This Hotel charges luxury prices but delivers a very average experience. My room looked spacious at first, but the details quickly showed that the quality isn’t there. One of the bathroom towels had a dried brown stain on it, which is unacceptable at any hotel, let alone one in this price range. The bathtub had a visible dirt ring, and the shower head Had Rust and maybe hair some how on Top ? These aren’t small oversights — they reflect poor cleaning standards and lack of maintenance. The room itself feels outdated. The TV isn’t a smart TV, which is surprising for a hotel that markets itself as upscale. For the price, I expected modern features, not something that feels 10–15 years old. You’re essentially paying for the terrace and the water view of the Castle, but with the current weather, the terrace is unusable and even locked for me, Yes terrace doors I cannot open in my own room. Without that, the room simply doesn’t justify the cost. Just be weary its a Very Busy Hotel with a lot of foreign tourism like myself. Also the Rooms our in soundproof either way, you can hear families in the hallway. Overall, this hotel relies heavily on its location, but the room quality, cleanliness, and amenities fall far below what you’d expect for the price. I wouldn’t stay here again unless significant improvements are made.

I had a very good stay at the Royal Continental in Naples. The location is perfect — right on the seafront with beautiful views and an easy walk to restaurants and the historic center. I especially liked the rooms: spacious, clean, comfortable, and with a calm atmosphere that made it easy to relax. The sea-view balcony was a real highlight. Breakfast was generous. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Overall, a very pleasant hotel in a fantastic location, and I would gladly return.

The Royal Continental Hotel in Naples has become our cherished December tradition, and every stay reminds us why we return. The service is outstanding, and the staff is exceptionally warm and attentive. They even remember how much I love the sfogliatelle and often send a few freshly baked ones to my room, a gesture that always feels personal and thoughtful.|The seafront setting is stunning, with bright, spacious rooms and balconies overlooking the Bay of Naples. Gio Ponti’s elegant design gives the entire hotel a timeless charm. The restaurant is outstanding, serving excellent dishes with beautiful views that make every meal special.|From the rooftop pool with its sweeping views of Castel dell’Ovo to the easy access to Naples’ best sights, the Royal Continental offers comfort, beauty, and hospitality at its finest. It remains one of our favorite places in the world.

This hotel is old, with lack of elevators which are also really small. It’s getting really cold in the night. Breakfast is the same, not good, not bad. The worst part and the one that killed all the experience was the so called “city tax” which was about 130 Euros for 4 days!!!!!! What a fraud! They told me that they charged this ammount because we had a sea view room.. what a joke.. we coule barely see a bit of sea and when we asked if they can give us a proper sea view room they said no.. what a disgrace of a hotel. Never coming back. Please , avoid this hotel.

Such a comfortable stay and what a wonderful view! I stayed at the Royal Continental for a few days before a tour and the last night at the end of the tour. When I booked I asked for (and paid for) an ocean view for my first few days. It was an ocean view with a castle! The hotel was clean and fairly quiet given that periodically there would be fireworks (which you could see from the balcony) and music from across the road! The bathroom was updated and very nice. The wifi worked well in my ocean facing room. The breakfast was very good and comprehensive. The staff were helpful and efficient. I booked a single no view for the return evening. It too was clean and comfortable with an updated mosaic bathroom. The wifi really didn't work in that wing until one reached the elevator area. The hotel is located on the water on a pedestrian walk way that has been closed to traffic. Taxis and buses come around the corner to the front of the hotel and exit at the next corner where there is also a taxi stand. There are many good restaurants along the water and a walkway on a breakwater across the street. I felt entirely safe walking in the evening along the water - everyone is walking there until late at night. There is a shopping street around the corner from the hotel with a good sized grocery store.

Google
I find these type of hotels and the service a shame for a city like naples, but maybe this is what it deserves. Unrelated to the hotel is the cost of parking's nearby, all vacant but as expensive as NYC. The mentality in naples is still that of screwing the tourist. Breakfast in the hotel was good

We stayed with our two kids and couldn’t be happier. The hotel had thoughtful amenities like a kids’ play area, children’s menu at the restaurant, and even board games at the front desk. The family suite was spacious and clean, with enough room for everyone to relax. It felt safe, warm, and welcoming — ideal for families traveling with young ones.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The view during breakfast was amazing, and the buffet offered a wide variety of delicious food, especially the pastries. The service was very good. The staff were welcoming and respectful, and always attentive to our needs. A big thank you to Sonia Marches and Maria F. who were particularly kind and helpful. The room was very clean, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and we had an incredible view of the sea, definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Just one point to mention: the pool was quite small compared to other 4 star hotels, and we couldn’t access it without a reservation. I understand this is due to the limited space, and the 2-hour limit made sense, but it was still a bit disappointing. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would recommend the hotel !

