Pros: Rooms were clean, staff was very kind, free parking, and the location is convenient to the train station, Shiretoko National Park, and local dining.
Cons: the mattress was extremely hard. I am not picky when it comes to beds, but this was next level. Also, the hotel is very restrictive on allowing you to control the temperature in your room. They say it’s to “help the environment”, but really they are just trying to save money. It was May, so the temps outside were fluctuating between warm and cold, however they would not allow you to turn on the a/c yet, so we had a couple warm nights. Hotel is more then double what you pay for a much nicer room in Sapporo or Abashiri. If you are looking for even moderate comfort, I would recommend staying in Abashiri and adding a little to your drive. Quality sleep is worth it.
