We had the best time! Great service and friendly staff made our dinner out even better. And the fried chicken dinner special was delicious! Tasty libations too 🍻! Recommending you check out Rowdy Joe’s on the North Shore.

Google
Laid back, casual vibe, plenty of parking and seating. The bar is lively and everyone is very warm and welcoming. The food was GREAT, they have different specials during the week (it was southern night ) I'm always a fan of some delicious pork chops!! Our server was extremely attentive and all staff seemed happy! The Sriracha Terriyaki wings are a must!

Google
The food is definitely gourmand with good sized portions. The iced tea was some of the best I've had on the island, but their hot sauce is hands down the best and the even sell it by the bottle.

Google
Creative and unique menu with an Asian flare. Pork ginger wontons appetizer was delicious, ginger sauce was the perfect dip. I really liked the Ribs, fall off the bone tender, and loved the slaw and cucumber salad. Pork Sliders also had good flavor and enjoyed them as a shared dish. They are open only Friday-Sunday 5p-9p for kitchen and then at 10pm the bar closes due to Covid restrictions. Sunday’s they also have Sushi specials!

The food was amazing! I tried a little of everything my family ordered. We enjoyed talking to our waitress and learning about the history of the restaurant. This place is definitely a hidden gem! We wish we would have found it sooner on our vacation here! Next trip here it will be our go to place for food!

Google
We have eaten there twice this week and can’t say enough about the service and the food. We had Sunday brunch first and the waitress was so kind and welcoming. The food was great. We went tonight for dinner. Same waitress, same warm welcome. I had the chicken Alfredo and my husband had the stir fry with shrimp. Neither one of us could stop raving about how good our meal was.

Google

Google
Great atmosphere, great food and friendly people. We had the pleasure of enjoying a great meal tonight while listening to some live Latin music. Plans to return tomorrow evening!!

Yelp
Amazing staff, kind and service oriented. Quick service, and a warm greeting. Amazing portions for brunch. The table had an omelet, biscuit and gravy, and French toast. Mimosas and Bloody Mary's were great. Sat outside and enjoyed a nice breeze. Planning to go back today.

Yelp
Brunch was so good, we came back for dinner (and football) later that night. Huge portions, friendly staff, good drinks, and fun locals. What more could you ask for?

Yelp
Back again to dine in at Rowdy Joe's! Under a new management. Friendly service, attentive and courteous. Brad was polite and gracious. We had the lemon pepper chicken wings, buffalo wings, shrimp caesar salad, and burger. Food was delicious, prices were reasonable. Dined on the patio, plenty of tables, open concept. Night time lights made it cozy & comfortable.

Yelp
Went to Rowdy's last night for our final night of a two week stay on the island. We renting locally and wished we tried it sooner. Food was awesome. Service great and a cool atmosphere. We will be back next year

Yelp
This was the worst experience that we have had on the Island in more than 5 years. First - it took more than 2 and a half hours to get our food - and it did not arrive at the same time. I could understand (perhaps) if the place was packed - but it wasn't. Food varied between ok and bad. We finally had to have our food packed out so that we could get back home. We have been to Rowdey Joe several time previously and enjoyed it very much. However, the new ownership provided bad food and a very bad exprience.

Yelp
Third time on the island and the first time trying Rowdy Joe's...we had coconut shrimp, salad and dessert. Probably the best meal we had on the island. Not to mention the best margarita. Brad, our waiter was great. Nice, friendly, attentive. We will go back!

Yelp
I just came from the Soft Opening of Rowdy Joe's and I'm very happy that they've reopened! Located in La Valley, just before Cane Bay Road, this bar / restaurant was closed and is now under new management. In addition, Chef Sean is a seasoned vet who had lived on island for many years and knows his way around a plethora of cooking styles. This leads to a very diverse menu! There is seating inside, limited seating at their bar and also patio dining in the opened air. Because Rowdy's is right on the side of the road, it makes it super easy to find! There's very limited traffic, so there no noise pollution. There's ample parking in the back of the property and there's decent lighting. The ambiance at Rowdy's is definitely lowkey. This is NOT an upscale restaurant and feel free to come as you are (flip-flops welcome). Because there are no booth seating, the dining experience can't be considered "intimate" and it's very laidback here. Their menu will contain some staple items and they will have a daily specialty theme that will change and this allows us to enjoy a diverse array of food options. I highly recommend their brownie ala mode with local icecream! Try the gooseberry!! There will be live music in the future and I believe that Rowdy Joes is a fantastic addition to the north shore dining scene! * The ONLY reason I cannot give this place a 5th Star is because the outside patio has no screening and this means you are at the whims of the mosquitoes. Bring some OFF or Avon Skin-So-Soft, you'll need it.

