uhem unlike the other chain restaurants I have tried unsuccessfully). The toppings were beautiful e.g. tomato base was sharp and tangy, the mozzarella cheese quality was of a higher standard than the norm, the customer service was good e.g. the waitress was polite at all times. It is not a pretentious place of any sort, as I normally ask for drinks but today I was not in the mood e.g. I asked for tap water and ice, they offered a large jug and two glasses with ease. When I left my belly felt light and not overly heavy or uncomfortable NB: (I only tried the gluten free pizzas though, so I cannot comment on the normal ones). The only bad point was that there were no GF desserts : ((( but at least they were attentive and careful e.g. rather tell me no and down sell than say yes and perhaps I may get ill from my allergy. Price wise it is higher (when you cannot get the deal), but I think it is worth it for the quality you get and I was surprised as I never heard of this chain so thumbs up.

One of London's best naples style pizza (slightly smaller, slightly thicker) coming from a proper wood oven. Try the Verace for the top ingredients! DISHES Overall, all the dishes on the menu are good, from appetizers to pastas. However where I think it really shines is for the pizza: a perfect mix of quality ingredients prepared in a wood oven. I really love the texture and the taste of this kind of pizza, and the even higher quality ingredients used in the Verace make it even better. To drink I usually also take the Gazzosa Lurisia, that's another quality lemon-based drink quite rare to be found around. AMBIENT AND SERVICE The ambient is bright and comfortable, even if during peak hours it can be incredibly packed regardless of its two floors. For this reason I often go off-peak or in one of the other restaurants of the same chain (like the one near Old Street). The tables aren't big, but fortunately they are big enough to eat properly in comfort. The service is good and over three years I've seen it improving from quite unpolite to quite good. This is a almost high-end pizza chain directly from Italy, you can find exactly the same restaurants back there. All the ingredients are consistently the same and the quality is on-par. I have to add, this is also why I find funny the rare negative reviews here criticising dishes... that are basically identical to the ones people find and love in Italy (both for quantity, quality and preparation). With a few exceptions, they aren't adapted to the local tastes, that's it. Don't expect pizzas or salads with 5+ toppings, for example. And the pizza is naples style. Not rome style. Not chicago style. Not anywhere else style.

Carb-fearers, don't be enthused by the selection of salads and meat dishes that Rosso Pomodoro have to offer. I tried to be a good lil' dieter, sticking to a side salad to start and the chicken with roasted veg dish, and left the place still hungry. The chicken was paper thin and sat in a tiny pile (with one slice of courgette and one slice of roasted pepper) in the middle of a massive plate, with loads of balsamic glaze drizzled everywhere. I was ashamed, and totally envious of my fellow diners who had great heaping bowls of pasta and huge plates of bubbly-crusted pizza. Why oh why did I decide to be healthy at a proper Italian restaurant like this? So while I can't review the delicious looking cuisine that was being munched on to my right and left last night, I can tell you that the healthier options are..... lame. Great location though -- that is a big plus! And they happily seated 7 people without a booking on a Sunday night.

I hadn't realised that this was part of a chain of restaurants, but knowing this after the fact seems to make sense to me. It really did have that chain restaurant kind of feel to it. That probably sounds like a negative comment, but I actually enjoyed the food and the experience. I had crispy squid for a starter and tasty, filling calzone for my main. I had an affogato for dessert - but it probably would have been easier to consume if it were served in a cup/glass! The service was good, friendly and even a little cheeky. I suspect that everyone there was Italian - which possibly makes sense as it's an Italian restaurant!

Hrm. I don't know. I only had a salad at this place. 10 pounds and really minimal on ingredients. While it wasn't exactly remarkable, it wasn't too bad. I don't think I will be returning here though; it seems like every other Italian spot.

Ordered Uber eats from here - one meal didn't arrive, two were raw dough pizza totally inedible and the remaining two pastas were fine. Two out of my family of Five got to eat dinner - won't be back!

I've decided that in London, from now on I'll only ever eat the pizzas I make at home (not necessarily the best, but fun to make, pretty tasty and exactly how I want them to be), or at Rossopomodoro. I went there a few weeks ago and loved it. The best bit is, if you don't know what to choose, they have pizzas with two or three different sets of toppings (I think I had the Fru Fru). I'll definitely be going there again.

This place is a hop skip and jump from my work and as it is so convenient and as there is a dearth of good Italian trattorias locally i wanted to love it. So it's with some sadness and frustration I have to write that TWICE now it's been a massive disappointment. The service is hurried, brusque and indifferent. The food when it came was slop. I've had better pizza from Firezza (delivery, north London) but pizza is pizza...however, if you're going to be more than just a pizzeria then the other offerings need to be at least palatable. My A'Scamorza was just a grotesque lump of oily melted cheese in a plate bare but for a charred tomato and slimy mushrooms. I was starving hungry so I ate it but it repeated on me and I felt nauseus all afternoon. My dining partners O'Bocatino was gray looking, congealed and there was a spoonful on the plate. For a strapping lad that's just insulting. The bill when it came for two mains, a sparklng water and a small glass of wine was £34 including service. I was on a budget (week before pay day is always a killer), as was my friend who was on a flying visit from brazil where he recently moved, and this was just thievery as far as we were concerned. If unlike me, you're not tied to fitting in a friend from overseas, I'd save your tastebuds and pennies for Jamie Oliver's restaurant opening in Covent Garden in June 2010. Having looked at his menu the prices are far more resasonable, the menu more diverse but with all the favourites and you can be damn sure of better service. I'm sorry Rossopomodoro but you had a chance to redeem with a second visit and you failed miserably, you will not be seing my custom again.
