I recently discovered Roti during the 4th of July visit to Seattle, a fairly new spot in the South Lake Union neighborhood, and I must say—it’s a solid addition to Seattle’s Indian dining scene. Our Order (for 2 people): Samosa Kale Chaat – A beautifully executed dish! A fusion twist on the traditional chaat with crispy samosas, kale, tangy chutneys, yogurt, and a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors. Definitely a must-try appetizer. Papadam (3 pcs) – Crisp and fresh, but the real standout was the green chutney served alongside—vibrant, zesty, and full of flavor. Gongura Paneer – Though it reminded me of Palak Paneer at first glance, the use of sorrel leaves (gongura) brought a unique, tangy twist to the classic dish. We ordered it medium spicy, and the flavor was just right—rich, slightly earthy, and absolutely delicious. Garlic Naan – Thick, soft, and buttery—the way I like it. Held up great with the curries. Roti – Surprisingly a standout! Crisp, well-roasted, and just perfect. Definitely worth ordering again. Steamed Rice – Served alongside the curry. Simple, well-cooked, and a good addition to round out the meal. We also asked for some green chilies on the side, which were happily provided. Ambiance: The place has an appealing and modern aesthetic with a stylish bar setup. It manages to strike a perfect balance between cozy and lively—great for a casual date night or catching up with friends. The lighting and vibe were on point, offering a warm and welcoming environment. Service & Presentation: The plating was elegant, and the serving crockery had a nice upscale touch. However, the textured plates made it a bit tricky to clean up curries, and I personally found the oversized cutlery a little awkward to use. Also, the table space felt a bit compact, especially with multiple dishes on it—but manageable. Portion Size: The portion sizes were just right for two people—not too little, not overwhelming. It felt thoughtfully portioned for a shared meal. Pricing: Given the upscale look, prime SLU location, and ambiance, I expected the place to be on the pricier side—but it was surprisingly reasonable. For the quality, plating, and setting, the pricing felt very fair and approachable. Special Mentions: Jain food options are available too—just make sure to inform them a few hours or a day in advance. We went during an off-peak hour, so it wasn’t crowded and the service was quick and attentive. Final Thoughts: Roti offers flavorful, well-prepared Indian food with a modern twist in a stylish setting. Minor adjustments in table space and cutlery would enhance the experience, but the taste and service are spot on. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Google
Vegetarian dishes here are overpriced considering the small portions. The falooda lacked flavor and the ingredients were not properly mixed, though the rasmalai was tasty. The malai kofta came with just three pieces, which felt insufficient. Overall an upscale dining place but would not recommend it for vegetarian food.

Returning to Roti Cousin for the second time felt less like dining out and more like revisiting a place that understands warmth, culture, and hospitality at its finest. Despite the restaurant being packed to the brim with guests , the team handled the busy flow with grace, patience, and impressive coordination. What made this visit even more special was the incredible service provided by a server named Chan. In the middle of such a high-paced environment, she remained calm, composed, and sincerely attentive. Her support and kindness didn’t go unnoticed )) she went out of her way to ensure we felt welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. It’s rare to find someone who balances professionalism and genuine human warmth so effortlessly🥺

Friendly staff and ambient interiors. The food was flavorful. The schezwan paneer sliders were spicy and delicious. The Malai Kofta was soft and smooth. The goat dum biriyani was scrumptious. They give attention to detail for every menu item.

Google
Wow. What an experience. Most of us got the Thali, which is 4 small portions of their popular dishes and each one was delicious. They were so kind and attentive, gave great food recommendations, 10/10 service. Great music in the restaurant and love the interior design for the restaurant. Will be recommending this place to everyone and anyone. Be prepared to be full when you leave!

Had lunch at Roti SLU and honestly, the butter chicken blew me away — super creamy, rich, and full of flavor. I also ordered the paneer naan and it was soft, cheesy, and so good with the curry. Everything was presented beautifully and the vibe of the place was really nice. Definitely coming back to try more dishes!

Google
So glad they were open Sunday when hotel restaurant was closed and most everywhere else was too. Loved my mango iced tea and chicken dish. Service staff was friendly and quick. Would go again.

