Nice fairly big bistro with a large menu. A little bit pricier than your average cafe I'd say. Nice stylish interior with some classic looking bar stools and a coffee machine that looks really nice. The staff were really nice and it's family run...it was really nice that several generations of the family are working there and they deliver service with pride. Food was pretty decent.

Disappointing Value for the Price I recently visited Rowan ,l left very disappointed— especially considering the price point. I ordered a prawn dish that cost £16.50, and what I got was underwhelming, to say the least: just three small prawns, a pile of deep-fried chips, a piece of stale, old baguette. The prawns were decent in flavor but far too few for the price — three prawns for £16.50 feels more like an appetizer than a main. The chips were clearly the frozen variety, deep-fried and lacking any real seasoning or originality. And the baguette? It was dry and hard, definitely not fresh. For what you’re paying, you’re essentially getting a plate of fried freezer items and barely any seafood. There are much better places around offering fresher, more generous meals for the same or even lower prices. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

We have been coming here for a few months now and we have had a great experience right from the start ! The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The food here is always good they have a wide selection to choose from, its always beautifully presented and they have some lovely home made deserts and yuri who is a waiter is always so friendly, kind and treats you like one of the family!

The English breakfast is outstanding, latte is good. Staffs are friendly. However ,wish you could turn the music down especially in the afternoon. The sound is so loud that makes me, the neighbour living nearby, feel disturbed. 🙏 thanks

First time going to the cafe and it was a really nice experience. The food was clean and fresh, the staff are very friendly willing to engage with you. The service was fairly quick which makes sense as it wasn't overly busy The only gripe or problem I have was the high end cost. I think its a place I'll go to once in a while just because the quality is good but I can't afford to eat here every day.

My hubby and I went for breakfast this morning. The best ever hash browns I have had, mashroom was delicious and eggs done just how I like them, and presentation was terrific. I would definitely come back again the best breakfast served in Ilford. I will be recommending to friends and family too also the atmosphere and cafe is so relaxing, nice and clean. Love it 😘

Yelp
I have only ever been to Rowans for breakfast. As you walk in there are a few sofas for you to get comfy on, other than that there are about 15 tables and chairs. It is always pretty busy with locals especially on a Saturday morning. Rowans is a posh cafe, clean and friendly service. Breakfast is good, but compared to a normal cafe it is a bit expensive. Their menu is extensive and there is something for everyone. This is the only cafe at this end of Barkingside so if you find yourself coming out of the library feeling a bit hungry you might as well pop in :)

Yelp
Rowans is another one of those new coffee shops. You know the kind, browny comfortable interiors, small portions and subtle over-pricing. Yet for some reason, they get away with it. Myself and most people I know really like it - and I have often met with friends here for lunch. What I like about it is how no nonsense it is. The menus are simple yet options are plentiful. And whether you want a pancake, a smoothie or a panini - those Polish waitresses sure are quick and their chefs even quicker. This is a place where the old ladies are comfortable, yet at the same time you get school kids hanging out here after school - along with the fashionable twenty-somethings sipping their little coffees. They do a BBQ chicken melt in Panini; which is completely awesome. Why it's different from anywhere else I don't really know but when they melt that thing together it is true magic. Other than that, it's just a nice place to head to with a friend for a coffee - and there's not many places in the high street you can say that about.

Yelp
This is a really nice coffee shop located on the Barkingside High street in the same line as other shops. The interior of the place is quite nice with table and chairs and also settees. It is an informal setting coffee place with good ambience. They serve breakfast, coffees, teas, cakes, sandwiches and so on. The food is good and the service is excellent. The staff are really friendly and helpful (especially if you have children). It is an ideal place to go, sit and relax for a while. There are several coffeeshops in the area and this one is one of my favourites!
