Although somebody may prefer higher-order accommodation, this hotel is very very great for me and my family.Located just in front of JR Shiretoko Shari Station, it can be very convenient for me and my family to catch a train to somewhere else. The other excellence of the hotel is that there is a convenience store just across the zebra line. The hotel staff, from front desk receptionist to housekeepers, they all tried their best to answer my questions and make up my room. The price of the hotel is quite reasonable. I stayed there for consecutively 8 nights, I found that the price if very very reasonable.

When staying at a hotel your main desire is a good night’s sleep and a warm shower, if not you might as well go camping. The beds here are just as good as sleeping on the ground so we didn’t sleep much for the three nights we stayed here. It was also the most expensive hotel we’ve stayed at so far on our Hokkaido trip. Also the room is very restrictive on A/c controls so to cool off, we slept with the window open to cool off, but had to listen to the train station all night as a trade off. The hotel overall is very clean and provides all toiletries needed, they have a spa, vending machines, massage chair ($), and a breakfast buffet (550 yen per person). The breakfast buffet is Japanese style. The hotel is located right next to the train station, a delicious pastry restaurant, and good distance to the Shiretoko National Park.

Stayed for a night, and just a 30 second walk away from the station. Very good location for a snowy winter night. There is nothing much around the hotel but one seico mart (convenience store) and a few independent restaurants. There was a eatery-recommendation-around-the-area booklet put together by the hotel in the lobby and that helped alot. The hotel also has an open air onsen! Rooms were fairly spacious for Japan standards and staff were efficient and friendly.

Pros: Rooms were clean, staff was very kind, free parking, and the location is convenient to the train station, Shiretoko National Park, and local dining. Cons: the mattress was extremely hard. I am not picky when it comes to beds, but this was next level. Also, the hotel is very restrictive on allowing you to control the temperature in your room. They say it’s to “help the environment”, but really they are just trying to save money. It was May, so the temps outside were fluctuating between warm and cold, however they would not allow you to turn on the a/c yet, so we had a couple warm nights. Hotel is more then double what you pay for a much nicer room in Sapporo or Abashiri. If you are looking for even moderate comfort, I would recommend staying in Abashiri and adding a little to your drive. Quality sleep is worth it.

The hotel is 5 minutes from JR train station. For travelers planning a day at the Shiretoko National Park and then continuing the next morning to either Kushiro to the south or north to Abashiri, this is a great choice. And though close to the train station, it was very quiet. We especially like the hotel's granite-lined open baths - tastefully designed and not overly steamy as some baths can be.||A generous and delicious Japanese buffet breakfast was included with our room charge.