Yelp
Incredibly and pleasantly surprised by how attentive, accommodating and amazing this restaurant was. Ya there was one rowdy customer, assuming that was Joe. Food was great and prices were even better. Excited to go back!

Yelp
We think this is a cool place. Cocktails, beers and soft drinks offered. Dart board, tvs. The food missed the mark for us. The 3 chicken tacos were salty tasting underwhelming for 20.00. I think they were suppose to come w slaw or on the taco. Minuscule on the inside of the taco. The blackened fish taco were slightly better. We want to come back to this small local bar and grill so few places on the N Shore. But I'd skip if you want tacos.

Yelp
Had a pretty disappointing visit at Rowdy's. To be fair, it was an event night with a band. However, the buffalo wings took 55 minutes to reach us. The service just seemed chaotic. Overall, a 3/5.

Yelp
Amazing food, had the hamburger and the ham/turkey melt. We scarfed the food up!! Good service

Yelp
I can't say I loved the place, but I can't say I hated it. For the price, I had better in town. The service was excellent. The waiter was always available and friendly We shared: Lamb empanadas- they were tiny and came with a small side of salad. We knew this was an appetizer, but we expected something bigger. We had just come from the coconut festival where the empanada were big. These three empanadas did not equal one from the festival. Panko crusted Fried Brie- that's was delicious. It also came with a side of salad and bread. The bread was not sliced through, so it was difficult to pull apart. The habanero mango chutney completes the dish. Blues cheesecake salad- this dish was under salads, not appetizer. I was truly surprised when I received the same exact dish as the fried Brie, but instead of Brie it was blue cheese. The small amount of lettuce received really didn't amount to a salad. The blue cheese cake was good, but by then I was a little disappointed that I had all that cheese, but not enough greens. Parking is available on site. They have inside and outside seating. The bar has happy hour.

Yelp
The food was excellent and our server, Sara(h?) was top notch. Try the banana bread pudding. Everything else I ate was from the specials menu, but if if the Mahi piccata or jerk pork tenderloin are on special when you visit, you can't go wrong with either.

Yelp
Food was good but OMG the Key Lime Cups will take you to Heaven. The best key lime dessert I have ever had in my life!
google avatar

Yelp
We spent a perfect evening here by ordering all of the appetizers (except for the mac and cheese), the white sangria, and dessert. The owner waited on us and did a great job on checking in regularly throughout the hour and a half that we were there. I had heard my MIL rave about the edamame before but had no idea that she was referencing fried edamame before our arrival. The fried texture combined with the delicious sauce dripping to the bottom of the bowl was perfection! I wish I would have remembered to take pictures of everything but we were so hungry that I simply forgot. Between the appetizers, salad, and homemade dessert, it was a slam dunk for my palate. 5 stars, would absolutely recommend.

Ryanne C.

Yelp
Very nice staff Family favorite restaurant AMAZING CHEF the shrimp and grits are simple the best If you are on the island I would definitely recommend!!

Yelp
Did not like the cold attitude of the servers. Their neighbor The Landing Beach have better folks. The food was not great either. While we ended up going to the Landing Beach 3 times during our 5 days stay, we avoided this place like the plague due to reason mentioned above.

