Röstin was a great find, our first experience of Icelandic cuisine. The plokkfiskur was really great. Making a gratin from fish is something I’d never thought of doing. The fish and chips looked good.

Understated cafe above a little local museum of old boats, engines and farm equipment (museum was closed, but the cafe entrance and windows look into it). Cafe had great food, wonderful memorabilia and incredible views. The falafel salad was delightful (watermelon, butter lettuce, tomatoes, sunflower seeds & sweet potato chips), and the fish & chips were classic. Perfect dinner spot if you are staying near the airport.

👨‍🍳The chef was amazing! Honestly the whole Iceland trip we mostly stuck to packed lunches and airbnb cooking, but coming here was TOTALLY worth it. My mom is still talking about the cod she had here (3 days later). I had the barbecue chicken which was also delicious and the best was their salad (with that amazing house dressing). YUM!

We arrived in Iceland today and are staying nearby. Like others who’ve reviewed we had a brilliant experience at the Röstin tonight. I had fish of the day (which was ling cod) and my wife had the falafel salad. Both were fresh and absolutely delish. It’s warm and cozy upstairs which was a welcome relief from the 40+mph wind outside!

My husband has the lamb chops and I had the fish of the day, which was cuck. It was delicious! The glaze on the fish and salad dressing was amazing. One guy was running the entire place from the tables to the register AND the kitchen! Definitely dont skip this place.

The food, service, and atmosphere is hearty, comforting, and well-rounded. I'm excited to visit again some day! The Plokkfishur hashed fish, lamb steak, and soup of the day (sweet potato soup) were insanely good. The apple pie was simply amazing, I especially highly recommend that desert!! The staff were kind and courteous, the service was lovely. The atmosphere is comforting and calm. I absolutely loved it here.

As foodie tourist we visited many places to immerse ourselves in local cuisine. From the second you arrive, the place is beautifully decorated, meet with a smile, and in my opinion the best tasting food that you can taste the passion and love in every bite. 15km from the airport, it is a must visit to start or end your vacation on a high.

**Röstin Restaurant - The Old Lighthouse Café** Tucked away by the scenic coastline, Röstin Restaurant - The Old Lighthouse Café offers a truly unforgettable dining experience. My recent visit left me both amazed and satisfied, especially with the Ling Fish of the day and their delectable fish soup. The Ling Fish was a standout — perfectly cooked with tender, flaky meat and an incredible balance of spices. Each bite offered something new, with a myriad of flavors dancing on the palate, combining local herbs and exotic seasonings in a way that felt truly unique. The fish soup, meanwhile, was a symphony of deep, rich seafood flavors, comforting yet light, and enhanced by an infusion of aromatic spices. It was the perfect start to an already fantastic meal. Beyond the food, the restaurant’s atmosphere was just as impressive. Set in a beautifully restored lighthouse, Röstin boasts stunning views of the ocean, making it the ideal backdrop for a relaxing meal. The character of the space is both rustic and refined, with maritime décor that adds to the charm without feeling overly themed. The warm, inviting ambiance made it a place where you could easily lose track of time while enjoying both the food and the scenery. Overall, Röstin Restaurant - The Old Lighthouse Café is a hidden gem. Whether you're a seafood lover or simply looking for a unique dining experience with incredible views, this is a place that should be on your list. Highly recommended!
