Rowan Tree Hostel

Had a wonderful stay. Great price for 5 nights at €299. The facilities such as the wash rooms and kitchen were always cleaned to high standards. The staff were so accommodating and made me and my girlfriend feel so welcome on a trip together answering any queries at all hours. Great location in the town whilst the rooms were clean and comfortable.

The staff were fantastic. Very friendly. Place has an electronic lock on the main entrance. The gate around also has a magnetic lock but only on after like 2 AM. Push buzzer and speaker to get in. Good security, reassuring. Electronic NFC cards to get onto floor and into rooms that just work. Found the breakfast situation quite strange. Didn't bother as a result. Probably just me. Overall, nice building, great staff. Would definitely recommend it.

Front desk service was nice and helpful. Wifi was free and worked pretty well. Bathrooms were clean, plenty of hot water. Stayed in a 10 bed mixed dorm. Had a patio which was cool, even though it was too cold to use. Kitchen was fine, the dining area was good as well. It had a pool table which is always fun. Beds were a bit firm, depending on your preference. The included breakfast was typical Continental style. Would stay again.

Perfect! We had a big, clean room with one bed more than expected. Breakfast was as nice and kitchen equipment in good condition. Staff was very helpful and professional and the location by the river was beautiful! Very close to Dunnes. All in all a great Hostel! I definitely recommend it.

I should have been warned by the term "Hostel", but they advertise private rooms with ensuite, so we booked it. The mid-Ennis location is great, you can walk to everything. The room was extremely basic, supplying bedding and two towels and that's it! Bathroom floor was sticky and rug tiles in the room did not look very clean. We didn't mind the make-it-yourself and self- clean -up breakfast of toast, and tea/coffee. There is someone on duty 24 hours a day. I expected it would be basic, but the price was anything but.

This is the first time I am staying in a hostel. The location is very good, right in town centre. The staff is very friendly and so are the hostel guests in general. I have got a really big ensuite room overlooking the river. The room and bathroom are very clean. The only problem is d wash basin has 2 separate tap heads so I either get very hot or very cold water. There is a huge kitchen and dining area for us to use and it is real fun cooking together with the other guests.

This is the BEST hostels I've ever stayed at ! The staff went out of their way to help and accommodate me and ALL of there guests ! The free breakfast was wonderful....I really liked my room # 109 can I have it again, when I return...Thank you so mush, for your outstanding hospitality....I'll be back. Ennis is the perfect size of town, lots to see and do.

Staff at the front desk was friendly, laundry access was reasonably priced and the machines are industrial grade. (very large loads) I stayed there for one night. Only major complaint I had was that the beds were HARD as a rock.

Located 20 minutes from Shannon Airport, Rowan Tree Hostel is the cutest little hostel located in the cutest little town! This is probably the cleanest and tidiest place I've EVER stayed whilst traveling! Great access to the city centre... maybe a two minute walk down the road? Beautiful grounds and a restaurant on site. Ennis is a lovely little place to visit. This place is almost too nice to be considered a hostel.... it was honestly so lovely! Give this place a visit and make sure to visit Ennis! Great for live music.

The location of the hostel is excellent- right in the corner of the Main Street of town. Dorms, toilets, showers, and communal kitchen are spotless. When I stayed, we had some issues with shower water pressure and temperature. Staff was very accommodating and led us to where there were working showers and also gave us free towel hire. Great hostel in a small town.

Great location, no frills hostel. No wifi other then on the first floor is disappointing. Clean rooms and friendly service. Free cereal and fruit in the morning.

I really don't understand why this hostel has received such great reviews. When traveling, a few things are very important; good WiFi and clean washrooms. This hostel had neither. WiFi is only available in the kitchen and lobby. As soon as you go into another area of the hostel, the WiFi cuts off. I even tried going to the living room next to the lobby, and I lost the WiFi connection. Washrooms were plain weird. You had one huge washroom in a room for 8 people, and there were no curtains or anything to keep the water from leaving the shower area. So basically, after you showered you were walking around on a wet floor trying not to fall. Also, you have to bring your own towel or pay to use one. Breakfast was average. You got toast, a couple of fruit options, jam, butter, 2 choices of cereal and coffee/tea.

This is hands down the best hostel I have ever stayed out. The rooms are clean and spacious, as well as the bathrooms. They have plenty of storage - shelves, places to hang your coats, etc (many hostels don't). There is lots of space in the common areas as well if you want to lounge around. Some hostels try to squeeze people in, but not at Rowan Tree - I felt like I was at a hotel. You can tell that care has been taken in the decor and unkeep of the building. Not to mention that the location is fantastic, it's right in downtown Ennis and an effortless walk to the shops/pubs/restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Pretty good hostel. The Guys are so friendly. They put an extra bed in our room when we asked but I unfortunately broke it. The lats broke lol. Too many pies, hence all the check ins at the gym lately. They sorted it straight away though. They have a shop too with those essentials you forget like toothpaste and the all important chocolate for those midnight snacks. They don't like you singing gospel songs at 3 am though down in the canteen but hey, they gots te have rules. I wouldn't have wanted to be above us. The breakfast wasn't exactly luxury but was free and for 30 quid a night, it's a good deal.

This hostel is pretty nice. My only complaint is that the shower and toilet lights were out on the second floor. So it took a longer time to shower and use the bathroom. The haunted tales surrounding some of the rooms were very interesting. The restaurant attached to the hostel had the BEST calzones and lasagna I have ever tasted.

Lovely accommodation for a hostel! We had three beds, plus our own washroom. I was pleasantly surprised!