Google
Service and Atmosphere is great Food tastes good and flavorful to me - I got a goat dish and there were probably 6 pieces of meat. The garlic naan taste good but not the best (not enough garlic for me). For $30 you can get one entree + Side so not too cheap and more suited for a gathering imo.

Yelp
We've been here a couple times now for dinner. The first time we were in the area and found it on Yelp. It looks unassuming from the outside and we weren't sure what to expect. The interior was a surprise, we loved the interiors. The first time we got Onion Bhaji, Tandoori Chicken, Karahi Chicken, Roti, and Lacchha Paratha. Tandoori Chicken, Roti and Lacchha Paratha were very good, Karahi Chicken was okay, Onion Bhaji had too much batter . This time we got Chicken Tikka, Murg Korma, Roti, and Lacchha Paratha. All our items were good.

Yelp
I cannot express how much I love this restaurant!! I am a local and live a few blocks away, my partner and I go here at least once a month. I'm a vegetarian and there are a ton of things to choose from, the staff is nice, the place is clean, it is not too loud. Fantastic. I recomend vegetable jal-frezi, methi paneer, and eggplant bharta

Yelp
I ordered Malai Kofta on Door Dash just now and this dish looks absolutely disgusting and like no malai kofta I have ever seen nor eaten in my life and doesn't even look like the picture on the menu. I have no idea what this is but I don't even want to eat it. I tried it and it's sweet. I feel I was cheated and misled and I want my money back.

Yelp
We got food takeout. Foods are well-packed. Although it was curry, no leak or anything. The foods tasted good! Both chicken and bean curry and the naan. We got to know this place through my Indian friends and this place is their to go!

Yelp
I feel like Roti has been here forever so I don't know why I waited so long to visit. Every thing we ordered was excellent and freshly prepared. Our server seemed genuinely interesting in how we enjoyed our meal. We had the Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, Lamb Boti Kebab, and the Kachumber Salad. Especially good were the lamb kabob and the creative Kachumber salad. The room wasn't too loud and it looked like they had a lot of to go orders.

Yelp
Not bad for some Indian food! I don't typically have Indian food too often so I can't compare it to many other places, but I did enjoy the food here. We had a large party and made a reservation ahead of time, but there were still many empty tables when we arrived. I got the chili chicken appetizer as well as the garlic naan. For an appetizer, the size was huge! The chicken was good, but it kind of just tasted like general tso's chicken to me. I loved the garlic naan, as it was nice and soft and the garlic bits were great. One part was a little undercooked and doughy though. I also tried a bit of the tandoori chicken which was served in a smoking pot. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, so would recommend that. I love the surrounding area here, so if you're nearby and wanting some Indian food, this will do the job.

Yelp
Just stopped in to grab takeout, but wow the atmosphere inside was amazing! Tempted to make a return trip for dine in. The food was very flavorful & good value. Just had a couple veggie curries but were happy with both! Naan was great too!
google avatar

Jonelle T.

Yelp
Catered Roti for a work event and it was very mediocre Indian food. Portion sizes were large, but the butter chicken was too sweet and the saag paneer lacked flavor/spices. Lots of rice and the naan and samosas were great!
google avatar

Wendi K.

Yelp
Ordered Doordash from here, so the below are the inflated Doordash prices: -Butter Chicken ($19.99): Rich, delicious sauce that soaked in the basmati rice perfectly. Love that rice is included. -Zaffrani Paneer Tikka ($16.99): The small portion of this one surprised me, it was essentially one skewer of paneer chunks. -Also got sides of plane naan and roti ($3.49 each) Food came in a timely fashion! We were too hungry to take pictures unfortunately :(

Yelp
My husband and I are visiting Seattle. Tonight we ate at Roti Cuisine of India. The food was delicious! We had to he vegetable fitters and Naan. We had the lamb which was perfect, Paneer and Peas were great. The Mango Lassi was delicious too! The service was very good and the presentation was beautiful. We highly recommend you give Roti a try!

