Delicious French-style meals and great service. Dessert was too small.

I traveled to Roux from Buffalo yesterday to meet a friend for brunch, and what an amazing experience it was! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by the host and immediately greeted by our waitress. She not only took our order but also gave us some helpful insight into the dishes we chose, which was such a nice touch. I'm not a fan of runny eggs, even though the dish I wanted typically comes that way. Our server was incredibly kind and offered to speak with the chef about it. When the food arrived, it initially had the runny egg, but without me even saying a word, they quickly took it back and returned with the most delicious scrambled eggs. I truly appreciated their attention to detail and willingness to accommodate my preferences. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was top-notch, and the setting was beautiful. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Thank you for having us! ❤️

Excellent! Our first time visiting Roux and I was very impressed. The atmosphere is cozy with art deco architecture and dim lighting. Our table was waiting for us on our arrival and service was great. Craft cocktails and appetizers were fantastic. We had the Whipped ricotta toast and Potted chicken & foie mousse. They were both outstanding. The chicken cutlet and steak frites au poivre were very good. I’m going to make the frenchie cocktail at home because it was awesome. Thank you all for a great evening with our friends. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!

Google
We had a great time at Roux. For some reason all the restaurants were quite empty which made it extra pleasant! The food was very tasty and well proportioned- not too little; not too much. We especially enjoyed the cocktails. The sierra Norte was voted the best!

One of our favorite spots on Park Ave! Really well crafted cocktails and the special’s are always great. Excellent Management and service. David, is an awesome server. I loved the steak, chicken cutlets, the duck, ricotta toast, the salmon, and more! We will continue to take our friends here for brunch and dinner. A WONDERFUL SPOT!

Google
You got to be kidding me with this place. Absolutely incredible in every way. Gotta give a special shot out to Hailey behind the bar. Every drink we tried was perfectly crafted. David, our waiter took care of us like a pro- Super knowledgeable and knows how to make a night out. Food was perfect. Do yourself a favor and check this team out!

We sat at the bar and had an amazing meal! Started with a rum, pastis almond cocktail that was phenomenal and the special crab on homemade bread which was absolutely delicious - highly recommend. Beet salad, trout and butter bean entree were all exquisite. The vanilla custard w rhubarb - I will be dreaming about for a long time. Best meal in CNY! Fantastic atmosphere, definitely crowded and lively on a weekend.

One of my fave places to eat! Shay was a great server- the staff are all top notch, seems like they all really enjoy working there which made the experience really nice. Merci! ❤️

Yelp
This was my second time here. The place is clean and cozy, food gets ready fast and is absolutely delicious! Yelp
My my... what a tight room this place is. We came here for a date night one Saturday night. We made a reservation for 6:40ish and wasn't much wait. The food was great, my duck leg was tasty. It has a nice citrus flavor the veggies are nicely cooked and my rice was delicious. Only giving a 4 star because the place was sooo small and i almost felt like the other people on the other table (1ft away from me) literally!!!!

Yelp
I enjoyed happy hour at the bar with a beautifully balance Negroni. My starter was a truffle ceasar salad with salty rich parmesean and shaved croutons. The micro shave on the croutons gave a great texture twist that I have never tried on a ceasar. The entree was also wonderful, lamb cooked perfect garnish of pomegranates and mint with fluffy couscous. The entire experience was relaxed and delicious. Another Park Ave gem.

Yelp
Food was very high quality. The bread was some of the best I've had and the cheese board had a tasty and balanced mix of bites. The steak was very juicy and tender & the fries was spectacular. It did have a lot of pepper on it which was a bit overpowering. The service was quick and our waitress was very attentive. The ambiance was very nice and aesthetic. It is very small though and it gets crowded. My only complaint would be that the tables are too close to each other.

Yelp
I stopped in with a friend on Wednesday evening after work to have some drinks before heading to Eastman for a concert. The cocktails are so interesting and delicious! I was specifically happy with The Kismet. I recommend hurrying down for their fall cocktails ASAP! I'll be heading back for another Kismet soon myself and I look forward to trying the food!