Yelp
What a beautiful location right on the water! The lobby area was clean and there were many comfortable places to sit. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly. The hot breakfast selection was quite limited which was disappointing, but there were many baked goods available. The dining room offered beautiful views of the water. One night we were there we could not get to sleep because we heard loud noises above us. We were on the 8th floor. It sounded like chairs being dragged. This was just after 10pm. I called the front desk to complain and was told that there was a party right above us that was over, so the crew was cleaning. The front desk clerk apologized and said they should be about done. So, the disappointing hot breakfast options and the loudness of the chairs being dragged around after10pm is the reason for taking away two stars. However, after considering the great location & best pizza of my life at Diego Vitagliano's around the corner, I gave a star back. I would stay here again but not on the 8th floor!

Yelp
Locations is great hotel look so fancy in front but in the elevator and hallway terrible so dirty . I book for single room they gave me a bed that looked like im in jail . I pay $287 per night the room so big but bed so small can't not even sleep. Terrible hotel . Not recommended.

Yelp
Worst hotel I have ever been to. This is not a 4-star hotel, liars! They ruined my last night in Italy. The AC does not work properly. I traveled with friends, and their AC did not work either (July weather). It only works in the lobby for the rude staff members. The door to my room would hardly open! My husband had to turn sideways to squeeze through. The bathroom is run down, and the soap despenser is broken. The entire property smells moldy. The elevator is in no way up to code. It's very scary. Staff are completely rude at check-in and at the pool. You are only allowed to stay at the pool for 2 hours, and you have to reserve a spot before the rest of the hotel members do. There is very little shade at the pool, and they assign where you can sit. There was a balcony but no furniture to sit on. Naples is dangerous and filled with crime, but if you have to be there, avoid this hotel claiming to be a 4 star establishment. They also charged a 90 euro city tax.

Yelp
We stayed here for one night during a family trip through Europe. It was a nice place with a nice location and beautiful views right outside the front door. I'd recommend it but there are many lovely places to choose from, I'd look around as well. Kind of a busy area too, with a lot of street peddlers selling an assortment of touristy junk nearby, so keep that in mind.

Yelp
Wonderful location on the shore of naples with beautiful views. Rooms are reasonably priced. Check in is at 1500 which kinda stunk since I got in so early but there were nice couches in the lobby to wait in until the room was ready. Bar has a nice selection. Breakfast is american and included with room price. My second time back and will come again!

Yelp
First day in Napoli . Air conditioning in room does not work had to go to front desk to report.A maintenance person came by said give it another 30 min 2 hours later and room is 86 degrees reported again someone else came and said it was broken finally we got another room with same problem. I think they control the temperature . The TV does not work in this new room. Now why does this Hotel have a 4 star rate when it doesn't make it to 2 stars sad but wouldn't recommend what you are paying is the view but who comes on vacation and sit on balcony watching out all day !!

Yelp
My brother and I stayed at this place for a week in January. The hotel is clean, inviting and has a great staff. They have a complementary morning breakfast and nice size rooms. There is a mini fridge in the room along with a tub and bidet. The tub is narrow with a sloped floor, which made showering treacherous. The doors to our room were very hard to open. Castel dell'Ovo is a short walk with great views of Mt. Vesuvius along with restaurants and street vendors. We found the Mezzanine Restaurant very good for dinner. My bon vivant brother said the pasta vologne was excellent, so definitely check out that area. They have a complimentary no frills breakfast with fruit salad, pastries, cereals, cakes and coffee (expresso and cappuccino too.) I had my favorite granola, fruit and yogurt mix which was great. My biggest complaint was the so-called 'high-speed' Wi-Fi, which was either nonexistent or slower than a pigeon with a broken wing. Multiple complaints failed to fix the problem. My brother had a handicap-accessible room but unfortunately the heat would not turn off and the temperature stayed above 90°. For some reason this could not be fixed during our stay and they gave him another room to sleep in, but he had to go back to the original room to take a shower. Again, not sure if this is an Italian thing or why things take a week or two to get fixed. Room tip: Make sure you have access to an eSIM or SIM for Internet. We used Holafly which worked well (much faster and more reliable than the hotel WiFi), with unlimited data for $19/5 or $34/10 days.