Yelp
Came here before we catching a movie nearby. We'd just recently had some amazing Indian food at this place called Little India Express at the Tacoma train station, so we were dying to get some more good Indian food. On the outside this place isn't very impressive. It's a facade of black glass, so when you enter it's a surprise of how beautifully detailed the design of this place is. They didn't go halfway on the look of this place. We ordered the veggie samosas, the coconut curry, and the murg korma. A nice surpise was the Lachha Parantha. My sister remembered this bread from her Indian friend in the sixth grade who would bring it to school wrapped in foil and slathered with butter. It was so freaking good, so it was a nice surprise to find this at their restaurant. Everything is a bit spicy, even when you order it mild. I'm not a big fan of spiciness so I wasn't as crazy about the food as our previous experience at the other restaurant, but it was still pretty good and it was definitely a ton of food. I particularly liked the sauces served with the samosas.

Ankita P.

Yelp
I think this place is a bit too expensive. Their Ragda Patice and naans are good. I didn't like the paneer tikka masala it was way too sweet Good ambience though

Yelp
Review for takeout: Great food, spicy and strong flavors. Love the aloo naan and vindaloo, good cuts of lamb and big potato pieces.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing Indian food in Lower Queen Anne's! The vegetable samosas were huge and fried to perfection. The jammy tamarind sauce that came with the samosas was the best I've had, most places make it too runny. I truly enjoyed their butter chicken. I ordered medium spice and it was great. The chicken pieces are smaller bite-size pieces, which is different from most places but is honestly so much better. I also really enjoyed their garlic naan. I was able to eat half for dinner and save the rest for dinner the next day, which was a great amount for about $30! I highly recommend this spot and will be back for sure.
google avatar

Zina P.

Yelp
It's a cute place in Queen Anne. We thought we'd try it after passing by it multiple times before. The staff is kind and there's plenty of seating. We only tried malai kofta which wasn't really what we were expecting. Traditionally it's made with a tomato cashew based sauce. This one definitely had cashew but no tomatoes and it was very sweet. Not my favorite but will be back to try more options

Yelp
Roti is a decent option for Indian food in the Uptown neighborhood. They have all the dishes you'd expect to see at an Indian restaurant, i.e they have got the basics covered. I had the chili paneer and the butter chicken with garlic nan. I also had the Indian Chai. The servers were pretty friendly and offered a refill on it too. The also have some Indian wall art for decor inside. I'd give it closer to 3.5, overall an acceptable option if you are craving Indian in the area.
google avatar

Annie W.

Yelp
I got the tandoori chicken and it was delicious! My SO got the lamb Rogan and he loved it as well.
google avatar

Yelp
VERY CLEAN ESTABLISHMENT. Excellent service. Don't listen to the bad reviews because this place is fire. I have been to many Indian restaurants and this one tops them all. If you love life you'll love this restaurant. If you love bland food you will not like this place. 10/10

Yelp
Cockroach!!! I'm just sitting near the entrance waiting for a pickup order that I placed, when I notice a cockroach walking across the floor! I was shocked and quickly stepped on it cause I didn't want it to crawl on me! I told an older gentleman who works there and he acted as though I didn't say anything shocking and kicked the roach carcass into a corner. Horrified I'd left. Now I'm scared to eat this overpriced Indian food. Only God knows what crawlies are hanging out in the kitchen....
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
I walked here after checking out the skyline at Kerry Park. Servers were kind and checked up on me often! The butter chicken has a distinct tomato taste - I usually prefer mine creamy and sweet but it could be good if that's what you like!! The naan was good but a little too rich!
google avatar

Eileen W.

Yelp
3.75/5 We came here after an event at Seattle Center and the food is good. The service was really fast and our appetizers and entrees came out really quickly and all were hot and fresh! The entrees all come with rice which was appreciated and the naan was really soft and fragrant. I'd say the food was pretty standard, solid Indian food compared to other places I've been in Seattle. I really liked the paneer kulcha and for the table, the chili chicken, lamb rogan Josh, and samosa chaat were big hits.