Yelp
This is a nice restaurant to come to for date night, fancy dinners, celebrations, etc. We recommend reservations as it is a small restaurant space wise. It was packed when we got there. You have to expect to be seated close to other tables due to the spacing issue. I didn't order absinthe but my friends did and they really liked it. I ordered a Chardonnay and I was very happy with that. For the food, we went with the French onion soup, the Potted Chicken and Foie mousse for the table, the Chicken cutlet, and the Duck confit. The French Onion soup was delicious and a LOT! It was the perfect blend of onion, tart, salt, cheese and the goodness of a good onion soup. The potted chicken and foie mousse was very interesting and the baguette with it was delicious! I didn't end up finishing the chicken cutlet because of how heavy the soup was but I liked what I had - flat, fried and had a delicious remoulade on the side. My brother enjoyed his duck confit but felt it was a little small. He also finished my chicken cutlet. We didn't end up getting dessert but the cheesecake looked interesting. It is a pricey place so I recommend it for special occasions only. There is a parking lot about 2 blocks away. They do not validate parking.

Yelp
Disappointing. Pricey menu and very small portions. I'm not a fan of big portions, but if I can count the gnocchi on the small plate, that's a problem. Tasty entrees, but the price was too high for small portions. Cold waiter gave us the impression that we were distracting him from more important things behind the bar. Loud atmosphere. Plates were whisked away by the waiter even though not all of us were done eating. So some sat while others tried to finish. Not recommended, never going back.

Yelp
Lovely atmosphere that evokes the feeling of a cafe in Paris. Delightful sangria cocktail. Yummy latte. Delicious French toast and bacon. Highly recommend!

Yelp
3.5 stars. Came to to celebrate a birthday dinner. Made a reservation well in advance since it fills up fast. This is located in a great location (park Ave) and they called to confirm the reservation. While the prices reflect upscale dining, this is a very casual place (which I usually enjoy), however, I wouldn't say the experience felt special though. We tried the crab toast, good fries (upgraded with parm and truffle oil), escargot and the branzino. Crab toast was good though I felt for the price point ($22), the crab was a bit scarce and it was very much drenched in mayo. I enjoyed the escargot the most; that was delicious with the right amount of garlic and butter. Good fries were a little soggy and had just the barest touch of parmesan and smallest hint of truffle flavor (not worth the $5 upcharge. The branzino was quite disappointing. It was very oily and the rice was undercooked and the whole dish was very bland. With 3 appetizers and a small entree (no drinks!), the bill was over $100 after tax and tip which amounted to very little food. If you do come here, I would recommend the escargot, but for the price, I don't think anything stood out enough to come back.

Yelp
Absolutely the worst service ever! Do not recommend. We are visiting from California during the worst storm ever in Rochester. I begged my husband to venture out because I made a reservation at the restaurant where we had our first date. I made it for 4:00 to ensure we had our special table. We arrived at 4 and there were 2 people at the bar but no one in the restaurant. I asked to be seated at our table and was told she Could not seat is there "she would get fired" I asked for the other side and she said it was reserved. We were offered a small table in the middle of the room. I asked if we could move to the side. We sat ordered were served and payed and still no one sat at the booth I originally asked for. This was a special occasion ruined. We came from California during a storm to experience where we had our first date and it was awful.

Yelp
Stopped in last night at 5:00 when they opened, seated right away by host, we didn't have a reservation, which I recommend as the place filled up. Server Duane appeared quickly, took our drink orders and gave us the specials for the day. I had the Cheeseburger with fries, side salad, my friend had the escargot, and the gnocchi. Food was just incredible, I don't think I've had a burger this good. Bill for 2 was $90.00 so pricey, but the service was great (thanks Duane, you're the best), food was delicious, and place has great atmosphere, definitely going back, thanks for the great meal.

Yelp
This place by far is a favorite of mine and my boyfriends! Very authentic restaurant. I loved the ambiance at night and i felt like I was in some side street diner out in NYC. Beautiful experience! And our waitress was so sweet. The food was incredible as well. Overall an amazing experience!