Yelp
The pool requires reservations and nobody told us at check in. We made it very clear that we wanted to spend the day at the pool yet got one hour before being asked to leave. I have never been to a hotel that was more rude that this lady at the pool. Great location but I will never return. Half the pool chairs remained empty all day while they turned away guests at their hotel. Not OK.

Yelp
I do recommend this hotel as it's in a good location and the views of the sea in Mount Vesuvius are stunning. The hotel, however, is long overdue for a refresh remodeling because the rooms are very outdated in the bathrooms seem like they're from another century. The bathtubs are high up on a platform so you have to climb up to get in the tub to take a shower and you're lucky if you don't break your neck trying to take a shower because the tubs are so narrow and it's just unbelievable. The staff there is fantastic. Front desk, valet, wait staff, It doesn't get better. We actually had one of our best meals in the restaurant there.

Yelp
Gate 1 chose this hotel for us to stay during 14 day trip of Italy. The location is beautiful overlooking the Bay of Naples. We arrived in late May and it was already quite hot so we were excited there was a pool here again, however they decided not to open it yet! Pity... I saw the picture of the beautiful views there as well. We had every breakfast here in the morning and the selection was decent. Nothing amazing. They had a nice variety of pastries that we indulged in every morning. We also had 2 dinners. Everything was served in the fish bowl style restaurant overlooking the bay. When we arrived the room was the typical standard room and twin beds. Not sure whose fault it was but we had to request for them to put the beds together and fix the weak AC since I was traveling with my husband. I'm going to err on the side and say it was Gate 1's mistake since we filled out a sheet specifically to the Tour Manager indicating room set up preference. One big issue we had was with the tub/shower combo. This style is common in Europe and the floating glass pain is a pain. Instead of having it locked in place it would slip out of place and it would cause your bathroom to flood instantly as you're showering! Way more details about Naples: http://tinyurl.com/RBHNapoli

Yelp
Just checking in and I'm very satisfied with my view. The room is clean, bathroom much bigger than my hotel on Montecatini Terme. I can't wait to further explore this place. Oh lastly, my room has a balcony view can't wait to hang out on it.

Yelp
A decent hotel situated in a prime location on the waterfront. Friendly staff and an efficient check in and check out made the admin side of the stay hassle free. The fitness centre was more like a fitness room, with no towels and some equipment not working. Pool hours were varied. A comfortable room and amenities you'd expect from a hotel of this caliber.

Yelp
Great hotel right on the Naples coast. Quiet spot and balconies for every room. A great roof deck that you could see for miles at. The lobby is nice, the staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and spacious. The service was great. The breakfast offered wide range of everything, and more. You did not leave hungry. You could sit have breakfast looking out at the ocean to. Will be back, this was a great hotel.

Tania M.

Yelp
Poor customer service. Indifferent attitudes of staff quite annoying. The wi fi not working on the floor and AC was turned off. Temps reached 26.5 degrees C, each staff member contacted had a different excuse but none prompted or felt led to resolve. Stayed 3 nights and was a very generic experience. Very disappointed.

Nathan B.

Yelp
Hotel has a great location and easily walk to anything you want. Room was clean and comfortable. We did have one issue during the stay but staff worked to correct it so not worth mentioning.

Yelp
This hotel is probably one of the worst hotels I have been in. Highly recommend staying some place else. The views are the only positive thing about this place.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
This hotel is really good for the beautiful views! The hotel is overall ok but could be improved. The rooms are spacious for Italian standards and the rooms are moderately upgraded but could use more IT enhancements. Also the number of channels in the room need to be upgraded! Only a few Italian channels?? The gym was horrible!! The worst hotel gym I've seen in a while. There is only one treadmill which is super cheap so don't try anything crazy like sprinting. There are some basic hand weights but not mats or towels so very difficult to do a workout. Also there is no water!! The boning of this hotel is good but there are many misses like the gym!
google avatar

Katie S.