Yelp
A complete and utter dud. I don't even feel guilty saying that, considering that my best friend who orders from there often even admitted it wasn't their best. You only have one chance to make a first impression and Roti Cuisine of India blew it. My best friend ordered chicken tikka masala. The mild version. Why? Because supposedly it's flavorful and more spiced than it typically would be. He accompanied the former with garlic naan and paneer biryani. The garlic naan was decent, the paneer biryani admittedly isn't my preferred dish, but I gave it a try. For whatever reason, my best friend thought it would be a good idea to mix the paneer biryani with the chicken tikka masala. Apparently he's done this before and it's turned out fine, but this was just a disaster. The two dishes don't pair well together. Too much sauce and not enough cheese. He had some basmati rice from earlier in the week for the chicken tikka masala. You'd think this would be able to improve the dish but not really. The chicken tikka masala was bland and it was more tomato sauce than anything. I really don't know what he saw in this place. Apparently he gets food from this restaurant delivered through Uber Eats all the time. On this particular occasion, though, to say the food was subpar is putting it mildly. I could not eat it. Well, minus the garlic naan. That really is the only reason this gets two stars. You're better off passing on this one. Seriously.

Yelp
The food was soooo good. I don't think you could go wrong with ordering anything on the menu. Will be back and already recommended to friends.
google avatar

Yelp
Got the madras with chicken, saag paneer, and garlic naan. *Huge* portions for the mains and super tasty. Manageable spicy level... fast service, everything was amazing. Would absolutely come back to try some more of the stuff I haven't had before!
google avatar

Yelp
It was a horrible experience, made a mistake and will never order it from Roti cuisine again. Everything that we ordered from here was stale, bad taste, dry, bad cooking and very raw; seems like no one is responsible here for quality and quantity. Malai kofta- very bad taste, stale, koftas were too hard, they don't know what's malai kofta, and bad tasting 3 kofta pieces for $14 , it's a overpriced loot. Garlic naan- very dry and hard, no taste at all, seems like cooked previous day stored in freezer and then reheated before sending it. Chili paneer - again no preparation at all, seems to have been stale, it was very tangy and watery, chili paneer is supposed to be dry. Will never order from here again.
google avatar

Disha G.

Yelp
I ordered the food from doordash one evening and this is what they served. It was cold and stale. The worst part was that 2 naans looked like some sort of thrown away food. And it was only half of the ordered quantity. They appeared in the same condition as in photo. It was disappointing. The fish was oily and the paneer was very chewy.
google avatar

Alex N.

Yelp
Good butter chicken wide a side of rice. Wish they had a cheaper combo with naan. Anyways the chicken was good, not dry and definitely flavorful. Good spice level as well.
google avatar

Gabrielle B.

Yelp
If you're looking for fantastic Indian cuisine with great service, you'll find it at Roti. I ordered my favorite Indian dish: aloo mater and I was blown away. The potatoes were perfectly tender amongst the medley of pees and spices. The sauce had the perfect viscosity and wasn't too soupy like some versions I've tried. I ordered the medium heat and the spice level was true to the numeric scale. Like many dishes, mine came with basmati rice on the side that was cooked to perfection. I tried both the regular naan and the garlic naan breads and both were spectacular. The garlic naan bread is very garlicky which is perfect for garlic lovers, but if you're looking for something more subtle, the regular naan is the better option. Our server was a nice man named Sam who was very friendly and made great recommendations for our table. He didn't check on us throughout the meal, but he was nearby if we had needed something. The ambiance in the restaurant was very nice. There were a variety of beautiful photos and paintings throughout the restaurant and suspenseful music playing softly in the background. There was no wait time and not too many people dinning in, but crowds of people were coming in to pick up to go orders so obviously this place is a local favorite! I've heard the chicken tiki masala is one of their best dishes. Next time I'm in Seattle, I'll be back for more delicious Indian cuisine!
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
Fantastic Chicken Tikka Masala, paneer and roti!. Portion wise, you wouldnt think the curry and the rice is all that much food when you look at it. The curry is extremely rich, buttery, and satiating, almost to a point of wanting more rice and bread to spread it out with. The portion is adequate once you realize how rich in flavor the curry is. I have also had a paaneer stir fry dish, where its paneer cubes stir fried with vegatables in a sauce. It very much is like Orange chicken (Chinese) but with paneer instead. A very surprising, yet delicious, find. I'm not well versed in Indian food by any means, but I throughly enjoyed the food from here. Really, really delicious.

Charlotte C.