Yelp
Highly recommended! I've been working in Rochester for about a week and have tried most of what are considered to be the best restaurants here-- my favorite by far is Roux. It's very comfortable for a solo diner (I ate at the bar) and reasonably priced for the quality (excellent steak au poivre is $34). My tab was around $95 before tip, incl. 10 oysters, a few drinks, an espresso and some absinthe.
google avatar

Yelp
Well, we haven't been here in a while and liked the new decor. Roux is always a nice surprise when it comes to menu items! First, we'd like to thank the bartender who recreated a rusty nail for my husband when they had no Courvoisier. Wow, what a wizard. Perfect drink. First was the beet salad which was very large and enough for two. Seasoned so nicely and just a beautiful dish. I had the Fried Chicken Cutlet and loved it (It was huge) but the coleslaw stole the show for sure. Hubs had muscles and loved them, and ate all the broth as well! We ate on a Friday night at 5:45 and the place filled up. Service was wonderful and the place was lively and fun. We will go again for sure! PS. Always make reservations!

Jordache E.

Yelp
This is usually a favourite spot. We went there for dinner on Friday and order the specials - a halibut dish and a lamb chops and couscous dish. Both were terribly disappointing--flavourless, not well seasoned, strange combinations-- and not worth the $45 each dish cost. Stick to their regular menu items. We expected much better, in terms of taste, flavour combinations, and overall quality, especially for that price!

Yelp
What a wonderful gem of a restaurant! The interior is vibrant and chic and the food and service is top notch. The French Onion soup is a must try, but leave room for some other appetizers. We had the beets and mussels and I managed to leave some room for one of the daily special salads. Luckily we saved room for the flourless chocolate cake as well.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was really good. They have good drinks and the restaurant is clean. Indoor and outdoor eating. I would recommend for brunch. I've never been for dinner

Yelp
I dined outside 2 months ago and had a great Bloody Mary. Creative continental menu and great people watching in the Park Avenue hub / near Berkeley Street. Wonderful service.

Yelp
Happy accident! That's how I would describe my visit to Roux! We were going out to dinner at the place next door...it was closed. So we happened into Roux for dinner. Wow! We had an appetizer of cheeses...delectable; drinks from the bar...devine!! And the steak and the gourmet burger where to die for!! So tasty! And Jose, our wonderful server was such a pleasant human...made us glad we walked in to this fun little joint!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate an anniversary. Making a reservation online was easy. Table was ready upon arrival and we were greeted by enthusiastic hosts and our server. Our server was attentive and catered to our every need in a timely manner. The food was priced fairly for the quality compared to other places on park ave. The cocktails were fun and the food was delish! The truffle fries were a treat! Will be dining here again.
google avatar

Grace R.

Yelp
Amazing!!! First time trying this place. The service was great and the staff were very attentive and helpful. My friend had trouble finding parking but they were very understanding and gave us more time before ordering. The truffle fries were SO good and I loved the shakshouka- so amazing especially the egg in the middle and the toast was so delicious! Excited to come back again!

Yelp
We had hoped to enjoy onion soup on Bastille Day but were quite pleased with the Sunday half chicken special and steak frites. Everything was excellent, from the sumptuous escargot to the warm baguette and Cabernet and delicious custard dessert. A tour de force in French cuisine and superb service! Bonne fête nationale!

K M.

Yelp
Went here for a Sunday Brunch. There was a very happy, large party on the opposite side of the restaurant that just by virtue of their size were very loud and it was almost impossible to hear ourselves. We were a party of 5 had difficulty talking even across the table. Not sure what you can do to improve the acoustics but I found it very uncomfortable. Our server was very friendly and visited us often so no complaints there. The food was delicious and the French themed menu was very authentic, some American fare as well. Everyone in our party was pleased all around (except for the noise) I might choose to eat outside next time weather permitting. Also, a very nicely stocked bar and wine list.