Yelp
Okay updated review from August 8th 2022, Rowdy Joe's has now officially reopened under NEW management last week. Please follow Facebook for daily specials and updates, since times might be changing in the future. We decided to stop and try "asian" night on Thursday, so we started off with the Brie salad app which was exactly like the previous brie app, very good. They did have a okay "regular" menu but the nightly specials were the star of the choices. We both ordered the Chicken Mei Fun, which was great, noodles perfectly done, vegetables cooked slightly but crunchy, with a light soy type coating, just enough to give this meal a great semi moist finish. Plus 4 beers and a water total was a bit over $70, not bad for St Croix North Shore dining. We will be going back for the Saturday chicken fried steak special ...

Dwayne H.

Yelp
Nice countryside restaurant with varied menu. Southern, Asian and Mexican inspired dishes to name a few. Only place on Stx that I've seen trout at and it's very good. Perfectly seasoned and fried just crisp. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Probs my favorite island vibe dining our adventure in St. Croix. First off, it's an incredibly scenic drive out to this NW side gem. This seems like a friendly local hangout with cold beer and great food. Brad did a great job explaining their menu, a refreshing change to your options in downtown C'Stad. From dinner size cups of daily soups to unique apps, sandwiches, salads, and right priced dinner entrees. We started with Panko crusted Brie and a cup of Chowder. Both were very filling and could pass for lunch, but we swam all day and needed more. My wife picked the Roast Turkey Brie Apple onion and cranberry sandwich on Ciabatta with Fried polenta. For me, Chipotle BBQ pulled pork sliders with slaw, black beans and rice. Much like all of St. Croix, there were limited kid meal options. (Only downside) The outdoor patio has a great ocean breeze and friendly cat for your kids to chase around. Live music begins at 7pm most nights.

Celeste M.

Yelp
would not recommend. thankful to the waitress she was nice otherwise I'd stay away. the food was not good expensive as is everything in St. Croix is but at least you can get a decent meal or a view Rowdy Joes offers none. the music was horrible weird vibe. the portions were small & heavy. At best this place needs a makeover from the exterior to menu & or cook. the drive out to the restaurant is beautiful but keep driving. I would have rather donated my money to the churches "poor box" than pay for what I got. wasted money & time definitely won't be back.

Yelp
Our food was okay. We didn't like a lot of the spices that they put in the some things. We had the tuna and fried rice. The rice had a strangle flavor so we didn't eat it. The chicken parm was good. The fish tacos were okay. The fried Brie was okay. The tomato basil soup was good! The cookies and cream ice cream was good.

Yelp
Horrible service and less than mediocre food. The owner, Cher was not pleased to serve us. She acted like it was a bother to her we were even there. We should've known not to stay when we saw the table next to us leave. Throughout the whole meal it was an effort to track someone down to place any kind of request. When we did we were presented with an eye roll. We've also never eaten anywhere on the island where the flies were so bad. Will never be coming back. Not sure how this place has so many good reviews but nothing about it was good.

Lana S.

Yelp
Must eat here! I would call it a hidden gem except you will drive right past it if going to Cane Bay. Phenomenal food! True Chef menu, come hungry and expect to want to eat here over anyplace else. Not touristy :) Great people, very friendly. My 6 year old had a blast chatting up the locals and making new friends. Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Danielle H.

Yelp
Wonderful food and service! The Panko crusted brie was amazing! Our margaritas tasted absolutely delicious.

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Loved this place, great atmosphere. We wanted to try everything on the menu, we did 3 apps and turkey pot pie. We were so full we didn't get to try their homemade ice cream.
google avatar

Brian J.

Yelp
Food was ok, not really worth the 53 dollar pri e tag. Server was not the friendliest, possible cauuse we are nondrinkers. would suggest other options.
google avatar

Luis A.

Yelp
It's a little hole in the wall place that doesn't appear to be what it seems. We got there around 5pm and there were only about three tables occupied, but around 6:30-7pm, it got packed. The bar only holds about eight people, but it is worth it. The special appetizer was prosciutto wrapped shrimp with sweet and sour sauce; they were amazing. And the entree was prime rib with au ju and smashed potatoes...again, amazing. Don't judge the outside by what the inside has to offer...
google avatar

Franco T.

Yelp
Ate a few different dishes from the menu and non were impressive. The Parm Chicken was not good at all, was glazed with oil and way over priced $22.00. If you come for a nice cold beer this may be the place for it. Beer was good and cold.
google avatar

Sarah M.

