Clean and much to offer...very comfortable environment and employees are friendly and very helpful...sounds kinda scripted but I had asked a question to someone in produce about crab salad and she was all about helping me find just the right one...wasn't even her department!!!...lol... We just recently moved to Alabama and are still getting used to all the different grocery stores...really impressed with Rouses...

Good deli section, husband loves it. Great beer and wine selection. I like the salad bar, it’s $8.99 per pound. Lots of variety. The bakery is awesome, too. There are always fresh flowers for sale at decent prices.

Normally I stop in Hammond and stock up. I was a little apprehensive about going to one in Mobile but I got everything I was looking for, tasso, pork and green onion sausage, boudin. Very nice

I go there every week to purchase flowers for my sons grave the florist is so special and kind she always gets me right and they have the best and freshness collection of flowers. I love it!

Ok yall im back,... I stopped by Rouses Market on old shell yesterday....it was a pleasant experience....the fresh smell when I hit the door was welcoming...if ever I visit a store and I can smell the meat market from the front door🤔 its not a good sign makes me feel like the entire store is not clean. Friendly people working at this location, keep up the good work

This is a good grocery store. They have such very good fresh fruits and vegetables in their produce section. They also have good fresh cooked food to go. I really like their egg rolls, chicken and seafood. The store seems clean and we'll organized and they have nice staff.

They have very good seafood .I love the selection of their meat products so much to shop with at any budget.

I love coming here even if it is a few miles from me. The deli, bakery, & salad bar is one of the best for supermarkets in this area. There are always affordable fresh flowers available to purchase and houseplants. Good gift ideas. The produce is always great. Shop the adds, there are weekly specials. I see a lot of people but wine here, a big selection. I have only purchased meat here a few times, it's pretty good. I used to get a lot of good stuff on clearance. The shopping center it is in is great for buying other things as well, clothing boutiques for women and children, bakeries, a five and dime store. Plenty of free parking in a private lot. Staff ate wonderful and friendly. I always find what I am looking for. It is in a good, safe, affluent area surrounded by stately homes, local businesses, churches, and private schools. Spring Hill College is directly across Old Shell Road. A good place to buy groceries.

When I have a taste for home style fried chicken Rouses is where I go. Their fried chicken is delicious and tasty, seasoned to near perfection and not too salty. The service is always friendly. This is one of the few grocery stores I frequent as I patronized this store when it was Delchamps. The atmosphere in this store is always welcoming. I will add pictures of my next order of the fried chicken, along with their fresh salad from the Salad Bar.

The store is very clean and inviting. I always get more than I needed because the displays draw you in. The hot bar has a variety of food on it. Great for a quick lunch!

Nice employees plus sushi chefs and beautiful flowers. Nice assortment of flowers and the poke bowl is yummy.

Friendly staff! We opted for Red Velvet cake and it was deliciously rich. It had 7 layers and the frosting layers in between are light and fluffy!

been shopping this Rouses since it opened several years ago. quality of fresh food is no where it was. Went today at 10 ;00am. only 2 check outs out of 10 were open. Waited in a long line b/4 giving up. Put my meats back in cooler and left. Went to Publix. Doubt I'll return to Rouses any time soon. One positive is they have great employees working for them.

Disappointed in the quality of food on 3/18/23 at the Rousse Grocery on Schillinger maybe another time it may be better

This place has assume selection , low prices and a unbelievable selection of Wines. Château Lafitte Rothschild We got that ! a Pinot noir ? Close to 100'to choose from . Bob L Yelp it !

There are few words to express how much I love grocery shopping at a Louisiana based grocery store. They have a great selection of sauces, seasonings and frozen goods straight outta Cajun country. The pastries and dips are delicious, as is the food served on the buffets. This is the only grocery chain in the area, that I'm aware of, that sells locally caught gulf coast seafood. Their beer and wine selection are top notch as well. The employees are friendly and they always have plenty of registers open. The prices are on par with other grocery stores in the area.

$5 very disappointed, I love Rouses mainly because they sell gulf coast local fresh food. I hate to compare stores;but I eat from the hot food deli all the time in New Orleans the food is never is frozen. I assume every store cooked their food the same way. The food looked good but taste awful. No taste or season.

Why am I writing this review right now? Because the lady closed down the lane I was in after I go in it, and told me to go to another register. The light was on and They told me to move to a lane that had people with a bunch of coupons, so I'm writing this review instead of being in my car. I'm not sure if its their policy, but I've never gone to a place where the lane shuts down while people are in line and makes them move to another one. Edit: When I finally cashed out, the original line I was in was already taking people and had already cashed out the first guest before I had checked out. It would have taken less time for me to wait there for the cashiers to switch and start back up then it was for me to wait in another line.

This Rouses Market needs to hire more employees. I places a curbside order 24 hours ahead. I had to wait two hours to receive my groceries. The women who did the shopping were very nice, and they made appropriate substitutions, except for one item. If a business is that busy the management can afford to hire more employees. People need jobs.

I shop here often because it's close to where I live. They usually have good selection and their wine selection is huge. The staff is usually very friendly, however, I recently had an unpleasant experience that has left me not wanting to shop here. My friends and I are all in our twenties. Three of us walked in while the fourth was reparking the car. We walked towards the wine, as we came for that purpose, and when our fourth friend joined us, she said she overheard a man speak into his walkie-talkie that "three girls are headed towards the alcohol aisle." I shrugged and said it was kind of weird but we continued shopping. Me and one friend made our selection after several minutes of browsing and headed towards check out. That's when we noticed that a security guard was standing in produce, right next to the aisles we were in, watching us. Not in a discrete way at all. I got in line and my friend was behind me. I heard what I assume was a manager say into his walkie-talkie, "ID everyone or no one buys." I do understand the law, however, all four of us were making separate transactions, all buying alcohol, and none of us were underage. The security guard and manager stood at the end of the check out, watching everything we did, and watched us until we exited the store. I'm not sure why they felt the need to be so in-our-faces about us, but it was really strange and most definitely made us all uncomfortable. We were all happy to show our ID's at check out, so the following seemed uncalled for.