Yelp
Wanted a special place to enjoy a meal on a girls weekend in Rochester. This place truly delivered. The drinks are amazing and well crafted! My fave was the Frenchie. This was our first try of escargot and it was truly delicious. A fresh mix of garlic and herb butter and tender escargot. I enjoyed the trout that had a super crispy skin, potatoes cooked perfectly and a really delicious horseradish sauce. We enjoyed the monk fish cassoulet was a delicious red sauce, sausage white beans and fish. The atmosphere is dark but inviting. Reservations are a must .
google avatar

Yelp
This has become our accidental NYE tradition and what a happy accident it is. One of the best steak frites I've had around here
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Overall we had a pretty good experience. It started out with a wait 30 minutes past our reservation time, which was obviously not ideal. The staff were good about updating us every so often and made sure we knew we weren't forgotten. Once we got seated the service was very good and our waitress was very attentive. I got the French onion soup to start which was delicious! I was basically full by the time I finished it, which was good because my mushroom pasta dish was VERY bland. Like almost no flavor at all. On the other hand, the burgers and steak frites were delicious! My mom said the burger was one of her top 5 burgers of all time! And of course the fries with aioli are always a hit. We got the chocolate cake and pumpkin cheesecake to go for dessert. The cheesecake (smooth and creamy!) was a bigger hit than the chocolate cake (dry).
google avatar

Weijia L.

Yelp
Even though it was a Wednesday evening, Roux felt full. I made the reservation a few days ago. It's set for an hour and half for two people. The space is not that big so there's mirrors on the wall to make up for it. We got seated and started with drinks then we ordered. I got espresso maison, a coffee-heavy drink with stable foam layer, served in a coupe glass. There's a balance between the coffee scent and bitterness and the sweetness from other ingredients. I couldn't taste the cognac because it blended in really well. My friend got absinthe colada in a high ball though she couldn't taste the pineapple. We shared 6 oysters ($1 special night) and the escargot (no shell). The oysters had a sweet aftertaste. I got duck leg confit and she got the burger. The fries that came with the burger was hot, apparently freshly out of the fryer. The duck leg was warm spiced (cinnamon, ginger) fork tender with crispy skin and sweet-sour flavor (but not cloying and overwhelming). The noise level is loud. The service was quick and attentive. There's some outdoor seats though the weather was not ideal for that.
google avatar

John D.

Yelp
We ate at Roux for the first time last night. The food was amazing. We had the escargots and the lump crab toast for appetizers. Both are musts! I ordered the duck leg for my meal and it was also tasty but I tried my wife's Chicken cutlet and I preferred her meal. We also ordered the basque cheesecake and I think it was the best cheesecake I've ever eaten. The Frenchie is a great option for cocktails as well. We will definitely go back to try some of their other options.
google avatar

Yelp
Consistently fabulous food in a really cool atmosphere. Really we haven't had a bad thing here in the years we've been visiting. Fantastic bread with compound butters. Lovely beets. OMG, BOUILLABAISSE!!! Wonderful specials and, as silly as it is, the best fries with herbs and a side aioli that you could want. They are super addicting! Our son always enjoys the ROUX burger with gruyere and a fried egg. Great outdoor dining, though it gets busy so get here early. Definitely check this place out!!!

Bob K.

Yelp
Went for Mother's Day brunch and the food and service were very good. Disappointed that they were out of one selection but perfectly understandable for a holiday. The Croque Madame was outstanding and other dishes delicious. There was no wait and the waitress was sweet and very accommodating. Looking forward to returning to try other dishes
google avatar

Carlie C.

Yelp
I came to Roux for brunch on Saturday and I have to say I was a bit disappointed in the experience. The food was alright but seemed very overpriced for what you got, and took a very long time to come out. I will say the marinated beets were my favorite item and tasted great. The service was very mediocre - the place was not very full and yet the wait staff was not very attentive (had to ask for water many times to get it). The bathroom was also quite dirty. The inside of the restaurant was funky and decorated nicely; we sat outside and of course sitting on Park Ave is beautiful and nice.
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
You know, some businesses are thrown curve balls and die, others flourish. We went to Roux about a year ago, and having been a while since our last helping of French fare, we had to go back. Not only was the food just as fantastic, but the waiter remembered that we were there for our anniversary the year prior. Great food, great atmosphere, fantastic staff, can't say enough. Keep it up!
google avatar

Shirley H.