Yelp
This place is super out of the way and a bit treacherous to drive to on those narrow, super dark jungle roads, but was totally worth it. Had good conversations and great food, and my son was obsessed with the cat that lives there (think his name is Charlie). The drinks were excellent and the price was right. Sit on the patio. I'd visit again if I was in the area.
google avatar

Emilee R.

Yelp
Without a doubt, our favorite find on St. Croix! Scratch made and innovative, it's cuisine you don't find anywhere else on the island! Highlights were the turkey pot pie, fresh wahoo, chorizo meatloaf and the pork wontons. The drive out is incredibly scenic, too!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Food is excellent. service is horrible. Not that busyto answer questions. Bar tender was server and was rude to everyone.
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
Friendly service, excellent daily specials with fresh seafood. Homemade ice cream and desserts. Particularly enjoyed the coconut soup for starters.Nice mix of locals and visitors to the island. Kid friendly.

Yelp
This was my first trip to St. Croix, but with friends who go annually. They usually really enjoy Rowdy Joe's and were excited to take me for dinner on my first night on the island. Unfortunately, they were pretty disappointed with the changes. It is apparently much less busy that it used to be, and the food is not as good. According to the locals we spoke with, the couple that owned it split up and the chef left along with the husband to have their own restaurant (Flyers, which is really good!) We each ordered the prime rib. It was just ok. A bit tough, and definitely over-priced for the quality. They do have a really nice covered patio, so we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful warm weather. They also have a little cat that comes around and is happy to take any leftovers you will offer him (but he's not obnoxious and doesn't beg. I'm an animal person and very happy to have had him sitting under my chair :) The waitress said they kind of rescued him, so I thought that was nice.

Yelp
This is literally an amazing place to hangout and get a nice bite to eat. When me and my big ol family came down to Rowdy Joe'S I was greeted by a polite staff who made the experience even more enjoyable. I had the chicken part which was the best chicken parm I've ever had. The pulled pork sandwiches or sliders were very tasty as well. I would recommend this to anyone who likes food.
google avatar

Poornima B.

Yelp
Must try... Asian blackened fish tacos with mango chutney. Brilliantly done tacos! So much meat i.e. fish in one taco... all of América should make tacos like this. Best place to eat on this Island, hands down. I will miss this on mainland. Sigh. Also tried coconut lamb empanadas... good stuff.
google avatar

Lenny K.

Yelp
This was my favorite dinner on the island. I had a meatloaf that was stuffed with chorizo. It was great. The place has a really fun vibe and our servers were terrific. Make sure to save room for dessert because the ice creams here, and the flavors are constantly rotated, are among the best I have ever had. Super-creamy and the mix-ins with each flavor were also great. In fact, one night we ate somewhere else and came here for dessert because it was sooooooooo good on our previous visit.

Yelp
Maybe the best fish tacos I've ever eaten!! But let me back up. I heard about Rowdy Joe's from a co-worker that just raved about the place. After we spent a day at the beach we headed over. They make it real simple here a chalk board with about 5-7 options. We started with the edamame, different then I've had before. They fry it then ad a soy based sauce that's full of flavor. You want to drink the sauce and two members of our party did. For our meal the table was split between fish tacos and the Cuban. The four of us with the fish tacos all claimed the best I've ever had! Mahi mahi if you're curious, you only need one, but you get two, with a side. The Cuban side of the table was saying the same thing. I did get the other half of my daughter's the next day and it was good!! The sides were as good as the meal itself. I tried the Asian noodle salad, amazing. The gentleman who helped us was amazing. We all wanted Rowdy Joe stickers and drinks and he was on it. The adults all had the Mojito with mint and basil, absolutely refreshing! Rowdy Joe's is a bit out of your way on one of the more beautiful drives on the island. Making it a great destination to enjoy a meal? Not sure who the chef is but that person needs some recognition. Wonderfully prepared food!!! You'll love this place!
google avatar

Steve H.