Very disappointed of Rouses on old shell road in mobile al. had a great ad for friday, saturday, sunday only for super bowl weekend. planned my super bowl party around it. Was going to have quit a few people over so i had to watch my pennies.. Decided to make grilled chicken leg quarters, stuffed bell peppers, ball park frank hot dogs and roasted garlic potatoes. Was also getting the wife to make her famous stuffed eggs. Went in to shop and they were out of the chicken leg quarters, bell peppers,eggs, and the potatoes they had on sell. Needles to say I was not a happy camper. Had to go home and rethink my plan . Oh, they were also out of the franks. Just wonder home many other people were left out in the cold like me. I wondered why there were so many empty buggies left throughout the store.

Wish we had Rouses in Birmingham. I haven't been in a grocery store this nice since Bruno's went away. Great selection. Upscale feel. Clean. Great stores.

Rouses you must do better!!!! I stood in your store today and waited 9 minutes on some chicken wings to take to my mom st the nursing home for them to come out all nice fresh and hot with feathers still stuck to them. This is not acceptable. Deli personnel we should be washing and cleaning the meat before we batter and fry it. Rouse claims to be a hometown grocery we need to make sure we are doing things the home way!!!!

When it comes to getting everything in one place, from fresh fruits and vegetables to hot food, from sushi to fresh cut flowers, Rouses has it all especially at this location. The sushi is made fresh while you wait if you would like. The deli and the bakery are top notch as well. I recently moved to mobile from St Louis. Surprisingly enough , the woman that checked me out is from my hometown Such a small world. She had just moved here within the past year. Doesn't say anything to the quality of the grocery store, except you hire great people from other states, lol. I'm glad the Rouse family decided to add a store here.

Wow, Super departure from the chain stores. Been a customer in Rouses, AL, MS and their Home state of LA. Clean, Fresh and awesome selection of meats, produce and especially seafood. Looking for Cajun specialty items? there all here. Prices great, friendly customer service. Only caution, check dates on sale, clearance items, usually close to expiration. Otherwise super!

This is my favorite grocery store. Top quality meat and seafood. Great selection of produce. And the bakery is aahhmazing

I LOVE Rouses!!! Before Whole Foods came to town, they didn't have all the specialty items that they have now. But they even sell Kombucha!!!! And they sell it cheaper than anyone in town!! They have a large selection of alternative gluten-free products, as well as a nice selection of organic produce. Their staff is always helpful and friendly. Great service! As pricey as Publix, Whole Foods and Virginia's can be, Rouses is a great alternative!!! Thank you Rouses!!!

Be very careful in buying the rotisserie chicken. I bought one got home and it was still raw. I took it back and customer service said they would let the deli know. Not we are so sorry. How can we make this better. Nothing! They made me fill like it was my fault. So I decided to get deli meats. The employee walked past me twice and then turned her back on me. I had to tap on the counter to get her attention, when she turned around she said "oh did you want something". I felt like saying no I'm waiting on a bus. How stupid can you get.

The deli food is over priced for the selection, the Thedore store is much better. I dont know who is over the deli but they aren't paying much attention to the quality of foods they put out...and God forbid you want a chicken tender, you will never get those here. Today for $9.32 I got a tiny leg qtr, some hard rice and the only decent vegetables, green beans and corn...woo!! The mac and cheese had been there for a day...and why they serve that turkey is beyond me...the beef tips were gone, just gravy...the cabbage was gone. And lastly, they never EVER go by the menu on the website.

I moved to Mobile, in the Springhill area, a little over a year ago. When I learned we were getting a Rouses just a couple of miles from my houses, I wAs ecstatic!!! I was born and raised on the MS gulf coast, and the rest of my entire family is from New Orleans/Metairie area. Considering Rouses is a local grocery store from the New Orleans area, this felt like home to me. I basically only shop here now on Old Shell Rd location. This is one of the nicest Rouses I have been in. It has a Very nice wine selection and they have a walk in wine area for the upscale wine selections. The meat department here is amazing!! We get our steaks specially cut by the butcher. They have a wide selection of fresh seafood, and specialty freshly prepared meat items. We Love their stuffed jalapeños with sausage and cream cheese all wrapped in bacon. This meat department also offers an hanging aged meat area as well. I highly recommend Old Shell Road Rouses.

I love this place. This is my favorite store. I love the lunch buffet and the salad bar. This place is wonderful!

This store was a pleasant surprise. The smell of shrimp and crawfish boiling when you enter the store is absolutely mouthwatering and a genius move. The employees are friendly and accommodating, The produce is top notch, their beer and wine selection is wonderful, their deli is well stocked with meats and fine cheeses. This store is Louisiana based so some selections are more cajun/creole based than your average winn dixie or publix, which I see as a wonderfully diverse plus. Their bakery items have not disappointed and their checkout lines are staffed well and move quickly. Their regular prices are a bit high, but they do run great sales so check the circular before you head out. So happy I have discovered Rouses. Welcome to Mobile, y'all. :)