Yelp
Food was delish and decor was cool. We went before a concert and it was busy but we got our food fast. Service isn't overly friendly but it's fine as long as the food is good. Love the Dal, Aloo Gobi, Chai and Naan.
google avatar

Khalif E.

Yelp
The food was delicious and place is so cute and wholesome. Great date night place with affordable options! Recommend getting the tikka if you're a basic kind of person, otherwise if you're feeling adventurous ask the wait staff for recommendations!
google avatar

Jordan F.

Yelp
Tonight we ordered brilliantly, the perfect blend of four dishes: lamb saag, aloo gobi, eggplant bharta, and mango chicken. And of course some buttered naan. Everything was so flavorful, no two dishes at all alike. Even the tamarind and coriander chutneys are perfect. WE LOVE ROTI!
google avatar

Chad M.

Yelp
Great food and a the staff makes the dining experience awesome. Our server was a witty and friendly young man named Shreddan, who made great recommendations and was always attentive. Order take out if you want great Indian food at home, but if you get the chance...dine in the restaurant for a great experience!
google avatar

Mandy W.

Yelp
The food was average, nothing to really rave about but the service was below average. Therefore the 3 stars is pretty reasonable. I only came here because of how close I was when I wanted dinner but maybe should of went next door or something. I walked in and asked if I can order take out. The man working there just stood there, thought about it for a moment and then said the girl at the counter could help me. It was not a language barrier or anything for the pause; he spoke English fine. The reason I know this is because when I got my food I looked in the bag and noticed there wasn't any utensils. It was take out so I asked if I can have a set of utensils. The man looked at me again, grumbled something under his breath and walked to the back to grab me some. He just threw it in my bag and didn't even hand it to me nicely. It wasn't even busy that day so I'm not sure why he was in such a mood to provide such poor service. Like I said, the food was okay. But if you look at their health rating you can see they've failed the inspection a few times. I did have a little upset stomach after but nothing crazy. It's just something to note. Overall, the average food, poor service and failed health inspection means I won't be returning. It's a shame since Indian food has always been a favorite of mine and close to the area I'm staying. Will look for another dinner spot next time!

Alec S.

Yelp
Very nice folks - pleasant and attentive. We loved our dishes - we had mango lassi, garlic naan, veg samosas, lamb Rogan Josh, chicken tikka masala, and tandoori chicken. The servings were large. The decor was charming. We'd definitely go back.
google avatar

L A.

Yelp
I order from Roti a lot for delivery. Their food is very consistent, which is hard to find with Indian in this city (in my experience). Some dishes are better than others--I'm not a fan of their Saag, but recommend the curries and things of that nature. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed

Tavon C.

Yelp
I ordered lamb biryani. When I got home it was just eggs and rice. No lamb. Waste of $20

Brittanie H.

Yelp
VERY happy. the team were so fast, very friendly and the food was so beautiful! the best Indian I have ever had.
google avatar

Ella A.

Yelp
don't order food delivery from here if you're hungry. i pick up the deliveries only if the tip is decent because the wait time for the food is 20+ minutes even when their dining room is empty.

Yelp
After years of riding past Roti while on the bus to downtown, we finally stopped by before a Kraken game. THE FOOD IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR. One of the better Indian restaurants we've been to in the Seattle area. I got my standard Bhindi Masala and the medium-high spice was exactly on point and played so well with a thick paste and well-cooked okra. The serving size was huge and I ate nearly all of it. My partner ordered the Dum Murgh and was very impressed. He usually opts for rice dishes and was happy to be rewarded for branching out into a curry. We also got garlic naan which was much doughier than I've ever seen. I adore doughy breads, though my husband was put off by it. THE WATER GLASSES MAKE THE AMBIENCE. Walking in, there is a beautiful wooden lattice work type structure on the walls with lovely murals incorporated. It's lovely to look at. The servers were attentive and kind and it was just enjoyable to dine in. Plus, the water glasses on the table were a beautiful shape with a bronze/tin look. We had a matching carafe of water left on the table for us. It was lovely. Those small touches with the already nice décor deserve a little shout out here. A NOTE ON POOR REVIEWS. I was hesitant to eat here after seeing some negative reviews. It looks like maybe there was a change in ownership a year ago that impacted some people's prior experiences. I also noticed a lot of carry out going on. My experience represents eating in the restaurant. Personally, I never carry out Indian food (especially if getting naan) because it just isn't as good when sitting in a container rather than presented fresh from the kitchen. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and I recommend you, whoever you are, eat here too.

