How Hurricane Melissa Is Impacting Travelers and Local Communities | Condé Nast Traveler
"I saw that Icon of the Seas was repositioned from an Eastern Caribbean sailing to the Western Caribbean, swapping out planned calls at St. Thomas and St. Maarten for visits to Roatan and Cozumel to avoid the hurricane's path." - Jessica Puckett
First Cruise – Amazing Experience!
This was my first cruise, and it was absolutely awesome! There was so much to do on the ship, and the whole experience was just incredible. The stops in Mexico were definitely the highlight—totally worth it.
If you’re thinking about taking a cruise, I highly recommend it. Can’t wait to go on another one!

Love the terminal, the whole process to get on the ship was fast and easy. Clean and very organized.

Easy to walk pier to the shops, restaurants and bars. Lots of "straw market" shops set up to haggle with vendors all within the secure port area. Small stroll through the gate to access taxis, etc. Many shops you will see at most of these ports

Beautiful terminal with lots to do! We came here on a Royal Caribbean cruise, and it did not disappoint! We felt very safe since there were Mexican armed forces around to ensure safety. Of course, there are a lot of merchants. Make sure to be prepared for that. Most do take US dollar and credit cards for purchases.

The Royal Caribbean cruise port is very easy access the only thing I was confused and was how my parking was I already prepaid it but I didn't know I thought I had a prepaid parking spots I didn't know it was in a Pacific parking area 241 I thought it was my parking space I didn't realize that it was the parking garage and " that didn't like that I had to give up my key to my car to quote the parking attendant

The taxi to San Miguel and other parts of the island is very fast and cheap. Make sure to pay attention to signage, because my wife and I accidentally paid $20 for our trip to Downtown/Centro when it was $10 for 1-4 people. Not $10 per person, and the taxi driver just took the extra money. Right across the street is CiBanco where you can exchange currency, but honestly everything in San Miguel is in USD and they don't charge more in USD than MXD.

Amazing tourist place to visit for a vacation.
Nice restaurants for Mexican food and the best place for swimming and snorkeling.

Plenty of shops to search for souvenirs in a safe space. Outside of this area you will be approached by tourist traps and pushy people who will try to sell you many illegal things and "services".
