"With its spiraling facade, this tower essentially looks like a giant drill bit poking above the trees. Its purpose? To test new elevator technologies. In 2014, ThyssenKrupp, a German manufacturer of high-speed elevators and lifts, began building this roughly 800-foot-tall tower. Its lift uses magnetic levitation to pull its ropeless elevators both horizontally and vertically, letting them move with the apparent floating ease of the famous glass elevator in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But there’s a bonus, too. The tower also boasts an observation deck about 760 feet above the ground. It’s the highest visitor platform in Germany, and offers sweeping views of both the town and the countryside. The behemoth tower, which opened to the public in October of 2017, is a strikingly modern addition to the Rottweil skyline, a small old town on the edge of the famous Black Forest. The picturesque town agreed to the construction of the tower under the condition that it had to add some sort a touristic appeal, which led to the creation of the visitor platform." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

Quite large and interesting tower. Large structure with a beautiful view, it could help if there was a coffee shop or similar at the top but there's only the view. Recommended if you are nearby

Impresive test tower which doubles as attraction as you can for some admission ride with fast elevatro to the viewing platform (almost) at the very top. The view is stunning, the glass walls ale cool and we really enjoyed it. Absolutely recommend it (and it is also interesting as building as it has some nice features)

An interesting place to visit. We have passed the tower many times driving by, but this time we stopped. Driving off the Autobahn, going up and back to the road takes around an hour. Nothing special about it, except the lift technology, from 200+m above, there is a nice view. 4 stars for the expensive ticket price.

Parking lot. Quick access to the top. No wait time for the cabin to be full. Panorama elevator. Fair price. Good views.

Absolutely stunning and fascinating place!!! Even a bit scary when the elevator accelerates 😅 But it was very rewarding and just fantastic to see the area around and even the Apls. Must visit!

The tower was very impressive. We were hesitant to go up first as the weather was quite unsteady, D decided to go anyway. Best decision! We didn't have to wait at the entrance and got our tickets there. The staff was really friendly and during the 30 second ride with the elevator up to 232 meters we were told a few interesting facts while watching the ground sink lower and lower through the window placed at once side. Due to the weather conditions there were only four other people up there, which was really great. As we left there came a couple groups with at least 30-40 people - I imagine it to be exhausting, if you had to fight for a look at the scenery. On top there is a nearly 360 degree view all around the tower. We couldn't see the alps, but the Burg Hohenzollern, Rottweil, a couple of villages around and the lovely fields and hills. It was stunning. Also you get a flyer with a map to make it easier to spot the places you can see from the top. The glass wall around the edge is very high. I am not afraid of heights anyway, but it felt very safe. Back inside there is a giant screen, explaining a few technical details of how the tower was built and the different elevators tested there, which was way more interesting than I expected it to be ;) the ride back down was just as short and had the funny feeling of a roller coaster the first couple of seconds due to the speed you go down. Leaving your bag at the foyer is free. Definitely recommended! Also: if you visit Rottweil: Just walk to the tower :) it is a lovely stroll about 30 min, or, if you want to extend it, you can also walk over the fields and get a few beautiful views of Rottweil.

Outstanding place, at over 850m, to have an overview of the environment. The Lift is going with cca. 30km/h up and down, so the sensation is breathtaking.