Yelp
Love love love the vibes here at Roux. Their charming and Parisian-themed interior is adorned with slightly stained mirrors along its walls and deliate chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. As much as I love their indoor design, we chose to eat outside due to the pandemic. We ordered both of their specials that day -- tuna tartine and prime rib. The tuna was roasted beautifully and topped on fresh, crispy sourdough bread. The portion was perfect, since the tuna itself was thick and creamy, and the sourdough was filling as well. The prime rib was seasoned with plentiful chives and a lovely sauce. It was tender and delicious. Such a wonderful spot on Park Ave.
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
Roux is one of my favorite brunch spots, consistent, delicious and cozy! Service is always great!
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
I've enjoyed Roux for date night, work dinners, and girls night out - all of which have been really lovely and memorable experiences. I am not an absinthe person myself, but I love that this option is readily available and on display here if you're looking to shake up your cocktail experience. The staff is always top notch, and a night snuggled up at the tiny Roux bar, interacting with the bartenders, is always really enjoyable. My favorite dish here is the gnocchi, and I am pretty sure it stays on their menu year round. The cheese plate is also a big winner served with gorgeous baguette and all kinds of accoutrements. I've been dying to try the croque madame but haven't found the time to get there for brunch. Prices are reasonable and you can get wine by the glass for under $10, which is great. They do take reservations and are conveniently located on the bustling Park strip.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
We came to Roux on a whim one Thursday night with no reservations; they were able to seat us inside as it was getting weirdly chilly outside. The ambiance at Roux is fantastic; the bar has an old school French saloon (is that a thing?) feel to it, while the dining area is smallish, quaint and charming. I started with a Frenchie cocktail which was fabulous! I was absolutely starving so I inhaled the petit charcuterie we ordered and toasty bread that came with it. I got the Roux burger and my husband got the steak frites, both were outstanding! I had the absinthe colada to end the night which was very good and my first absinthe drink! Roux is perfect for a romantic night out or a girls night for some cocktails. I already can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Roux has been a regular in our rotation since they opened. We love the space, the vibe, the menu, the outside seating when the weather is good, the inventive drinks and of course, the delicious food! So, when covid 19 hit and the Swan family decided, as a whole, to close all their restaurants temporarily, we were totally heartbroken. In my opinion, the best place on Park Ave - off limits! But then, possibly due to fan pressure(?), not sure...they decided to 'reopen' Swan Dive over on Alexander and Roux on Park. I put 'reopen' in quotes because their strategy is to have folks order online the day before you want to eat, so they can ensure the highest quality order (that they have all the ingredients, etc), and then you pick up at the designated location. So you are not entering the restaurant, which allows them to keep it clean and virus free! For the Swan family Park Ave restaurants, you can order online from a (limited) selection of items off the menus for Roux, Vern's AND Dorado, with pick up at Roux. Just call when you get there, give them the deets on your car, and a masked and gloved person brings your order out. The first week they were back in business we put in our order for Roux burgers, an extra side of Roux's house aioli (OMG so good), and we also got a single order of Vern's tomato pie. We arranged pick up for 6 pm, and were psyched! So psyched that we drove over a few minutes early and parked in front so we would be exactly on time. I called to let them know we were there, but our pick up time wasn't for a few more minutes - just in case the order was ready, so they could already bring it out. Precisely at 6 pm someone came out with our order and put it in the backseat for us. We got home, and I think our expectations were a little high....when ordering gourmet burgers with frites for take out, no matter the container (paper bag, paper box, plastic container...), there will be some impact to the food between the time it is boxed and when you get home. For us, though the food all tasted delicious, the fries were a little soft, though still warm, the burgers were perfect but the buns were a little soggy, and the tomato pie was stone cold, like it had been sitting a while. BUT, despite all that, it was the kind of comfort-food happy meal we were looking for, and we had enough aioli to dip our fries AND have left overs for the next days. Plus, the tomato pie was easily warmed up.... We will definitely be ordering from Roux again, and are sure that as things change with the virus and the ability of Rochester-area businesses to function, we'll see more menu options! Highly recommended that you check them out online. And don't forget to add a tip!

