Rouge on Rose was a wonderful place to stay in Cape Town. The people are extraordinarily friendly and helpful. The location is great - right near the colorful Bo-Kaap neighborhood - and a very short walk (3 to 10 minutes) to so many interesting and different restaurants. Breakfasts were wonderful. The room was large and comfortable. Should we be back in Cape Town we would definitely stay there again.

My partner and I stayed here for a few nights in April 2025. It was a fantastic stay. Manager was extremely welcoming. Rooms are comfortable and large, hotel is centrally located in downtown Capetown, which made it extremely convenient to get everywhere. Delicious breakfast was served daily. Recommended

I am so glad we found this gem of a hotel! From the moment we walked in, Chris treated us like family. He went over all the basic tips, restaurants, safety, tour offerings and so on. Our room was on the top floor and had lovely views of the Bo Kaap houses, and Table mountain in the distance. We even had a little balcony! |When we walked in to the room we were astonished at the space, views, and amenities. It was so lovely! ||The breakfast offerings at this hotel are wonderful. There are options for everyone to choose from. I want to add that the servers work so hard, and their efforts did not go unnoticed either. ||The area in general felt safe to us, but in saying that we still chose to take Ubers to the Waterfront. The first day we got there we decided to walk there, and I wouldn’t recommend it, mostly because (though nothing bad happened) we did feel we had to be extra alert and vigilant. We did see a police and security presence everywhere, but that’s just what we saw throughout Cape Town. Ubers are cheap, and the drivers we met were all wonderful! ||Personally we wanted to experience a different part of Cape Town, and that’s what Bo Kaap is! ||I’m glad we stayed here, and wouldn’t change a thing! Top notch, great value, excellent food, very clean, and wonderful people!

A very well located family run hotel. Perfectly positioned to enjoy the restaurants and bars of the city centre. Also walkable to the waterfront. ||The room was well equipped and stylish with a large bathroom with a separate shower and freestanding bath. ||Breakfast was made fresh to order and was a great start to the day. All of the staff were friendly and helpful - particularly Michel the owner who was there most days. ||Highly recommended

My stay at the Rouge on Rose Boutique Hotel in Cape Town meet my expectations. The hotel is cozy and clean. I had a kitchenette and everything worked like it should. The bathroom was clean and the water pressure in the shower was good. The location is good, it’s within walking distance to local restaurants and cafe’s. The host are very nice with helping you with whatever you need. The breakfast is good. There is a chef there to prepare your meal to your liking from what’s provided off of the menu.|I highly recommend |Rouge on Rose Boutique Hotel in Cape Town.

Lovely, family-run place in a good location near bars, restaurants… even a hotel nearby with a sky-bar. I loved the room, which was stylish, bright, not over-stated, easy to live in. We had a smart TV too. There were plenty of tasty breakfast options. Service was great and Michelle was so friendly and helpful. We felt safe and secure.

This is a great little gem if you can book it. You are treated like family right from the get go. Both Michel and Chris really take care and are generous with their time and valuable advice. Walkable to Long Street for gift shopping. Lots of nice restaurants nearby. Would stay here if I went to Cape Town.

We loved this hotel. Let me start by saying if you cannot ambulate stairs you need to stay elsewhere. Secure hotel with beautiful rooms. Chris was wonderful upon arrival at this hotel. He is a jokester though. We arrived early and our room was available. The room was beautiful and oh that tub. There was also a walk in shower. We were on the top floor, which was the 3rd there but it would be considered the 4th if you live in the US. They do have someone who can take tour bags up for you. Breakfast is available. Convenient location. Michael had great tips on restaurants and things to do. Breakfast staff was nice. Hotel is secure. Safe and coffee/tea in the room. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place. I don’t want to stay anywhere else if I am ever in Cape Town again. Can be a bit noisy outside. It is in the BoKaap area. There is also the call to prayer during the day from the mosques in the area. Loved the hotel and the staff.
