Our recent stay at the Royal Court Hotel offered a mix of positive interactions and significant issues. While the hotel staff were consistently friendly and accommodating, a clear lack of maintenance and modern amenities detracted from the experience.
The room itself was spacious but fell short on basic comforts. The absence of a bar fridge was notable, and the bathroom presented several problems, including inconsistent hot water, moldy shower tiles, and weak water pressure. The small television, old and stained towels, and an uncomfortably hard bed further contributed to a disappointing stay. The tiled floors and poor sound insulation meant that external noise was a constant disturbance.
Dining was a low point. The food quality was poor, and guests should be prepared to eat elsewhere. We also discovered a lack of takeaway cups for coffee, so bringing a travel mug is a necessity for those who enjoy a hot drink on the go.
In terms of other services, the Wi-Fi speed was average at around 20Mbps. Parking is limited, with only a few off-street spots available. While amenities such as a swimming pool, gym, and bar are listed, we did not use them.
Overall, the Royal Court Hotel appears to have seen better days. Despite its historic charm, the lack of investment in modernizing and maintaining the property is evident and significantly impacts the quality of a guest's stay. For those considering this area, a more modern and well-maintained alternative like the Premium Inn Hotel may be a better choice.