Yelp
The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. The hotel is also right on the coast which makes for a great view. The room we were given at check in, had an issue with the toilet being bolted securely to the ground. After alerting staff of this, we were immediately upgraded to a room with a great view and a little more space. The complimentary breakfast that the hotel offers is a standard buffet breakfast that is a great addition. The reason for the four stars is the bathroom. The shower has an awful layout. Essentially there is no shower curtain or shower door to keep the water in while showering, so the floor becomes a swimming pool while you shower. We had to cover the floor in towels every time we needed to shower because we knew it was going to be a mess.

Leili D.

Yelp
One is too generous for this shit hole! In my entire life I have never been this disgusted by a place I want to take a bleach bath after touching anything in this place! Whoever gave them a good review must have never stayed in a good hotel! The bathroom smelled like fresh pee! AC was broken they had to come fix it! There was sand and rocks in the bed which sheets had to be changed.. I am not sure if the shower made me cleaner or I walked out with 10 mold strains! STAY AWAY! We almost overlooked the $240 per night we paid hotels.com and went to a new hotel which I wish we woulda done!

Yelp
I was very pleased with our visit to this hotel. It was the last day of our Italy trip and we only stayed in Napoli for one night. The hotel staff was very friendly and spoke English which is great since I know about 12 words of Italian. The room was clean a fairly modern. The lobby bar had a good selection of everything. The location is great, right on the water and plenty of restaurants nearby to walk to. The price was very reasonable and if I find myself in Napoli again I would stay here for sure.

Yelp
I really want to give this a five star review but my $80 a night hotel and Pompeii had 10 times better air-conditioning. My husband likes it pretty frigid when we are in the room so it really didn't work great for us. They told us the units are not that effective, especially if you take a shower. Lol, we need showers. The location of the views everything is beautiful the staff is awesome. Lots of room!! And they had a room ready at 11 AM when we showed up which was awesome

Yelp
For the price (200 USD in May) I was pretty impressed. Large clean rooms with a soaking tub. Decent sized balconies with great views of the bay and the castle. It has a gym, albeit not a great one and the pool was closed becuase it was early in the season. Breakfast was OK, but included so I won't complain.

Rose G.

Yelp
I am giving this hotel a one star not because the hotel is bad but because of an what happened to me and my husband in Naples. My husband was brutally attacked in Naples. He was throw in a bunch of bushes while walking on dog after dinner. The criminal who attacked him must have been told by the people who waited on us in the restaurant that he had a Rolex on because that was the only time that the watch was visible. The watch was stolen. We are a older couple so they knew we couldn't do much even though me husband tried to fight the bum the stock and size of the criminal was overwhelming. The street was full of young people and nobody tried to help. I was trying to get my dogs leash so he didn't go into the bushes or if my husband let go didn't run into the street. When we got back to the hotel and told them what happened, my husband was bleeding and bruised, they didn't even want to call the police. I was pleading with them and finally they called probably because there was guess there. Overall it was a horrible experience to say the least. I would be very concerned about going to Naples. This happened in the best part of the city with all four and five star hotels. Be very concerned.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing at all wrong with this place. It is exactly as advertised, a four-star hotel... in Italy. Methinks what passes for 4 stars in much of Europe is more in line with a 3-star hotel in North America. This property did have some very endearing features, like the sea view, the rooftop pool and bar and the sweeping views from the restaurant. The rooms were very comfortable too. They lose points for their pathetic breakfast, though. We'd stayed in much lesser hotels in Italy that had far better fare.

Danny R.

Yelp
No real Air Conditioning in a Seaview room. The room was 80-84 degrees the entire time... We asked them to fix it and the maintenance worker said "this is as good as it's gonna get". I do not recommend starting here at all. Stay in the hotel next to this one, Petit Palais.... Much better quality.

Bob M.

Yelp
Just got in on nov 17 2017. Location is great. Room is ok but no coffee maker, no iron. We are the average blue color worker on vacation. Asked for a bucket of ice for our room and they wanted 8 euros charged to the room. I spoke to the hotel manager and he would not budge . I will not recommend this hotel if you are the average vacationer. Piss poor management trying to nickel and dime yo to the end. 8 euro for a bucket of ice.

Jessica L.

Yelp
I highly recommend this beautiful hotel. The staff is exceptional and went out of their way to make a wedding anniversary something special! Grazie!
