I wish everyone traveling to Ireland the chance to stay at Roundwood House. Everything is wonderful: the service, the food, the kindness of Hannah, and Paddy’s cooking — words can’t describe it. We spent two days there with a literary group of 13 people and had a fantastic time. We were even lucky enough to have Paddy sing and play the guitar for us! Without a doubt, we’ll be back. A million thanks to the whole family.

Just splendid! The reset and rest we needed after intense days at Dublin. This guest house is a gem. The ambiance and calm energy combine with amazing food and great service it was a highlight on our Dublin trip. Hanna , Paddy , Lucy all the staff , cookers, every person we encountered were lovely , kind and sharing. Rooms are from storytelling so beautiful and modern. No lift but don’t worry’s about that, just go, enjoy the countryside , the food, the singing, the many books you can read and recharge !

We booked out Roundwood House for a family gathering (80yrs+ - 2yrs+). Hannah and all the staff offered a masterclass in hospitality at its best. A gracious host, everything was managed exactly as you'd want it to be. The food was spectacular. The house and library are so charming. This was a fantastic venue and I'd highly recommend if you wanted an intimate affair where you're made to feel instantanly at ease and like a home from home, but where you're spoiled!. Thanks Hannah, Paddy & staff.

We loved our stay in this beautiful Georgian country house! From the minute we turned into the driveway, we were in raptures, as the house is filled with character, style and history. You have to eat dinner here; please don’t even think about going anywhere else! Wander around the property, spend time in the library, and say hello to the ducks; it’s all perfect. And breakfast couldn’t be better.|Hannah was a wonderful host and gave us some great suggestions for places to visit on our ongoing journey.|Five stars all round ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We spent a fantastic night here recently. Hana and the team were so attentive and friendly. The house is amazing and so authentic and homely. From the minute you drive down the driveway you feel you are in a special place. Our dinner meal was amazing with every course being of the highest quality. Breakfast was fantastic and although the weather wasn't ideal we had a short stroll around the grounds. Couldn't recommend Roundhouse highly enough...one of Ireland’s hidden gems.

Round wood House is the perfect antidote to modern hotels, with their clean bright tiles and open spaces. It’s the essence of a perfect location, beautiful setting, excellent hosts and wonderful elegance.|A group of 12 enjoyed a perfect overnight stay here with ducks, hens and dogs in the grounds to greet us. |The wonderful bedrooms were filled with interesting pieces of furniture. The sitting room was ideal for our group.. big, comfy couches, plenty of tables for afternoon tea and big fires glowing all day. A reading room, with toys and jig saws available also. |Hannah was a perfect host, warm, welcoming, available but never intrusive. Paddy the chef produces the best meal I ever tasted. |The grounds are lovely to explore and DON’T miss the library.

Warm and friendly - both the house and the hosts!!! A gorgeous afternoon tea and homemade flapjacks on arrival set the tone for a wonderful stay. Hannah was so friendly and made time to chat. The evening meal was out of this world and the same can be said for breakfast.

My wife and I always look for somewhere different, which, to us, must be both appealing and tranquil. Roundwood house was just that. An 18th-century Irish manor house, eloquently brought back to life over the years, which gave us the peace and relaxation we were looking for. Hannah and Paddy are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to make you feel at home. Hannah provided us with plenty of local knowledge in regards places to visit, including great walks in the nearby Slieve Bloom mountains and, in particular, Glenbarrow. Paddy is not only an amazing cook but a talented musician too. On our second night to celebrate my wife's birthday, he serenaded her with a happy birthday rendition followed by a tune or two from well-known 80s bands. It truly made our experience very bespoke and special. The food is divine, our meal was succulent duck to start with, followed by an amazing lamb dish. There is an extensive wine list, and please try the local Ballykillcavan IPA ale, which is brewed locally. Credit also goes to our two servers, Lucy and Martyna, who were very attentive and kept the fire lite beside us. Each morning, you are served a delicious breakfast. The rooms are a throwback to yesteryear steeped in history with plenty of reading material. Speaking of books, visit their library too, well worth a visit with an eclectic mix of history, fact, and fiction. There is plenty to see on the grounds off the estate, too. Roundwood also serves as a great base if you want to explore around County Portlaosie. I recommend the heritage town of Abbeyleix, which is only around a 15 min drive away. We were made feel so welcome by Hannah, Paddy, and all the staff, and we can not wait to return. If you want to relax, read a book, enjoy a delicious meal by a glowing fire, and retire with a gin or whatever takes your fancy, we couldn't recommend Roundwood house enough. It truly is one of Ireland's hidden gems and it is even more inviting with the warmth of the Manor's hosts, Hannah and Paddy, along with the staff, dogs, and the ducks. We so look forward to returning. Regards Richard and Fiona (Killiney, Dublin)

Yelp
We stayed here for a weekend just recently and loved it. Fabulous Georgian house and Paddy and Hannah were fabulous hosts. The food was excellent, wine selection small but good, service was excellent, rooms were clean and nice. Paddy was so kind as to drive us out to the pub for some trad on Saturday night and we had a really late night. All in all really enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back.