David Y.

Yelp
Prompt service, very personable waitstaff, and great food! Had the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and gulab jamun at the recommendation of Raj and loved it!
google avatar

Tina T.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and good food. We ordered Achari Prawns, Chicken Tikka Masala, Buttered Chicken, Mango Chicken, Rosemary nann, garlic nann and buttered nann. Everything was very good. We would definitely come back when we're in town.
google avatar

Mary H.

Yelp
Best of the best!!! The Better Chicken & Veggie Samosas, were hands down the best I've ever had! Staffs were friendly and attentive. The place was beautifully decorated. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Rushi P.

Yelp
If you are a Butter Chicken fan then don't even think of ordering from this place. I have tried butter chicken from several states in USA so far in search of finding the authentic one. This one hands down comes at the bottom of the list. Chicken was Raw and stale and the gravy was not even close to cooked but just tomato paste. The Nans were really good though and the complimentary rice portion was also very good. However if your main dish is so horrible what will you do with good sides.
google avatar

Maggie A.

Yelp
There was a freaking cockroach in our curry. If we get sick this doesn't end at a Yelp review. I'm actually going to report this to the city. Do not eat here. I'm lucky I saw this before taking ANOTHER bite. I feel like throwing up. To be clear 0 stars
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
We ordered this as takeout so I can't speak on the ambiance too much but the food was yummy. The reason I give it a 4 is my husband ordered the butter chicken and it was very sweet which isn't what we are used to. This could definitely be preference so I'd still go and just not get that. We also had the malai balls which weren't exactly balls but very tasty and the gravy in it was spectacular! So creamy and velvety. The garlic naan was also delicious!

Yelp
Roti is a American-style Indian food restaurant in lower Queen Anne. It has been recently refurbished and has a new menu and food. For a long time there were two Indian Places in lower Queen Anne. We tried both and found Chutney's to be great and Roti to be not at all good - dark, lower food quality, worse service. We have been avoiding it for many years and I never even wrote a yelp review. But Chutney's has been closed for several years (moving to be Zaika on the edge of downtown), and so the Indian choice near the Seattle Centre theatre district is Roti. So we decided to give it another go. It seems that new owners have addressed all the negatives and turned Roti into a great place to eat. The redesigned space is well-lit and attractive. The improved menu has a few new things but is largely the usual Indian fare for this area. But most importantly the food quality has improved a lot. We went one evening before theatre. The group of four all enjoyed their varied foods. I especially liked the Onion Bhaji's and my Tandoori Chicken was great (and very large). My wife's butter chicken was also superb, and also a great dip for my garlic naan. Service was prompt and helpful, and food arrived quickly and easily in time for our theatre. Overall, this was a very strong experience and we will definitely be going back and also getting delivery from Roti. Very excited to see this neighbourhood place improve so much.

Sonny R.

Yelp
The area where the restaurant is located at the junction of Queen Anne Ave N and W Mercer is kind of rundown. The interior is artsy with beautiful paneling and paintings from India. Service is prompt. We ordered Bharwan Aloo Tikki (potato patties), fish masala, bhindi (okra) masala, onion kulcha, and roti. The patties were ok, but the fish and bhindi were mediocre. The bread was good. If I were rating only the food, I'd give it only two stars, but gave it higher because of the interior and prompt service. It's not a restaurant we would go to again.

Yelp
I stopped in since I'm a curry fanatic and the restaurant is less than a block from the MarQueen Hotel, where I was staying. I'm glad I dined in as the service was impeccable and FAST. Shreddan was my server/consultant and, even as people starting coming in (this place does TONS of takeout), if I looked toward the kitchen, someone was there soon enough. I LOVE creamy curry and the Murg Korma w/ chicken was PERFECT. They nailed the spice level and the taste was divine. Perfect portions of rice/curry and the garlic naan was straight out of the oven and dipped perfectly in the korma. This is one place I will DEFINITELY revisit during my Seattle travels.