Yelp
Been here a few times absolutely wonderful every time! Prime rib Saturday nights. Lamb empanadas and fish tacos are outstanding. OMG on the lamb shank special!
google avatar

Rona B.

Yelp
This is a great spot to head over to when you cannot handle anymore bland resort food. Had a great lamb curry empanada....
google avatar

Sam S.

Yelp
Rowdy Joe's Northshore Eatery serves up some good grub at this roadside restaurant in St Croix! Chilling on the patio on a sunny Caribbean day was very pleasant. The fish tacos were awesome! Some of the best I've had. Mint chocolate chip ice cream was a great dessert. Love this place!
google avatar

Brandi N.

Yelp
This is our second time in St. Croix and I'm sad it took us this long to find this place!! I read some reviews that the food quality had decresed recently and I don't know what is was before but is was f-in' AMAZING!! It was myself, my husband, my mom and my two sons - and every single one of us was delighted. We will be adding this to our list of places to visit when we return. Funny side note - as we were driving back to the condo I was thinking how the road was dark, winding and narrow and I was glad there was no risk of hitting a deer...then I SAW A DAMN DEER! Who knew?? Deer on St. Croix! But you can't really go over 20 MPH anyway so it had plenty of time to run into the trees. PHEW!
google avatar

Niki G.

Yelp
I come to St. Croix every year and stop in to Rowdy Joe's every time. The venue is very unassuming and basic and the service is ok, but the food is amazing. I have never had a bad meal here. I love their appetizers and the ice cream is delicious. The drinks are pretty darn good too. Worth the drive out to Rowdy Joe's.

Laura M.

Yelp
Best food we had all week! This looks like a roadside bar but don't let appearances fool you; the food is to die for and very reasonably priced! Our server was friendly & moved tables together for us. We wanted to try everything! We ordered fish tacos, lamb empanadas, turkey & smoked gouda sandwich, jalapeno mac & cheese, pulled pork sliders, turkey pot pie and chocolate bread pudding. We all shared everything & loved it all! They have plenty of off-road parking & seating indoors or out. My only regret is that we ate here on our last night on island, otherwise we would have eaten here more than once.
google avatar

Marilyn S.

Yelp
Ate here our first night. Ordered too much and were stuffed because we couldn't decide but it was all delicious. Fresh tuna ceviche was excellent, fried siracha edamame was addictive. We shared the fish tacos with mahi which were huge, and lamb empanadas. Those were my least fav but I am not a lamb fan. Bread pudding dessert with a caramel sauce was over the top. Super super casual but had a nice band with mellow singer. Loved this place
google avatar

Estrella C.

Yelp
We stopped by Rowdy Joe's right after our horse adventure so we were really hungry!! Their food is all delicious. However we especially loved the homemade ice cream!! It was perfection. Very nice location by Cane Bay beach and customer service was perfect!

Jeremy H.

Yelp
The food here is absolutely fantastic. We're in St Croix for our tenth anniversary, and are normally hard to impress with food, but everything we got at Rowdy Joe's was amazing. The goat curry empanadas were superb and the special of the day, a NY strip steak with chimichurri sauce literally had us licking the plate. The portions were very generous, which we very much appreciated, and the wait staff was courteous and pleasant. That said, the few wait staff that were there seemed to be swamped and service suffered because of it, and the atmosphere is very "bar" like - mostly folding chairs around tables. All that said... I am *sure* we will be back again. The food is just *that* good, but next time, I will plan to be there well before the family was ravenous. Families should be aware that they do not have any sort of high chairs or boosters.

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
Just had s very too dinner st Rowdys! This is Not typical bar food. From the road it doesn't look like much but as soon as you see and hear about the menu it's clear this is a foodie place. I had the red snapper special and my wife had the blackened fish tacos -both were very good. We also had the Apple gritter desert and enjoyed it. Not really that far from town - it looks like a remote spot but you're there in 20 minutes.
google avatar

Teresa B.

Yelp
Delicious as usual, but the TV outside bugs the bejeezes out of me and our ticket got "misplaced" by the chef, so we had to rush through our meal, once we finally got it, to try to avoid being late getting back to work. We will come back again, but are a little jaded now.
