Visited this weekend with my husband and our dog. Lady on check in was lovely and friendly, gave us lots of information. ||We stayed one night in our tentbox and honestly had the best sleep we have had in a long time! Site was quiet and well spaced out between pitches.||Toilet facility was fab. So clean and we loved the separate cubicles. ||Our dog loved the walks and the location to explore the cairngorms is second to none. Just wished we had booked for longer! ||Please do note (and learn from our mistake!) that the walk into Aviemore is around 30/40 minutes… sometimes when you put in maps it seems to go from the cafe/activity centre further up. The walk is mostly on a cycle path so more than doable, but we just got caught out with a dinner reservation as we thought it was a more like a 15 minute walk! Its also downhill there but obviously all uphill back. Not a negative as we are happy to walk, but we did nearly get caught out by the ‘apple maps’ discrepancy.

This site is serene and absolutely immaculate. It was the final stop of our week trip in the Highlands and we definitely saved the best until last. Great walks right from the site, close to Aviemore (45 mins walk or 8 minute drive) for all your supplies and dining options. An on site shop would be the icing on the cake.

Rothiemurchus styles itself as a haven of peace and tranquility amongst the Ancient Caledonian Pines...which it is, until the adjacent Clay Pigeon Shooting facility starts up every day !||My dog is extremely sensitive to loud noises, bangs etc and we would never have stayed at the site had we known we would be subjected to the noise of repeated shotgun noise between mid morning and late afternoon. As it was, we had no choice but to vacate our van for the majority of the days we were there to escape the noise !||The site itself is quaint and quirky, with individual pitches, mostly in the trees, with first class toilet facilities at the back of the site. For those people that feel they must be connected to the modern world at all times, there's no wifi available and the phone signal was patchy at times.||In essence, if you don't have a nervous dog (or family member ! ) then Rothiemurchus is fine !

We stay here every time we come to the Cairngorm national park. It’s a beautiful, peaceful campsite with pitches nestled in the trees. Facilities are always clean. Walks you can start from the campsite and only a short drive to Aviemore and the rest of the Rothiemurchus attractions.

It’s a wooded site so tends to be a bit gloomy and lacking natural light due to tree cover. TV and internet signals a bit patchy.|Showers etc nice. The Old Logging path provides easy access to the town (30 min walk / 10 mins to cycle) or towards Loch Morlich. |It cost over £40 a night outwith the school hols which is steep for what you get. Tons of places in Aviemore to go off grid if you have a Moho - we will do that next time.

Great little camp site. We had a hard standing pitch suitable for an awning amongst the trees with a little stream running behind which was lovely. Pitch was flat and spacious. |Unisex individual bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Nice area for washing up

Nice campsite in a foresty area. Well maintained shower facilities. No option to charge your phone. No area to hide from/cook during bad weather. No picnic tables in tenting areas.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very clean showers and toilet area. Booking system is a bit outdated though ... but nevertheless we had a very good stay!