Yelp
Brunch today with outside seating, pleasant service, a happening place with unique and delicious choices. Check out the bathroom, too. It's tiny, and shows how a small space can be cool, even for a bathroom. On the pricier side but typical for brunch and to be expected for this culinary treat. The coffee is great, and they have specialty drinks being served that looked tempting.

Thomas I.

Yelp
Greetings Rochester food fans! Roux is another overrated Rochester let down. To start, Wednesday night is Oyster night and when we arrived at 6 pm there wasn't an oyster to be had but that was not the first let down in this dining misadventure. The first was the cold welcome from the lumbersexual host. After this confused clown begrudgingly seated us, we waited over fifteen minutes before a server showed up to take our drink order. We placed our drink order and were notified they were out of oysters on oyster night. I am trying to figure out how you run out of the night's featured item in the first hour of being open. After this letdown I was hoping for an improvement but alas, that was not to be. Our drinks showed up but for $14 and no alcohol in my drink, they could have served a little more or lowered the price because it was alcohol free. Not cool and not providing value for the money. We ordered a salad and before I could order a bowl of soup the server walked away. Again more letdowns. The salad was overpriced, simply dressed and completely lacking in any finishing touch. Next were the main dishes, the Parisian Gnocchi and a Steak Au Poiuve. The gnocchi showed up in a tiny plate with very few. The taste was alright but again the dish was lacking any style or true substance. It looked thrown together with little care or effort. The steak, a 7 ounce cheap cut of sirloin was rather tough. The fries were straight from a bag and again the dish looked thrown together and not finished with any pride. Roux is overpriced, overrated and typical of the post COVID pandemic of mediocrity. The ambiance is nice but that does not provide for a tasty well put together meal. I personally will never go back because there is no value or good service for the money they charge and there's no oysters on Oyster Wednesday!

Yelp
The food is excellent. The onion soup is a must have. The cocktails are fantastic. The bartender Louis is so friendly and engaging. The eggnog crème brûlée is a perfect ending. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Brunch is fantastic, so much flavor n herbs n cheese n chocolate. Covid very distanced and reservations....love it! All the food was good, but the chocolate croissant was amazing the espresso creme bruele also great. I LOVE BREAKFAST DESSERT! Pre-dessert the eggplant sandwich and croque versions are highly recommended.

Yelp
I decided to take my fiancé to ROUX for his birthday this year. This was our first time at ROUX and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff is so friendly and our food came out quickly. We got the cheese plate, lamb ragout, French onion soup, special salad, good fries and aioli and pumpkin crème brûlée and it was incredible! Everything tasted great and we have no complaints about our meal. Despite getting so much food, we were in and out within an hour and 15 minutes. My fiancé also enjoyed his cocktail quite a bit! We will absolutely be back! It is a bit dark in the restaurant and has limited seating, so if you're planning on going 7:00PM or beyond, I would maybe make a reservation :)
google avatar

Scott E.

Yelp
We waited over an hour for our food. That is not an exaggeration. We had a 7:30 reservation. We arrived early and got our food at 8:45. We had to ask twice to find out what was happening. They finally admitted that our order didn't get to the kitchen. They gave us bread and some champagne, but took nothing off the bill. When I complained, they took off one round of drinks. That came to $16 on a $120 bill. Less than 10% for over an hour wait. The food was good, but this was very disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
I had a pretty good brunch experience here. Came here on a Saturday morning at 11 AM. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated quickly. It did get crowded pretty fast, so I would recommend putting a reservation in just in case! I thought the decor inside was really cute. Our waitress was nice and helpful. My friend and I both ordered mimosas ($10/each). They were great! I ordered the Spring frittata ($14) and my friend ordered the smoked salmon plate ($15). It took awhile for the food to come and honestly, my frittata was pretty dry and the green salad is just a handful of warmed greens (from being on top of the frittata) so I didn't think it was really worth the cost. My friend did enjoy her salmon and said it was very refreshing. Total price came out to around $64 including tip. I thought it was pretty pricey for the amount of food and long wait. I would still try their dinner menu though.
google avatar

Maxine M.

Yelp
I love to go here for a special lunch, brunch, or dinner. Very high quality food in a place with lots of ambiance. Adventurous spirit shown in the menu. Whether eating at a sidewalk table or indoors, it's always a treat to dine at ROUX.
google avatar

Lena H.

Yelp
ROUX is an outstanding restaurant, and we throughly enjoyed our recent dining experience there :-) The ambiance is relaxed and welcoming, and the service is first rate. The prices are on the high side, but when you consider the quality of the food there's no question it's worth the cost. We shared our meal family-style. Everything was beautufilly presented and totally delicious. The steak and frites were exceptional, and the bouillabaisse was nothing short of amazing! They're using a fennel in the broth, which both acetuates the flavor and adds to the dish's wonderful "nose". About the only thing I'd say that could use improvement is the noise level, which I think would benefit from the addition of some noise dampeners. Despite this very minor complaint, I won't hesitate to return, and highly recommend this place!

Yelp
CiBon was one of the old stomping grounds of the gang ten years ago, and I was devastated when it closed. I finally gave Roux the old college try last week, and I was more than pleased with the service on a cold Wednesday night in January. You can't take intimate spots like Roux for granted. The soft-lit atmosphere and cozy lined benches make it a very coveted spot for date night, cocktail hour, or getting together with a group of friends. Clearly, this isn't a review for brunch, but as General MacArthur once proclaimed..."I shall return." I am typically a wine drinker, but when it's the right time and place, I can imbibe on a nice cocktail now and again. The Frenchie was everything and more. Luis the mixologist made a very sexy spin on the French 75 featured on their menu; the lemon lavender ratio is perfection. I had two! Manhattans were also solid. I made a reservation that got bumped up from 5 to 7 guests unexpectedly because we were together after a funeral service. Roux was very accomodating and made a few swift changes in order to give us the best seating arrangement they had available. Even on a Wednesday night, Roux is a hot spot. I highly recommend making a reservation. Among our table, the Roux burger was ordered, the fusilli pasta, and the duck. We also had a plate of olives shared among the table. If I were to go back I think I would actually order the burger, which is surprising. It had a lot of flavors and was cooked perfectly. The chocolate cake and creme brulee were also a gorgeous way to end the dining experience. I appreciate the staff taking such good care of us, I think a little bit of Roux was what we all needed and I am eager to return for another round.

Yelp
Love the vibe and aesthetic and the food was incredible. Service definitely on the leisurely side, sk maybe don't come when you're in a rush? I loved the charred gem salad and mussels.

Yelp
My partner and I wanted to try something different for Valentine's Day. We decided upon ROUX, having never been there, and made a reservation online. We are very glad we made that choice! We were seated promptly on arrival at our reservation time, and the service was friendly and very attentive. Upon being seated, I ordered the House Shirley Temple, and was impressed. I never thought something as ordinary as a Shirley Temple could be elvated to such levels! We started our meal by sharing the Salmon Rillettes, and French onion soup. The Rillettes were flavorful, with a delicious assortment of crackers, pickles and vegetables. The French Onion soup was one of the best I've ever had, with flavorful Gruyere cheese, and crisp croutons that retained a bit of crunch right down to the last bite. For our Entrees, I had the Sailor-Style Mussels, and he had the ROUX Burger, with truffle frites. The mussels were perfectly cooked, served in a herby, rich broth. They included a small baguette in a paper bag with the ROUX Kangaroo (Kanga-roux?) stamped on it for a nice touch. The burger was cooked perfectly, with flavorful toppings, and delicious hand-cut frites. Finally, we finished off the meal with a citrus tart, which was light and lively, a perfect ending to the rich meal. We definitely plan on returning, and look forward to trying their brunch! As one of the few French-inspired restaurants in the area, ROUX is a true gem!
